When I got back to them, they refused to close the loan until I paid their origination fee up front, on top of the appraisal and $500 good faith payment I had already prepaid. I was still within my commitment period and they refused to close the loan when I refused to give them any more money upfront as well as refund me my good faith payment even though i have proof the mortgage broker told me "nothing is nonrefundable" in writing. Stay away from them (Colleen Caine, the underwriter.......Kevin Vanic, business development officer, and Gary Polao, red star mortgage broker who worked with apex to approve me. I have filed complaints with 4 different agencies, including the BBB and the FDIC because of their parent company Firstrust Bank. Unethical, illegal, and they should be held accountable.

I contacted Steve and right away he put my mind at ease, which is not a small feat. He explained the different options, conventional, FHA, borrower PMI, Lender PMI, etc. and put no pressure on me what so ever. He also was extremely efficient and knowledgeable with regards to estimated closing costs and quick with advice on how to save money on things like title insurance and homeowners insurance. As luck would have it we fell in love with a home at the end of December and Steve and his team sprung into action. They moved so quick and had everything set up perfectly. He found us an amazing rate the next day and had an offer letter ready the next day as well. Long story short we closed on the house 25 days later, seriously, 25 days later and this is with the new year and MLK day in between. I had expected it to take double that time but Steve absolutely came through for us. And his estimated closing and cash to close numbers were spot on and less than the realtor estimated. Steve is an awesome lender. My only complaint is that he couldn't be our realtor as well because with someone like Steve on your side there is almost no need for one. If you are reading this then do not hesitate to contact Steve, especially if you are like me and have a million questions and feel the need to text and call randomly as thoughts come to you... sorry Steve. To rip me off one last time, they extracted a final PMI payment out of my PAID OFF loan. So I call to inquire as to how they justify taking PMI out of my overpayment check and the pathetic answer I got from the rep was that was what her supervisor said so. I am so done fighting these criminals, I can't bring myself to call again. They can have the lousy $73 if it means I never have to deal with this repulsive crooks again. You'd be better served getting your home loan through the mafia.

Michael Krasnay - At your request, I have already faxed you the notarized Affidavit and Hanasab Ins. will be sending the revised Property Insurance directly to your underwriter by 5:30pm tonight, 12/2/2010. If you are not able to provide these loan documents to Affordable Escrow by 9:30am PST (12:30PM EST), Friday, 12/3/2010, then we will be forced to find these funds through other banks and resources to make this deal happen.
