This is a newer Gate and seems to be less crowded than any of the other ones I have been in. The crew is pretty much all the same at the times I am there. They are great. Helpful and funny at the same time. Store is very, very clean for a convenience store. Products are all well placed and attractively displayed. I don't mind going here and due to the necessity of it will not stop patronizing this convenience store. Gotta have that gas and WHAT NOT.

But the floors were sticky throughout the entire store. The coffee area was a huge mess. It was later at night, they were not busy at all, there were plenty of employees (none who were friendly), so I just couldn't understand why the store was such a mess. When I'm in the area, I'll continue to stop here for gas or to pick up a soda, etc. But it's certainly not up to Gate standards, especially since they pride themselves on being "The Publix of Gas Stations."

Well, I…read morefinished pumping my money ($4.10/ gallon) into my tank and being the absent minded professor that I am when I'm stressed, I left my gas tank lid open as well as lid cover. As I was about to pull away, the nice gas station attendant tapped on my window and with the nicest smile and a "good morning" informed me that my gas tank lid was still open. I know this is a small thing, but simple gestures like that mean a lot. This has happened I hate to say before, and I have found that some people just don't care. I wish I had had the presence of mind to catch his name to tell him how that nice gesture made my morning. :-) P.S: was bothering me so much that I didn't catch his name that I drove back around to thank him properly. This station has gone through many updates over the years; they're always trying to improve. I remember the days when they had a little pay stand in the middle of the pumps (before paying at the pump was prevalent). The staff has always been super nice whenever we go inside and the store is always clean.

They also have a counter along one of the windows with stools so you can sit to eat. I see a lot of construction workers in here eating on their lunch break. Gas is about the cheapest you'll find in the area, so it's a good place to fill up. There are plenty of pumps, so there usually isn't a wait to get to one. They also have free air here for your tires. Then, of course, they have the usual like any convenience store like cigs, soda, beer, and snacks.

Also they have a collection of interesting junk food like Conchas, Mexican sweet bread. With the high foot traffic their coffee is bound to be fresh. If you're into sodas you can buy their refillable cup & your next refill is only 90 cents. I've on a few occasions tried their Tamale. It's not doughy but actually has decent filling. If you're into frozen yogurt they have Yobe. But lookout as a cupful with topping can get quite pricey. I think the reason why their food is decent is they let their employees test their food at their kitchen at the headquarters. My friend who works for Gate shared this with me. It's like their internal focus group. Maybe that's how they keep their food offerings appealing to all. There's so much more to Gate than just gas. Aside from food they also sell lottery & even have blood pressure machine similar to a Higi station at Publix. Lucky me I don't have to go far to take advantage of this convenience store.

Also, she makes homemade kimchi and some other mitbanchan which are for sale in a fridge by the cash register--and it's excellent kimchi. Honestly, this is all I come here for, really. The bad: The rest of the store is inferior in terms of variety and quality of products overall compared to New World over on Beach. Check the dates on stuff: some things seemingly have been here since the Joseson Dynasty. The ugly: This store is in a really sketchy strip mall. How sketchy? There's a hella sketchy strip club on one side and a store selling outfits for strippers on the other. Nothing against strippers, but you know, it's just a place that doesn't attract always the best of people to the parking lot. And the building is in rather poor repair, too. However, Soriya Food Market is next to this strip mall and while it also looks super-sketch, it's a lovely Cambodian market and you're going to find fruits and meat items there you just don't find elsewhere. Honestly, I just come here for the kimchi and mitbanchan and because the owners are so nice. I will also get a large bag of rice when here to give them a little more business and their rice is always fine. I am serious about checking dates on other products here though--not being mean, it's just the situation it seems.

The place is small, but has many grocery items. From instant ramen noodles, to frozen goods (gyoza, dumplings, meat, etc.) They also have different types of produce (cabbage, dakon, kimchi, mushrooms, bamboo, tofu, etc.) It's a little crowded and the aisles are a little bit tight, but not as bad. There are also a variety of snacks, sesame oil, and noodles. They also sell some kitchen utensils and bowls as well. The prices in this store is reasonable and affordable compare to other grocery stores. The owner is super nice and kind. I said thank you to him in Korean and he was very happy. When you buy a lot from him, he gives you a free item (my grandma and I both got a free pastry). Overall, it's a nice small/welcoming store with a nice variety of goods. If you need help with anything, the owner doesn't will show you where things are.

Stay away!! So many…read morepeople enter this Gate location with no mask. The employees don't say anything to them. This is my 3rd visit in the last month and each time the same. The store had over 40 people in it and only a few with masks. The employees should speak up. Whoever the cashier was wasn't friendly nor helpful with ny ex asked about one of their griller items. Go visit the one in Jacksonville Beach for better service.
