Best thing I can say about this place is that the staff is super friendly and courteous. They really go out of their way to provide you with exceptional service. The second best thing I can say is the the food is really good and at a great price. We ordered the mixed family pack which came with a bunch of flautas, birria tacos, quesadilla, wings, fries, birria sauce, salsa, queso, sour cream, all for only $25. Our party of 5 could barely finish it. The only thing I wish is if the wings were crispier. But for bar good, it's outstanding. You must hit this place up! read more

Love their Rolled Tacos and atmosphere. The server was attentive and took care of us. Good place to eat and hang out with friends.

Best birria on the west side. The bartenders are always kind. Never rush. The music is great. Awesome for large groups. And great for dancing. read more

I am super happy to report that Gasoline Ray's still has $1 birria tacos for Taco Tuesday and $2 Tecates and the Yueling was like a dollar more. I love the atmosphere because people leave you alone, which is great because I'm not there for the conversation, I'm there for the food. My friend and I sat at the bar and the food was coming out fairly quickly and for some reason there were just chicks like us at the bar. I kept seeing the same orders coming out and asked them what they ordered and they said it was a hidden house menu item, the rolled tacos with birria sauce. Whoa, crunchy rolled flautas in the amazing birria sauce? Game on! Cut to the chase, it was really really good but super duper spicy! I'm a wimp and this had me crying and taking deep breaths to control the fire. One order came with 4 flautas and by my 4th one I couldn't taste them anymore over the burn. I believe it was $8 for an order. I'll come back, but until I build up a tolerance for spicy foods, I'll just stick to the $1 birria tacos on Taco Tuesday. read more

Gasoline Ray's Dive Bar - Queso was pretty good - Tacos Near Me - El Paso, Texas

Gasoline Ray's is a Dive Bar without being "dirty divey". I like the atmosphere and the bartenders are always really friendly. No draft beer BUT the beers are ice cold which I appreciate. The last time we were there the bartender was alone and super busy and when we asked he was happy to put 6 beers in a bucket for us which helped him and kept us happy and our beers full. We've only ordered food once in the few times we've been there. At the suggestion of the bartender we had the rolled tacos/flautas and for me the food was just Ok. I'm not saying it was bad but based on other reviews I guess I just expected more. Not to worry though. We'll be back for the beer and the atmosphere. read more

Great place!! It's got a oldie rock dive bar. They have leather couches and a bar with old rock playing, nice vibe of the place and a license plate wall that really fits. Service is great, quite a wait on the day I went because they have the bartender running the room as well, but we got chips and salsa tray for the wait though. Love the service once ag We had a nice lunch though. Drinks were so good, got the cucumber margarita and the butterfly shrimp (lemon pepper). The shrimp was quite lemony but amazing. read more

Great afternoon!!! Service was terrific, food was WAY BEYOND "bar food" in quality, and prices are incredible. Great sound system! I wish I could rent the couch for the night!! Warm, comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. I'd like to start the experience all over again. read more

Came here on a Tuesday. Someone from work had mentioned they do taco Tuesday with good Birria tacos and cheap beers. The tacos were $1 for chicken and $1.50 each for birria. The chicken tacos were a bit plain in that they came with just chicken on a tortilla. If it had some cheese, onion, or cilantro that would have instantly improved it. The birria tacos were great and flavorful. The consume was rich. I believe the beers were $2 or so for a Tecate when we had gone. The bar had a great vibe and was neither crowded nor empty. Overall, I could see myself going back to this bar for a taco Tuesday fix. read more

New favorite place! While it says "dive bar" in the name, the decor and ambiance screams more so craft-beer place. Food is amazing!! Service is great! The owner is super-friendly ...he actually delivered our food to the table (the hottest (to the touch) that I've ever had food delivered!) We saw him also make the rounds and speak to each customer/table. Will definitely be back!! read more

