Food truck Thursday! Oh boy was I excited as I saw a few trucks lined up outside Riley hospital. I had to make up my mind and I chose gauchos fire because I saw the long line of people waiting to place their order here. I figured this has to be the best option! I ordered a #9 beef steak sandwich with melted provolone cheese!!! I had to wait 15 mins and it was worth it. This has to be one of the best steak sandwiches I have had. Fresh, juicy and very flavorful the least to say! Their other famous options are the chicken sandwich, beef skewer and the croquette. They recommend the authentic Brazilian drink gurano which is very nice aswell with a berry flavor. Next Thursday I'm trying something new here because it's authentic dining for real! read more

The food trucks at the statehouse can be overwhelming because there are so many options. I settled on Gaucho's Fire but again the truck had so many options so I took forever to decide. I narrowed down to picking either the gaucho fries (looked Amazing) or the steak salad (looked hella tasty) and it took me up until the register to pick. I chose the steak salad accompanied with a guarana soda. I was happy with my choice the flavor good and I got a great portion. The steak was on top of romaine lettuce, tortilla strips, diced tomatoes with a nice spicy vinaigrette. It was a perfect salad if you are watching what you're eating but also need some protein. I will definitely go back to try some of the other dishes. My friend got the steak sandwich and he was very pleased with his choice. He also said he wanted to come back. read more

I've never really experienced Brazilian food until now, and it was fantastic! I got to try Gaucho's Fire at the first trivia night at Hotel Tango. I got the #20 which was fries covered with steak and chimichurri sauce! Holy moly was it good! The fries tasted like they were hand cut, and the chimichurri was fantastic. My sister got a similar dish with fries, smoked sausage and added grilled onions. She said the onions were the best part! We also got a small order of fried ravioli with the same chimichurri sauce, and those were nice bites too. The prices are great, and I will keep an eye out for this truck wherever I go. I hear they'll be back at Hotel Tango soon so I may just have to make my way there again! read more

Run. Don't walk. Husband and I tried out the grilled beef chimichurri and IT WAS AMAZING. Fries were the most crisp fries, the steak was seasoned to perfection and the chimichurri tasted extra fresh. We went and visited the storefront in the garage & highly recommend. The kind young lady at the front was patient and helpful as well. We will return!! read more

I loved the steak salad and cheese bread. The bread was light and airy, not too filling. The steak had a wonderful marinade and everything was super fresh. It didn't feel like a heavy meal and yet was so satisfying. The lady who took our order was from Brazil so I knew this is the real deal! She expressed her family's passion for food and was super friendly. I have to try more of their menu next time! I'm rooting for these folks. read more

We love checking out new things and The Garage in Bottleworks has lots of fun and new options. We picked Gaucho's Fire as we were hungry and it looked good! We were not disappointed. We both ended up with the steak sandwich and it was delicious. Great flavor and very filling. We will definitely be back to check out more of the menu. read more

On my way from computer class downtown I noticed this food truck parked on the street. I have never tried Brazilian food before and was very curious. I picked the right time to get it line because I was able to order fast and get my food within 10 minutes. I choose the grilled chicken sandwich. It had grilled chicken , lettuce, tomatoes, provolone, and mayonnaise. It also came with fried for $8. Which I wouldn't consider bad due to how big the sandwich was. I'm not sure what kind of bread it was but it was hot and buttery ! I will definitely buy from this truck again. Great take on a Steak Sandwich. I am passionate about cheese steaks and this sandwich does not disappoint. Similar to a cheesesteak, but flavored just differently enough to make it unique. Onions, tomatoes, peppers with Brazilian seasoning make this a must departure from my usual salad for lunch. read more

Amazing southern Brazilian food! The true Gaucho experience in Indianapolis. Being from southern Brazil myself I know how to rate this as truly excepcional. The coxinhas are fresh, the pastel has great ingredients and the meat (picanha) comes just right. It's an excellent meat cut you cannot find in Indy but here. My family and I tried it all on a sunny Saturday downtown, it was enough food for everyone at a very reasonable price. Now and then they also do churrasco (BBQ) training and serving at another location. That's the next step. read more

