Wonderfully nice Dr's who carefully review your options and a helpful staff that listen to your circumstances to help you make the best decision based on payment costs. I have never felt judged coming in after not being in for a while, and have had several instances where I have had to make urgent, spur of the moment appointments and have been accommodated for every time. I usually see Dr. Reid and have always found him to be professional, kind, informative, and willing to answer any and all questions. My visit today with Dr. Hansen today reaffirmed why I love this place. She helped me weigh the cost/benefits of my situation to develop the plan that was right for me, no pressure given. If you choose to do an in-office milling you will be there slightly longer, however I believe it is way more convenient than coming into the office 2 separate times! read more

I went to this dentist with a fractured lower back tooth that was infected, it had to be pulled and a bridge out in with a bone graft. They did all of this in their office in 3 parts and now a few months since it's all been done, I have no pain, my bridge is great and they matched the color perfectly. read more

Couldn't even get an appointment scheduled. Tried to schedule an appointment for my husband here since I went in a couple of times last year and my experience was ok. But it's like the woman on the phone didn't even want to find a date/time that would work. When she said their latest appointment was at 3pm, I said, cool when is your next 3pm appt...2 weeks out. My wife was/is a patient. She had a consultation with Dr Reid. She has dental insurance with a major insurer. I have several years of experience in medical billing and insurance claims. We were required to pay for the services upfront. I assumed (I shouldn't have) the business would be honest (they weren't). This business is not ADA (American Dental Association) certified. They are affiliated with Pacific Dental Services out of Irvine, CA. A few years back, one of Pacific Dental dentists got in trouble for dishonest billings. (Pennsylvania) We paid for the services upfront. In fact, I paid for the services while my wife was sitting in the dentist chair. A bank time stamp would prove the payment prior to services performed. The dentist completed the dental surgery. Then billed the dental insurance. The billing department (handled by Pacific Dental) submitted all billing codes to the insurer and based on contracts reduced the bill. Our insurance paid and we had an overpayment. I sent an email to Pacific Dental regarding the request for credit refund. Their regional account manager (name known but omitted so you can form your own opinion) advised me I didn't know what I was talking about. I followed up with an email to this office for Dr Reid and the regional manager called me stating (Dr Reid) was given a copy but again implied dental billing is different than medical billing and refused to issue a full credit. I've never received a response from Dr Reid so I question whether he's aware of the issue. I've considered filing a small claims but I want others to understand do not pay in advance because this company and/or it's affiliate will bill the dental carrier in excess and by having you pay upfront you likely will overpay and never see a credit. The Better Business Bureau also indicates recent billing issues. Lots of data out their to support our claim. I was in the room with Dr Reid just prior to the surgery beginning. He appears to be a friendly individual. The BBB has now been contacted. Will wait to see if this is resolved. If not, I have a copy of a small claims complaint on my desk. read more

It had been a few years since I last went to the dentist (2019) so I was a bit hesitant and embarrassed. Gateway dental took my insurance information over the phone and the e-mail check-in was easy. Dr. Reid was very informative and thorough in explaining next steps. The best part was Madison the Dental Hygienist. She made my cleaning thorough, efficient, painless and honestly a lot of fun. This is the second time Madison has cleaned my teeth and she ia hands down the best dental hygienist I have ever had work on my teeth. I've been to several dental offices in Arizona and have extreme anxiety. I can assure you I am very picky. I went to Gateway Dental and had emergency dental see revives and I felt no anxiety and absolutely no pain. Dr Reid and the staff were excellent. I was in no pain when I left and was able to plan the rest of my work that needs to be done fast and efficient. The office I went to is off 99th and McDowell loved the way I was treated by everyone. They do a good job with cleanings and giving good dental advise. They're friendly and professional. So in terms of service and getting the job done, they get 5 stars. However... I wouldn't say they're a super lgbt friendly business. But I'm not saying they're bigoted or anything like that either. Just saying they can learn to be a bit more respectful. In fact, they need to get their act together and show some consideration towards me. I've been going there for almost a year now. You'd think that would be plenty of time to know my pronouns by now. Everyone on the staff, from receptionist to Dental Hygienist are super welcoming and nice. They really are knowledgeable and care about you having a smooth experience right from the check in. They are phenomenal! I have recommended to friends and family alike. They care deeply about your dental health and that your comfortable. It had been more that 5 years that I went to a dentist and I honestly didn't know what to expect but a scolding. Went in for an infected root, was heavily pushed to have the tooth pulled and replaced (an absolutely last resort for me), told I could come back in a week to see an endodontist to get the root canal re-treated. On my second appointment I waited an hour, was brought into the treatment room, then waited another half hour only for the original dentist, NOT the endodontist, to come in and tell me that, after the endodontist reviewed my x-rays, that there were bits of file left in two of the roots and we needed to remove the tooth instead. The endodontist never came in and the dentist told me exactly what he had told me before about pulling the tooth. None of the other staff came into check on me the entire time I was waiting or to explain why I was waiting for so long. I cancelled a cleaning appointment I had later that week and will be looking for an endodontist who will take the time to tell me face to face what's going on with my teeth and a dentist who doesn't make me wait an hour and a half with no explanation. A complete waste of time, will not return. read more

