I would like to compliment Gateway Ford Lincoln in Pierre, South Dakota for doing one of the finer jobs of service recovery I'd seen in my days as a consumer. I've observed in my times patronizing this dealership that the staff is very much focused on customer service. They greet their customers quickly and in a friendly manner in the service area and go out of their way to accommodate schedules by providing rides to work or to the dealership. Their cost for service is reasonable and competitive with other dealerships. Last Friday, I had an oil change done on my Ford F-150 pickup. It took a short time and I received a call to retrieve it when finished. I drove the pickup home and used it over the weekend. On Monday morning I noticed that there was a pool of oil under the pickup. I opened the hood and saw that the oil filler cap was sitting on the battery. It was accidently left off when they were doing the oil change. I checked the oil levels right away and found that there was no oil showing on the dipstick. The interior of the engine compartment was covered in oil and was a real mess. The next morning, I went to the dealership and told my tale. Scott, the Service Manager, was quick to respond. He apologized profusely, dispatched a couple of technicians to my home located about 12 miles out of town, put oil into the vehicle and drove it back to the dealership where they did an extensive cleaning, inside and out. When they were done, they returned it to my home. There was no damage, the problem was fixed and the vehicle returned to my home in better condition than before it went in for the oil change. Anyone can make a mistake like the one I experienced but success is measured by how the dealership responds. I'll give them an A+ for theirs.

I had a fuel pressure issue on my 2019 F350 that was related to the pressure regulator spring on…read morethe FASS fuel pump/filter system. The problem was resolved satisfactorily; however, it could has been done the afternoon they received the new spring from FASS instead of waiting until the next day. My biggest issue for not giving them at least 4 stars was the condition of the inside of my truck when retuned. There were muddy size 13 boot tracks all over the front sill plate, carpet, and carpeted floor mat on the drivers side! They obviously DO NOT put any emphasis on returning a customer vehicle better condition than when it arrived just as obvious is the fact they don't use disposable floor covers when servicing a vehicle; WHO DOES THAT!? I worked at a Ford dealer way back in the 70's, and would e got my butt handed to me for not using paper floor covers in a customers vehicle; can't imagine what the boss would've done for returning one with mud all in it. My F350 King Ranch IS NOT a pipe line or oil fiend rig!!! NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!

They were able to call a tow truck (thank goodness for smart phones) and have it towed to Murdo. The next day Nick V. in the service department was able to get the part they needed ( a new alternator) and have it installed and up and running within a few hours. I was very impressed with the friendly and helpful service my daughter received at Murdo Ford. They were able to get back on the road and continue their trip. When I found it would not pull my camper I went to trade it at a different dealer and they told me that it had been damaged on the right side. This was a surprise to me as well as it never mentioned it. Yes the damage had been fixed but this still shows up on a Carfax report and I feel effects the trade in value. Also I found out the truck came from an auction in New Mexico . I know by law they didn't have to disclose this because the dollar amount was not enough where they have to report it by law. But I would have appreciated it being a long time customer if they had told me

I came in with a "vibrating" Chevy Avalanche, & the man at the counter took me immediately to his young service tech to get me some help! This young man was so helpful & polite & drove my truck, put it up on the hoist & checked it all out for me! This shop did not have the parts to get me going , but called all over town to see who could help me out!! (I was almost 4 hours away from home!!) They sent over to the Chevy dealer in Oacoma, & they were just as helpful. The truck had to eventually be sold to salvage, but I am overwhelmed at the kindness of everyone in this area, & their helpfulness to get me back home, safely!!! They did not even charge me for their precious time! I am so very grateful to everyone here, & must say that this is one of the cleanest, most organized shops that I have ever been in!