The chicken fries are awesome! That's our go to! Add extra sauce and you've got yourself an amazing meal! I expected the chicken to be dry based on look, but nope! The chicken was moist and seasoned to perfection (not overly seasoned either)! Pair these with a Guarana Antarctica and you're all set! read more

I've eaten at this Food truck twice now. They've been nice enough to travel up from Indy to Kokomo and we much appreciate that! There's usually 6-8 options and prices vary from about $7.50 to $12. I only have 4* because oh my first visit, I ordered the steak sandwich, but it was only okay. Maybe unfortunately for me it seemed very bland and by the time I found a seat the sandwich was completely soggy. But my second trip I ordered the loaded fries when grilled onion and sausage and was not disappointed. I also tried the Brazil soda they offer, it's very fruity and refreshing but at $2.50 for a can, a bit over priced in my opinion. read more

Ok I don't know what Brazilian food is suppose to be like but this was good. I got the item on the menu that looked like an empanada. The best way to do scribe it is a good mix between an Jamaican paddy and an empanada. They are nice sized like a Jamaican paddy, I ordered 3 and was very full after just two of them. It was full of a beef mixture that was not greasy or messy. This was a significant plus because I was eating on the move. The shell is like an empanada but very flavorful and surprisingly not greasy like empanadas. I was happy that I found this place and looking forward to trying something new!! read more

One of the best food trucks around. I had this not too long ago and I am waiting for its triumphant return! I had a Brazilian steak sandwich, piled high with all kinds of stuff. With Scratch Truck sadly no longer out and about, this is one of the few trucks that we really look out for. Get the cheese pastel! It wasn't what I expecting, but it is pretty tasty. I've never had Brazilian food before, so I can't comment on its authenticity, but I can comment on the deliciousness of the food! The fries are really good, and come with the meal, so it's pretty good value for money. The flavors are great. Try the sausage sandwich. Fairly fast service, too. read more

Man, let's just start with the presentation. When you open your box, you're automatically greeted by the lovely assortment of colors from the fresh tomato's and romaine lettuce. The sweet chili sauce is just simply to die for, delectable if you will. The fries will literally bite back!!! Which is hard to find!!! Now, the chicken was the icing on the cake. Tender, beautifully cut, seasoned to perfection!! Overall if I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!!! No doubt will be watching you guys schedule to see where you'll be next! read more

Food trucks were at the hospital and this is the first time I've had a chance to try Gaucho's Fire. They are fast. My wife was at Scratch Truck at the same time and I was ordered up and finished in half the time of Scratch (this is not to diss scratch as I love their food but just did not want a hamburger again although I noticed the grilled flank steak so will try that next time). I got the sausage sandwich with cheese minus the bun (I can't eat wheat). It was delicious and the fries were nice. Not as good as Scratch Truck fries but almost as good. My wife asked if I'd buy from GF again and I said yes I would. So I liked the food. My wife also tried the cheese Pastel (which I bought for her) which she also liked even though it was not what she had expected. Overall the food is good and the fast service can not be beat. read more

I like this truck (and I don't like many). Had the steak sandwich with cheese, a beef pastel and a Brazilian soda. Pastel was $3 for one, and while it was quite large, it was a bit on the bland side. Probably wouldn't get that again. The sandwich was really good. Shredded steak with fried onions and a tomato/onion pico kind of thing on top. Not spicy, but sort of sour. Not citrus sour, but vinegar sour, if that makes sense. Really good. The Brazilian soda tastes like a cross between a Sprite and a Mountain Dew. It was only 50 cents more than the American soda, so worth a try. Service was friendly and pretty quick. Portions are better than average for a food truck. I don't know enough about Brazilian food to comment on the authenticity, but I know I will eat here again. read more