This will be the only review i will ever write about a dentist, through the years i never took care of my teeth i ignored oral hygiene. My anxiety was triggered my teeth problems, and these last couple months it got the best of me. The month of December i had a mental break down with a crackling sound in my mouth that i couldn't find out what it was. It made me clench my teeth and thought my molars were infected. I went to the first dentist and suggested i need four fillings, i went ahead and gave him my money. I thought it would cure me up and i would be on my way back to work again. Two weeks passed and i heard the same crackling sound and i kept clenching my teeth as if something was there. I decided to go back and informed them what was going on i saw a second dentist and suggested a deep cleaning. I went ahead and set the plan up and got treated for a deep clean. After a week that same feeling of anxiousness and depression was still there. The crackling sound was effecting the way i eat and i was obsessed of getting the feeling to go away. My mother suggested a different dentist so i went ahead and scheduled an immediate appointment. I explained to the new dentist that i had puss and felt something in my mouth so my teeth kept clenching. The third dentist referred me to an endodontics and did three key nerve test on the molars i thought were damaged or infected. When he was finished he suggested to have a root canal done. The root canal was finished and it was time to begin the healing process once again. Two weeks have passed and my mouth felt off, my mind was still occupied on knowing there was something in my mouth. At this time i felt useless, i wanted to give up and when i had my appointment for the cementing of my crown. I informed my third dentist that i need you too look at the right side of my mouth. I felt the puss and anxiety through my mouth an minutes after he seen that my upper molar was cracked. He suggested another root canal on the top molar just below the molar i just had a root canal done. My anxiety spoke for me and yelled extraction. I went through a dramatic experience because it was a January and at this time i had no job. I lost my mind because i thought i was going crazy and i was ready to petition myself into a physiocratic unit. This has to be my last hope and i will be okay from now on. The process of an extraction takes months to heal not just two weeks so i started my healing process once again. This time i had a bible, tusli tea, gaba calm supplements, veggie soup, yogurt soup and meditation guidelines to guide me. Once the two weeks passed i felt the crackling sound and diminishing anxiety through my whole body. My neck felt unease i did not want to eat, i scheduled an appointment and spoke with a PCP to help me with my diet or get a physical exam. Well, in that case my PCP prescribed me antidepressants on top of that i had the crackling sound on my teeth mocking me. Life was about to eat me up and take me away for good i felt. I entered the month of February mentally focusing on fighting on how to get my mind back in terms. I cried to release my anxiety i vented to my wife, i started doing medical marijuana but it did not help. On February 12, 2019 I woke up scared and in a panic state tears sunk me into my bed and i told myself i cant give up. I went online and searched for the nearest dentist i didn't care about qualities i was going to just go talk to five dentist today if i had or maybe even ten a day. So i seen Gateway Dental online that took my insurance, I spent almost all my life savings to help me with all my dental procedures. This was my last hope, and met Dr. Reid i informed him of everything that had happened to me. My mental state, my dental problems and my health i felt like pouring everything i got and requested his help. Dr. Reid listened to my whole story and wanted to evaluate my whole mouth, he wanted to know what was the cause. He was calm with the fifty questions i had for him, he took his time and informed me why i felt anxiety and why my bite was off. Before i finish this story do you know how hard it is to get a dentist attention and for him to actually care not just about money but mental and physical health. Dr. Reid did what other dentist did not do is take there time and evaluate your symptoms. The answer was right on the top corner of my molar. My wisdom tooth, I just had the procedure done today and my anxiety level was so high i honestly thought off funeral arrangements but no. His entire staff and team made you feel calm and relaxed. The oral surgeon who performed the procedure who i met for just 2 minutes made me feel relieved. Please share this with your friends, your coworkers and your loved ones this will be the only review i will ever write. I've been bringing my kids here for years. The staff is very friendly and always will to help. The dentist are very nice and explain each procedure thoroughly. My only complaint is some of the procedures are a bit overly priced and you should seek a second opionion at that point. The office is very clean and welcoming with lots of magazines to read, a video game for the kiddos a freshments such as water, coffe and tea. read more

