I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff and doctors! My dog was going blind and Dr Bridget did routine tests and then called and got an appointment for us that afternoon with an Ophthalmologist to continue testing her. She got me in there in an hour! I'm new to Illinois so didn't have a vet but thankful I chose Gateway Clinic! read more

Dr. Kurt Klepitsch and his staff at Gateway are the best! in life you meet real genuine people and they have a lasting effect on you. that is Dr K. he is so truly caring and so knowledgeable - we have worked with many veterinarian's over the years and there is no comparison. We are so lucky to have his amazing practice right here in St Charles. I had to put a beloved pet down today after a lengthy illness they managed amazingly and they came to my house to do it so he could go in his own environment with us surrounding him. Truly a blessing to have them and Dr K for our fur babies! Can't say enough about this amazing business read more

Always get such great friendly compassionate care from all the staff. My older dog is always treated with such kindness and care. The vets take the time to explain everything and allow you to ask questions. Love Gateway!! read more

Kurt K and his team are incredible! I have brought my pets to this clinic for 26 years! They are polite, and respectful. Dr. K goes above and beyond to get answers from other specialists when needed. I completely trust them with my precious pets and I have complete confidence in the care we receive. I feel that their prices are great and the experience of the team is of great value. After taking 2 dogs and 6 cats to Gateway we have never had any complaints. I will not go to any other clinic! read more

Cannot say enough about the wonderful, caring staff and doctors at Gateway! VERY dedicated to helping your pet like it's their own. Old fashioned respect for you and your pets, very good communication and follow through whenever you need anything. They have really gone above and beyond for my sweet boy, currently a cancer patient. Many calls to my home after hours by his vet, the practice owner, working tirelessly to make sure we had the best plan of action - and many hours of research and communication with other specialists on my pets behalf. You will feel like your dog or other pet is the only one they see. Amazing front desk staff as well , just really good people who care. read more

My husband I cannot say enough great things about Gateway and Dr. Bridget and the entire team. We have been with them for 2 years now and they really care about not only our dogs, but us. For years one of our dogs had ear infections and nothing work with a previous vet. She made a suggestion to switch her food when we first came to Gateway and our Juno has not had any problems since then. We were just there a few days ago for her annual shots/wellness check up and her ears were great! We are so happy with Gateway and ALL the staff. read more

Bridget was amazing, and the front desk too. We switched over from another place, so glad we did.

Poor experience my mom had to go through with Gateway, as she is old school and made an appointment by phone, writing down her appointment date and time. When the the time came, she called ahead to be certain Gateway was expecting us, and it turned out someone had moved the appointment to an earlier slot. When my mom tried to change it, the staff was not sympathetic at all, and even admitted to the mistake. They apologized but did not wish to honor an additional 15 minutes of grace period, as we were already on the way eventually missing the appointment. Due to the poor attitude of this scenario, we shall be seeking care for our pets elsewhere. read more

If I could give them 10 stars I would! I don't know what I would do without them. Best bet I could find for my two little cats. I have try so many vets NOTHING like this clinic. Thanks so much. read more

When it came time to let or 18 year old dog go, we took him to Gateway Vet Clinic. The experience was horrible. Some of the doctors comments, that I guess were supposed to be comforting, we're completely out of touch. The doctors inability to get a needle in his leg made an already scared dog even worse. The bill included a $59 charge for a "quality of life" check. I'd have to say that this place knows how take a difficult situation and make it worse and capitalize on it too. read more

This practice came recommended to me after I had a horrible experience with the practice I was seeing. It was like night and day. From the first phone call to the completion of the appointment I could not have been happier with the service and care that was received. Highly recommend! read more

This is the best vet clinic I have been to. I have lived in Oregon, washington, Colorado, Texas and Illinois. No other vet has been as caring, friendly and helpful as they are here at Gateway. They really care and are not money grabbers like most. They are more concerned with getting your pet the best of care. read more

I've been using Gateway for many many years. Even when I moved out of st.Charles I still make the drive back. They are very friendly, kind and always treat my babies the best. They are genuine and honest. If you are looking for a great long term Vet I highly recommend them. They are honest and I will continue to use them for many more years to come. read more

I have been taking my dog to Gateway for 9 years. I am impressed with the care they are continuing to provide as we all experience life with COVID 19. The office staff is friendly and efficient, the vet techs are skilled, the doctors are compassionate and take time to exam and fully explain any pet issues. Today, Dr. Heather Nickel examined my labradoodle for a breathing issue. After explaining the diagnosis, she also gave me written information to more fully understand. Her thoughtful and caring demeanor was apparent and very much appreciated. read more

