Dr. Wallace ordered an MRI which is conveniently located in the Joint Replacement Institute practice. His staff worked with my insurance when they first denied coverage even though it was the last few days of the year and my family had more than met the deductible. The MRI was covered and revealed a 50% torn rotator cuff and Dr. Wallace suggested PRP (Plasma Rich Platelets). Blood is drawn from the patient and spun to produce PRP which contains a mixture of platelets, including cytokines and growth factors, and has anti-inflammatory properties which injected into an injury site can stimulate the healing process. I have truly been more than pleased with the results. I no longer have shoulder pain including when I lay on my side and I am working my way back up to push-ups and heavier weights in the gym. As a surgeon, Dr. Wallace looks for non-surgical remedies when they are an option. I explained my daughter is having an emergency tonsillectomy surgery this morning @ physicians regional Hospital because her throat is bleeding and she couldn't breathe Tina the horrible front office staff person just argued with me and told me that's their policy. even after knowing it was an emergency tonsillectomy, her position remained the same. In addition i reminded her I had been a shoulder surgery patient of Dr. Guerra's - she just raised her voice and said that's policy Then I called upstairs and Tia gave me the same nonsense Good doctors, horrible staff

I was not told of risk factors prior to…read moresurgery, had a "spontaneous" femur fracture 7 days after surgery requiring complete revision surgery, was told that the cause of the fracture was due to my age and weight (but never told of this risk prior to surgery). In rehab, nurses, caregivers and therapists could not reach him or his office staff for follow-up instructions. I was unable to reach the office on several occasions, even when my question was urgent. My star rating would be a -2 if possible. Beware.

I intentionally scheduled an appointment for the morning time, 10am to avoid waiting time. I sat out in the lobby for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I was then called back and sat in the examining room for an additional 45 minutes before I saw the doctor. Two hours after my scheduled time!!! The office was open at 8am, My appointment was at 10am. How do you get backed up 2 hours behind schedule when you've only been open for 2 hours???? Bad scheduling! At 11:15am I met a friend in the lobby that had an 11am appointment. She was livid when she found out mine was at 10am and I still hadn't been called. Other in the lobby expressed the same disgust. This is a total disregard for patients. Our time is valuable too. Why schedule patients so close together? $$$$$$$ first patients second. This office needs to treat its patients with more respect.