I went to my normal routine/preventative 6 month appointment and was seen by the dentist who said everything looked great! The hygienist came in and completed a check of my teeth to verify if I had periodontal disease; I had a few 4 and 5's, moderate periodontal. The hygienist suggested a deep clean and sent the lady in who deals with the financial/insurance end of things; she told me without insurance the cleaning would be $2000 plus with insurance my part would be $600 plus. I opted to do the cleaning at a later date due to time restraints and asked for my normal 6 month cleaning. She informed me that the hygienist would not do a normal cleaning without me completing a deep cleaning first, I told her no. I felt ripped off, here I go to the dentist religiously and am now being told no cleaning without being raped financially first. Needless to say, I won't be back. I would just like to start off that the customer service in the front is horrible the lady up front named Carol started off by calling me to set up a appointment but the whole time she had an attitude from when I picked up the phone till the end. She was so rude that I couldn't even talk to her because of the amount of frustration it brought me so I ended the call with have a nice day. During the call when I had asked her why I was overcharged and why it wasn't billed to my insurance that I provided her. She refused to answer my question and I had asked her this 2 weeks ago as well and it was the same but in the end I ended up paying 3,000 out of pocket and I'm waiting for a claim that she refuses to give me for some reason. What was weird was the fact I called the insurance and they told me I was covered and they called her as well saying the same thing. Not only that every time I tried to say something she would interrupt me and wouldn't even let me finish my question. She just kept ranting about how she's the only person that works their when their are like 3 other employees up front so I was confused. I've met her in person and she act the same very rude. But all the people in the back like the doctors and nurses are very nice and do a good job which is why I want to come back to them. They constantly call to cancel appointments (or wait until you show up and let you know that your appointment has been changed to later in the day or a completely different day.) Very nice staff, very professional and clean office. The problem I have is that they always run behind with the appointments and you end up spending more time in the waiting room than in the chair. Out of 10 appointments I had in the past, the least I had to wait was 45 min. More than ones they ran over one hour behind. Unacceptable!!! What's the purpose to have an appointment then? Gateway gets a "0" from me!! In the past they have always been helpful until my son crossed over into Orthodontics. Don't get me wrong.. The Orthodontist is a wonderful/informative lady. The problem I have is w/ the Office Manager Rosa!!! Rosa has given incorrect information concerning billing/insurance. The prices that were quoted to me were incorrect. Plus she was determined to set me up on a payment plan stating that neither of my son's insurances will cover needed treatment. (I am aware that there will be some out of packet cost!! But the entire $6000???) This info was 100% incorrect!!! Instead of stating that a mistake was made and lets find a solution.... She did offer to have the needed work pre auth from the insurance company... again stated this would take weeks.. (Solution.. simple customer service 101!! Pick up the phone and get needed answers ASAP for your paying customer!!!)Prior I ask for feedback... I received none. I was told the lady that handles the Ortho billing would call me.. no feedback. I ask to speak to the dentist. I was told he was unavailable. I do enough medical coding & billing to know when something is wrong. I have done my research and plan to take this to the next level!! I have had x-rays, whitening, cleanings from basic to under the gum, and I am working towards orthodontics. Gateway Dental Group has a great staff that is always willing to answer your questions from explaining the treatment to billing. Dr. Reid works with the patient on treatment plans and goals. I really feel like the staff is working with me to achieve my dental hygiene goals and has taken my finances into account to pace out treatment and make it feasible. I'm 67 years old and do not have dental insurance. I simply wanted about a $300 teeth whitening procedure. After x-rays in consultation I was told I needed deep cleaning, one extraction, and replacing a small bottom tooth silver crown with a porcelain crown. I was told that needed to be done prior to the whitening procedure. After some high pressure sales techniques I agree to the $3,900 procedures. When I went back to get the new crown replaced I expected to do the whitening at the same time but I was told that that wasn't included with the estimate... also when extracting my molar he didn't give me enough pain meds so it took everything I had to keep from jumping out of the chair. So try to read the fine print and don't let them speed you through so fast they can slip things past you. And you better be pretty tough to handle the extra pain. You would think for 2 hours of their time, and nearly $4,000 I could have got a little bit of whitening thrown in. read more