Thank you Gateway Vet Clinic!! Your staff are amazing, responsive, patient, and kind! Dr. Vlakancic is such a wonderful doctor, caring, through, amazing clinical skills, with the capacity to explain complex medical issues with non medical clients. Truly appreciate all they have done for all our animals over the years!!! The protocals they have put in place during the pandemic have been excellent with sound medical backing. With much appreciation! read more

I have to say, I have suffered for years with this place taking care of my dog. I kept coming back because it was a convenient location, however it just never felt like they do what they do because they care about animals, it is all about money and they ruthlessly charge for anything they can, without truly focusing on potential issues. Ultimately I brought my dog here when he was dying and they completely butchered it, it was not a peaceful experience, the vet woman was too lazy to do it properly to put an iv in my dogs paw, my kids witnessed it all and it was brutal because this place does not care, they also failed to send me a promised paw imprint but they did not fail to promptly bill me for their horrendous holocaust of my dog. read more

I have had experience with many of the doctors here. All are excellent and really care about my pet. The staff is wonderful as well!

Update Bentley my dog has died as of last Saturday if only I had gotten a diagnosis quicker. I might've been able to save her.

Been going for a couple months. Staff is friendly, prices seem fair. Have only spoken to the Doctor via phone due to covid19 but they seem very friendly and knowledgeable read more

Cindy Hooper was our remedy for our only home pet whom we cherish. She was amazing! Our Maximus had an urgent issue and she administered an immediate remedy. We are very thankful for Cindy's knowledge and proficiency! Thanks again, Drew Reinwald and Family read more

I highly recommend Gateway. The doctors here are great. They explain everything to you. Very good at handling your pet.

Cannot say enough nice things about this clinic. They have cared for both of my cats, one from essentially birth to her death at age 15. The staff is wonderful, they are brilliant with the animals, the place is spotlessly clean and they are always within 5 minutes of being right on time for appointments. Dr. Sara is fantastic. I do not know anyone who goes there who doesn't believe she thinks about animals exactly the way they do, even if they do not all feel the same way! You should definitely let Gateway care for you animals. read more

We brought our cat due to him spitting up a small amount of blood in his vomit. After a physical exam and X-rays the female vet wanted to keep our cat overnight due to a dark gray circle in his stomach. She explained that after a night of I.V.s (for fluids) and monitoring, if the mass did not recede then the next step would be surgery. My wife asked if the mass could be food, as our cat recently ate, the vet said that this may could be a possibility. Needless to say we brought our cat home that night. read more

Dr. K and all the staff are always great. I highly recommend Gateway to anyone who's looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable veterinary clinic for their fur babies! read more

My pets have been clients at Gateway since 2003. During that time, Dr. Klepitsch and Dr. Hooper have treated two cats and multiple dogs for everything from puppy check ups to standard maintenance care to complicated medical emergencies to helping senior pets in their final transitions. They are outstanding veterinarians whose genuine love and care for animals shines through in every interaction. The hospital is clean; the staff is friendly and helpful, and I would not trust the care of my pets to anyone else. read more

We have been taking our senior cat Tigger, 20 years old this year, to Gateway since 2006. We have always been treated courteously and respectfully. The Veterinarians are all exceptional, calling out Dr. Wahlund and Dr. Tracy from our recent visits 1/12/2017 and 1/13/2017. Associate Staff Megan and Mike treated our cat with "kid gloves" as if she were their precious pet. We LOVE Gateway Veterinary Hospital and would highly recommend their service. read more

We've been coming to Gateway for more than 20 years. An excellent practice with exceptionally caring vets and a great front-desk staff. Highly recommend. read more

I have to say watch your bill and ask for a quote prior to having any service. Lots of "extras" always more than expected. High prices on meds. $90 for a script there $6 at Costco. I can't say the care was bad but after reviewing bills over our puppies first year or so we are looking for a new vet. All about padding the bill... read more

I noticed that my Cairn Terrier Haley had an ear infection. We were to leave the next morning to visit my ill mother in another state. Gateway was booked solid, but Dr. Klepsch offered to come in early the next morning and fit her in. Haley is the second dog we've taken there, so all in all we've been going there for 20 years. What more can I say? read more

