Then my son had a steak with spätzle with cheese (Käsespâtzle) and my husband had something of the "smaller food" menu, a Rösti with mushrooms, ham and gravy, which sounds weird but was delicious. Also btw it wasn't all that small, so don't count on those entrees being genuinely small, even though they're in that section of the menu. I had the best thing, steak with herb butter, gravy. and roasted potatoes - it was so delicious! If you love German food you will love this restaurant! Can't remember his name but he spoke like 8 languages. We asked for recommendations for local beers and he absolutely did not disappoint -- everything he suggested was spot on. You can tell he really knew the menu and the local brews. We tried both of their soups, and wow. The goulash was probably one of the better ones my husband has had in his life -- rich, flavorful, and perfectly done. I can definitely see this being a great space for a get-together with friends or even just a casual happy hour. We're so glad we stumbled across this gem -- shoutout to our hotel concierge for the recommendation!

Would have loved to know about the factory lunch earlier but it was after 1:15pm when we were ready to eat. Son had the currywurst, a seasoned brat with sauce, served with fries/"chips", others had the burger, I had the sirloin with spätzle. Currywurst received a solid review from a picky eater, burgers were too well done for two out of three, but I enjoyed my steak - cooked perfectly medium - but the sauce wasn't my favorite. It was like a barbecue A1 ketchup. The caramelized onions saved it from the sauce. It would have been better with a simple brown gravy or pepper sauce, especially to dip the spätzle in. Dry burgers and steak sauce lost that extra star. Service was phenomenal, local red wine was tart and refreshing. Prices were decent. Hope this helps others!

He shrugs it off with the words "we don't force anybody to order food, if you want food you have to tell me". Every interaction with the owner made him seem very arrogant and presumptuous. The owner has been in the food service industry for over 20 years, but the service is absurd. After googling I came across an interview where he said "You have to have this profession in your blood", which clearly he doesn't. Needles to say, while reading other reviews this isn't because he has had a bad day, but rather a reoccurring behavior. The food was good and the premise looks good. I really wanted to come back here. Not with the current owner though.