I recently went in for an inlay* (not sure of spelling) and they informed me both on the telephone and again in person that it would take no more than 1 hr. I am a single father and had to find a place for my kids to go based on that information. There was a backlog at the milling machine and I was in chair for greater than three hours! I get that things happen and delays are expected, but to grossly misjudge a person's time to the power of three is mismanagement and should have been warned prior to them hacking out half my tooth and making me wait. I'm very dissatisfied with the service and caution all others to make sure you have enough time to devote to Gateways predictive lead times. Needless to say, I'll be finding a new dentist. read more

I will never go back here. I had switched dental insurance and decided on Gateway Dental for a cleaning and check-up. They insisted that a cleaning was not going to work and that I needed "root-scaling" done. I found out later this is something certain dental offices push as a scare-tactic and money-maker. They also told me one of my fillings was getting old so I needed a crown (which they could conveniently complete that same day). They tried to upsell me on over $1500 in out-of-pocket procedures until I finally convinced them I just wanted to do the procedures covered by insurance. Not a pleasant experience at all. read more

I went into this office to have a procedure done and the price that was quoted to me seemed a bit off. I called my insurance company to find out what my policy allotted and went forward with the procedure thinking that everything would be corrected in the billing. When all was said and done I was charged almost 1000 for a procedure that my explanation of benefits says they could only charge me around 500. I called my insurance company and asked them what they could charge now that they had all the proper codes and full list of procedures that were done. I was told that this office was in the wrong and now a formal complaint is being submit to correct their wrongdoings. I am extremely upset by the fact that this office would charge so much over what was allowed. I'm never going to this office again and I would warn anyone who plans on it to seek other offices out. read more

The technology is state-of-the-art, no more of those sharp plastic things that cut into your gums to take bitewings. They went over all my options and the cost thoroughly. Well not be returning. In March 2010, I came in to get a crown and was in the office for almost 4 hours because the dentist had two other patients at the same time. Had be not already numbed me I would have got up and left. I really wish I would have because two years later... I'm being told that my crown does not fit right and if I don't get it replaced then I will risk losing my tooth altogether. So now I have to pay AGAIN because the job was not done right the first time. read more

Everyone in this office is always very pleasant. I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lam and have not had any complaints other than the normal pain you would expect. I love my dentist, Dr. Jensby! Dr. Reed did really good work on my teeth. The staff did a good job explaining what work was important and what work could be put off (because I am on a limited budget). Overall I am happy with getting my fillings replaced. The drawbacks that I found was that they were a little pricey (but worth the quality) and I could not adjust my payment plan. I wanted to do a 4 month payment plan but put $200 of the $500 down and they would only let me put $75 down. I wish their payment plan was a little more flexible but again, they did great work. read more

Beware, make sure you read the fine print on the coupon. if you expect to get a teeth cleaning you better make sure your gums dont bleed or have any other problems. They will x-ray your teeth, evaluate them and tell you that you need $3000.00 worth of stuff done, if you dont do it, then they dont clean your teeth and you are out $39.00. I spent over $2,000 to fix, repair and replace the shoddy work performed on 3 different teeth from this office! I left for so many reasons, cement being left in my gum line after a crown was just one reason - I later needed a root canal because I developed an infection! An onlay also failed after 3 yrs and I was left with a decaying tooth that now needed a crown. I had to spend $1,200 of my own money to fix it, because 3 yrs was not long enough for the insurance company to cover their portion. I tried to work with him several times to get some sort of compensation, but was ignored. Run the other way, unless YOU want to spend thousands of dollars down the road to fix everything they have done! read more