Dr. Klepitch and his staff are honest, organized and caring. We've had two dogs that required very special medical attention over the years and Dr. Klepitch and his staff were amazing and helped in so many unexpected ways. And the checkups are easy and they pay attention to the details that have meant so much to us. I also found out they are quite charitable as well. Highly recommended. read more

So, I called in to get overall pricing for my pet..the receptionist was extremely rude to me, she wouldn't really give me straight answers and acted as if I was a burden to her. I believe her name was Debby? anyways, I thought maybe she was having a bad day, so I called later on to see if I could get better help and yet again I get another extremely rude and unprofessional woman, acted like she couldn't understand me, had me going around in absolute circles about what my concerns were and her "recommendations". Thanks for nothing, Barb. Easy to say I will not be choosing this clinic for my pet. read more

Very happy with Gateway Veterinarian Clinic. Newly moved from the Charlotte, NC area where I loved my golden's vet and knew it would be hard to replace her! Dr. Klepitch is moving in the "right" direction to do that in my estimation. Your vet is like your GP. It takes time to get to know them. So far, from what I can see, Gateway and staff are highly rated. I have had dealings with two other local Fox Valley vet clinics in the past having lived in this area previously, and moving back here decided upon a change due to a a personal referral to try Gateway and am very happy I did! You are in good hands with them. Bigger clinics in the area offer no "personal touch." You get that at Gateway. Thanks for asking! Kathy T and Teddy G read more

Great, friendly service. Have gone here for years- it's now newly remodeled. The staff is great. My dog has gone to all the different doctors and I've been happy with all of them. I never feel like they make you do more than necessary. read more

That was two years ago . I was not ready to give up in our furry son , I reached out to Gateway vets for one last opinion Dr Bianuchi is who we saw . Dr. Ran some test put our dog on prednisone and our furry son is still alive two years later !! Gateway Vets saved our Dogs life and our dog Loves going there . Thank You Gateway And Dr Bianuchi from the Thurman's and Bear our Dog you saved his life read more

My animals and I have been patients at Gateway for almost 18 years. We've always gotten the best of care and service from the front desk all the way back to the vet techs. Everyone is caring and friendly. My favorite vet there is Dr. Sara Dodd, she's been with us from the first visit with a new pet to the saddest days of our lives when we've had to say good-bye to a beloved family member and every thing in between including a surprise surgery for one of my dogs. I can usually get an appointment right when I need it, often same day if someone is sick or has a semi-emergency. Prices are comparable to other vets in the area. I have changed doctors for my children and myself a number of times over the years but always go back to Gateway for my pets. read more

It's been too long since I've updated my review, so here goes. Since the last review, my two rat terriers have passed on to puppy heaven. We have a new rat terrier rescue -- Rosie -- and she is also a regular at Gateway, of course. The staff at Gateway couldn't have been more helpful when we went through the trauma of losing one dog to a sudden, and devastating illness. They reviewed all options with us, and took the time to check back with us after we had to let Sparky go. it was great to have honest, medical opinions to work with in making our tough choice. Still highly recommended! read more

We've been bringing our very difficult, very large (but very beloved) dog here since moving to the area 3 years ago. Dr. Klepitsch has always been incredibly understanding and flexible with our boy and his needs. Recently, Dr. K referred us to another clinic for an ultrasound to check a suspicious mass. He's returned our calls after hours and gone above and beyond to help our dog (and us) through a terribly rough time following a cancer diagnosis. Finding a vet with the skill and compassion of Dr. Klepitsch is rare. We will always bring our furbabies to him. read more

Gateway has cared for all of our Golden Retrievers since 1993. The Doctors and rest of the staff are always very helpful and professional and treat our pets as they would their own. Dr. K always takes the time to explain everything and gives options as necessary no matter what the situation may be. Gateway is The Best ! read more

We have taken our beloved dogs to Dr Cindy Hooper for over 5 years. She is one of the best Doctors we have even been too. Our dogs get very anxious and she gets down on the floor and does every bit of the exam that she can from that position. The dogs love her!!! She has guided is through tow surgeries and helped up evaluate options that a speciality practice recommended. She has been available day and night to us. As we were getting ready to move, one dog had an emergency, she squeezed us in and then even emailed us on moving day to ask how the dog was doing!! Clearly, this kind of empathy is not the norm but it is for her. We HIGHLY recommend Dr Hooper!!! read more
