Want to chat up the staff or locals? Take a seat at the bar, you won't be disappointed. . . I don't live in Florence and this is my go to coffee stop. I stop by every chance I can.

I'm sure I've been in a Dwell coffee in another location, so I'm guessing its a small chain. The place was dimly lit, clean and not very busy. A large coffee grinder sits at the front of the store (not sure if they use it, or it's just for show). There looked like enough seats to sit and work or study, and their seats were comfy, too. In the far corner, they had two local business' selling their wares, which I thought was great. One sold pots and plants, but I can't remember what the other one was selling. The shop also sells beers, hence the sub-name calling out coffee & tap. They had a small merch area (as most coffeeshops do now) and I really liked their growler bottles, but couldn't purchase one without filling it with beer (I don't drink beer, so that sucked). I asked for a Flat White (which wasn't on the menu) which the barista quickly replied that she hadn't had much experience with but would create one for me. I agreed and got the drink.  I didn't try any of their pastries/food, so I have no opinion there (maybe next time). It wasn't as rich as I was expecting, but it was flavorful. I may try a cappuccino on my next visit. For this area of Florence, I don't think there's a coffeeshop as good as this one, and I will be sure to return next time I'm nearby.

Asked my 20 questions about the Matcha Latte: is it just matcha powder, nothing else, not from a mix? I was assured it was "just" matcha, so I ordered. As we were finishing, I mentioned "unsweetened please". She said "oh, we can't do that: the matcha comes pre-sweetened". Um, then that's not "just matcha", it's a powdered mix that you take a scoop from and mix with water. Big difference. That's the equivalent of telling someone that instant coffee is just like regular coffee. She said she could make me a Chai unsweetened, the 20 questions about that ensued to make sure it didn't have milk solids in it. By this time I'd clearly annoyed her with my questions, so I got a Chai, lol. Who knows the make up of that. I'll come back with my husband to get him a coffee, but will continue my quest for a Matcha Latte elsewhere in Burnet.

The chai tasted very weird artificial and the hot chocolate was watery and lacked real flavor. Maybe their coffee drinks are better, since I saw many people ordering it. What I did like was the atmosphere: it's a cute place and even though it was very busy the whole staff was really kind and friendly.

I do drink mine black so getting that flavor out was done correctly. My girlfriend got a honey cinnamon latte and even that was fantastic. I don't like my coffees sweet but I'd happily drink that one haha. Need or want...same difference. Smile. I was actually toying with the idea of buying some mud honey (spiced honey). My barista said that that the mud honey was a part of the Adaptogen Latte. The word Adaptogen sounded to me like a CBD substance. My barista assured me that an adaptogen was a nontoxic substance from a plant or mushroom extract. Thus, I decided to try this latte. While the latte was pleasantly refreshing, I could not taste a distinctive mud honey. Thus, I decided to purchase the latte but not the mud honey. This bistro was cute with the trappings of homemade goodies such as cookies, pastries and other snacks. After the book discussion, folks were mostly waiting in line to purchase books or have their books signed. I received the full attention of the Bistro staff.
