Boy, this was a conflicting review to write. Let's start with the positive. The service was friendly and fast. I had the made from scratch clam chowder. It was actually very good. It was nice a chunky. I think I tasted a little cheese instead. I would order this again. We ordered a few appetizers that look good like spicy Cauliflower deep fried, WI deep fried cheese curds and fried mushrooms. I liked them all. They tasted great. They where well seasoned. The cheese curds was my favorite. I ordered Grouper Sandwich. That was a big sandwich. I loved the crunch. The fish was cooked well. It was nice and flaky in the inside. It was cooked in a nice crunchy battered. I liked it. A side of fries and lettuce and tomatoes came with it. The food was great. My reason for the low rating and my personal reasons. I am not a smoker. This place has people (many people) smoking by the bar area. In the inside so the cigarette smell is strong no matter where you sit. I moved around lol. But if that is your thing. This place might be for you. I have been driving by this place for years and always wanted to stop in. First impression as I walked in was that the place was a little neglected as in the ceiling had webs and other little things. My low rating was not on the food. But the way the restaurant is kept.

Loved this place! Long history of amazing food, servers are so sweet and great hosts! The gator bits and fried curds were amazing totally the place to stop!!!!! Will always stop here when coming down this area! It is cash only but totally worth it :). They do have an ATM inside.

Stopped in the this dive for an impromptu drink on our way to the gator swamp/everglade tours. Friendly staff, smokers everywhere, high prices for drinks - $48 for 4 drinks. I probably couldn't hang out here for extended periods since everyone, everywhere, chain smoked.

BBQ pork sandwich with pickle and chips at the bar. Hmmm.

Hoping I survive long enough to write this review. Okay, I did survive and well there isn't a whole lotta good to say about Gators Crossroads. That is of course unless you are looking for a kinda seedy, barley a step above a trailer park, type of biker watering hole bar, out in the middle of nowhere. Or you are camping next door, got set up late and don't feel like cooking in the dark. As I did. So, this place doesn't look too bad from the road at night. As I walk in it still has a bit of an inviting feeling to it. Old and in need of renovation but a local hangout type of ambiance. I belly up to the bar and am greeted by the bar tender Tracy. Friendly and quite the character in a interesting way. Don't want to say much more, you will just have to experience her for yourself. They have your usual suspects on draft and in the bottle. Nothing surprising here and the menu is pretty straight forward with your usual bar foods. So I order a draft and BBQ pork sandwich. Beer was fine, pretty hard to screw that up, but the pork sandwich came out looking like it was made was made hours earlier and sat under a heating lamp til I ordered it and to top it off the bun was stale. Sad to say the chips were the best part of my meal. Now to be fare, this place looks like it could be fun at the right time. It has a lot of room inside, a decent size bar and a couple pool tables. I believe they have bands here on some occasions and I bet this place probably fills up with bikers at those times. I do not see myself ever coming back here to eat or even to sit and have a drink. But if by chance I am in the area and there is a band I may stop and give it a second chance. For now I will just wish Gators Crossroads the best of luck and will hope for the best. Cheers. P.S. CASH ONLY. Almost forgot to post this. There is only a small sign behind the bar to let you know. Very easy to miss and they should be more upfront about this fact.

Fish sandwich with fries, kids burger no bun, and yummy yummy gator bites.

From the moment she greeted us, there was an ease to her kindness that felt genuine, unforced, and rare. The kind of warmth that doesn't hover, doesn't rush, doesn't perform--just shows up. She anticipated needs before they became questions, checked in without interrupting the rhythm of the table, and carried herself with a calm confidence that instantly made us feel welcome. What stood out most was how closely her kindness mirrored the kind I try to put into the world myself--attentive, respectful, human. Not transactional. Not scripted. Just real. She listened, she laughed with us (not at us), and she made the whole meal feel less like "service" and more like being taken care of by someone who actually enjoys caring. Food can be great anywhere. Service like Heather's? That's memorable. If you're lucky enough to have her section, you're in excellent hands. She elevates the entire place simply by being who she is. Management--please know you have something special here. Five stars doesn't quite cover it, but it'll have to do.

The restaurant has inside and outside seating. We sat outside because the weather was nice. Service was friendly and efficient. The reason for 3 stars is the food, which in my opinion was at best mediocre. The kid had pasta and red sauce, which at $12 was overpriced. The pasta was overcooked and the marinara lacked flavor. It came with fries that were crispy and well seasoned. I thought they were good but the wife said she tasted old oil. The wife and I had a house side salad and frankly, it was pathetic. It was not attractive to look at and not well assembled. It looked like someone just threw together some lettuce, a couple of cucumber slices, and some diced tomatoes and called it a salad. The portion was very small. We wanted a wedge salad but were told that they "were out." Whatever that means. We ordered the Caprese pizza, $26, which was overpriced. The crust was not thin but not thick. It completely lacked flavor. Someone forgot the salt when making the dough. The pie was not fully cooked in the middle. The ingredients, which were supposed to resemble a caprese salad, never really came together. The wife did not like it all. I was not as harsh. It was not terrible, but it was not very good. We did not take the leftovers with us. I don't know where the 4 and 5 star reviews come from. Maybe we got them on an off night. Maybe we ordered the wrong food. I don't know. But what I do know is that I would not recommend this restaurant and we will not return.

Wish we ordered another one as it wasn't enough for us (4 people). As this was a take out order, there was a big issue. The app gave options to add for an order. I ordered a spaghetti marina and thought I "added" garlic and oil. But when we received the order, it was just pasta, garlic and oil. Wtf?! Why the heck would anyone order a spaghetti and only want garlic and oil? The option was NOT clear. I thought it was in ADDITION to. So for $20 I got pasta and garlic and oil. No marinara. It's NOT spaghetti! This was a take out order so the experience might not be the same if you eat at the restaurant. UPDATE: The owner, Sami, called me the next day to apologize for the mixup and offered to replacement. Within 30 min I received a still hot spaghetti the way it's supposed to be. Not only that, he added some dessert. As a business person myself, I understand mistakes happen. But when the issue is rectified, it's a testament to the values of the restaurant. The spaghetti was delicious! Not only the food is delicious, but awesome customer service. I can imagine how good the service would be if we ate at the restaurant. Highly recommend. The tuna nachos really hit the spot with really fresh. Tuna, crisp, wontons, fresh seaweed, and great sauce. The lemon pepper grouper sandwich was nice because it wasn't breaded, giving something other than fried seafood, and really carried the acidity of the women through the rest of the sandwich. But sometimes simple done right is all you need. The wings were on point, the beers were cold, and the vibes were immaculate. She waited on us again, and honestly, she's a big part of why we keep coming back. Always awesome, always on top of it, makes you feel like a regular even if you're not. Good service elevates a good meal into a great experience, and Tina delivers every time. Here's my only complaint: I wish there was one closer to Fort Myers. We'd be here all the time if it wasn't a trek. And honestly? This concept would crush it as a larger restaurant with a full bar. Palm Beach Boulevard is seriously lacking in quality restaurant options, Backyard Fire Grill would absolutely dominate that area. Just putting that out into the universe. Someone make it happen. The Verdict: Wings, beers, great vibes, and Tina taking care of us, another five-star visit to Backyard Fire Grill. This place has the formula dialed in.