We went to the food trucks tonight at Ellenberger Park. Between 4 of us, we sampled the steak sandwich, the beef pastel, the chicken and beef skewers. The food was tasteless, bland and had absolutely no seasoning -- except salt, and we used a large quantity of ketchup to choke the 50 dollars worth of meal down. None of us finished. The tres leche cake was DRY. Will not go back. read more

The food is awesome. With a presentation that is fantastic. Portion great. Price is cheap. You have to give a try; you will not believe how good it is. Our favorite is the Coxinha. Everything is always fresh and cooked on site for you. You will not regret eat it. You will come back for sure. Do not forget to try the Picanha on a stick. Worst food truck I've experienced so far in Indy. Had the pastel and it was absolutely horrible. Bland. No seasoning and not even hot sauces helped it. I also tried the tres leche and it was the first dry tres leche I've ever had. I will never eat here again. So pissed I spent so much money on this dog food. read more

He turned it back on while huffing and puffing, then said "LOOK!" at the menu, which was just names of the boxes with prices, not sizes or again what's included/what I can choose from. I remained calm, despite feeling uncomfortable, and again asked if I could see a list of what's included or what I can choose from, and if I can pick something up same day or order for a future pickup (I was honestly hoping for a grab & go cooler like other similar places but no problem, I can order something for another time). I still have no idea what items are available, as the employee was just getting more and more mad at me with each question, which he refused to answer. I told him I was feeling uncomfortable, which he just said, "okay!" so I said I didn't feel like I was wanted there as a customer, and I left. Before contracting with Brad Gates Catering, my fiance and i spoke to several local caterers both preferred and not preferred by our venue, the Indianapolis Art Center. Brad Gates Catering is a preferred vendor for the IAC and came highly recommended by the staff at IAC. From the first email, to pricing, to the contract and payment options, BGC has provided an easy, stress-less and smooth process. Meggin was very responsive and proactive when working with us and our fixed budget. We didn't want to cut quality while cutting cost, and Meggin understood that and was able to put together a menu that not only meets our budgetary needs, but also our tastes. She is on the ball with all the nuances behind planning and executing a wedding reception dinner so she's been a huge help and resource when it comes to managing and making decisions around things like kids menu, buffet set-up and the like. Meggin was able to make adjustments to our proposed menu and has been wonderful with fielding all my endless questions as I navigate through the wedding planning process. I feel confident that our event will go smoothly and that the food will be a huge hit with our guests!

I found A Smudge Sweeter on Instagram, and after admiring all of their beautiful, custom desserts, I sent a message. The owner responded quickly and was able to make 50 cake pops for our party with only a week's notice. Not only did she make cake pops, but they were intricate, incredibly-themed cake pops that brought a lot of fun to our event. The party was right before Thanksgiving, so the cake pops had fun toppers that looked like turkeys, footballs, autumn leaves, etc. They were also delicious, which is sometimes hard to do when they're that beautiful too. You can now order dessert tasting platters from this business, which is definitely the next thing I want to try! Perfect to try out all of their offerings before making a decision on an upcoming gift.... or a fun thing to bring over to a friend's house for a fun night!

Being that it is located in City Market, there is a lot of metered parking within a reasonable walking distance and there are a few commercial garages available as well. They are not open everyday, or at least they were closed on Monday when I went to visit. The woman working there was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The restaurant has a compact menu. You will find it on the chalkboard on the counter. I went with the catfish platter. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for them to prepare my food, but it was made fresh. You can sit in the Market's indoor dining area that is located on the upper (and now lower) levels or at one of the tables in the outdoor courtyard. It was a nice day, so I decided to eat outside. The catfish and fries were decent. I cant give them the title of best that I have had, but it was good. It came with some hot sauce. If I have one suggestion, it would be to up their hot sauce game. I got two packets of a watery generic hot sauce. I would have like a more name brand sauce. It would have set the catfish off a bit more. I love supporting local and I will be back to check out some of their other savory dishes soon.