So went here during Covid to meet up with my bestie. We wanted to check this little divey place out bc it's over Transmountain Mt. from the Northeast and off the freeway-ish coming from Las Cruces, NM to Westside. So good meet up location for us! So the place is really dark but open-space with bar seating, a long tall shared-table, couches, bar tables and others. There's a huge LOUD fan right at the entrance so if you're trying to "talk/catch up" don't sit at the entrance! We sat in the back couch area and it was really cozy and warm almost?... the music was good, playlist varied . People mostly stayed with their group. We tried two dishes. Rolled tacos SOOoOo good!'! (Their Chico's tacos version but WAY better). The meat is NOT burned crispy with old oil lol I ate it all and one to go. My friend tried the birra tacos but she didn't like that greasiness but I think that's how birra tacos . I tasted one and I thought it was tasty... The owner came out later on and was very amicable and welcoming. Overall a nice time! PS. If you're overly- OCD covid. This is not the place for you. It's very laid back chill. read more

It was a darn environment but the food absolutely makes up for it!! Besides, I work nights and prefer it that way!! The music was great too! The chaise were high tops.. I think I'd prefer the couches in the back! We had birilla tacos and got a burrito to go!! Love the tacos!! read more

Atmosphere is nice. Cute little hole in the wall. Friday's Ray's is PACKING!! Still a great atmosphere though. The bartenders are so attentive to everyone and so so sweet. They're why my girlfriend and I keep coming back! And if you try anything there, try the birria tacos, they're FIRE! Only note would be that Ray's allows for more diversity in the music just because there are a handful of non Spanish speaking people who walk through the doors. But obviously beggars can't be choosers when it is El Paso. Overall though, the experience is nice and my girlfriend and I will be back! read more

I came to this place for the first time tonight and it was super disappointing. I got "birria ramen" and all it basically was is instant maruchan with a bit of birria, cheese, and literally no juice. $10 for that. we also got the birria tacos and they had no flavor really and were served with very little consome compared to other restaurants. it was disappointing and definitely not worth the money paid. read more

Visited Gasoline Ray's at their expanded location at 4907 Crossroads. Went there for lunch and had the pleasure of seeing Azzam the owner and chef. I asked him what he recommended and he said you need to try the Mediterranean Bowl. Wow! Was he right The Falafel was done crisp but not dry, The Grape Leaves were so very tasty and the Hummus In the center of all this deliciousness was a Salad with Fava Beans on the side. Unbelievable price of $10. I thought I was picking Azzam's pocket!!! Along with the meal I asked the Arliss the bartender/waitress what were today's drink specials. One of the specials was Hornitos Tequila. My friend and I ordered Hornitos Margaritas. Arliss makes them from scratch. Each drink had individual fresh squeezed limes. The service was terrific. In addition Gasoline Ray's has some terrific Rock & Roll and Blues Bands performing on weekends. Hope to see you all there at Azzam's new location. read more

Good food, excellent drinks and friendly bartenders. Plenty of parking and smaller crowds. Great place for karaoke and happy hour. No grapefruit juice but that seems to be a pattern in El Paso. read more

Great music, great drinks!! The staff was very friendly! This would be a great place to hang out. It was packed and everyone was so friendly and were singing and dancing everywhere. This bar is chill, nice decor, inviting and tasteful. This area needed a bar like this. The leather couches are so comfortable. The wood in the ceiling goes well with the decor. Awesome, accent brick wall. Just perfect bar decor. Their tacos are good, wings are big and tasty, the shrimp was huge and the dipping sauce is so good. Bar tenders know what they're doing and if they don't have it they'll get close to your drink. Clean bar and the music is greatly selected by its patrons. Over all great bar. I will definitely keep going. read more

This place has a wonderful environment and is so cute inside and out with GREAT FOOD and GREAT prices as well as their staff very friendly and sweet, except for one girl named "Jackie". Constantly serving drunk while drinking on the job becoming incoherent. I have to ask or reminder her several times to bring our order and or drinks. Very much a shame such a wonderful place would hire someone so off putting and sloppy. read more

Best rolled tacos I've had. Fancier version of Chico's with a red Chile based sauce. Topped with crema, red cabbage and queso fresco(May be feta). You know how you drink the Chico's sauce? You'll be doing the same here. The birria tacos are excellent as well. Greasy in a good way. Their other tacos are very good also. Live music some evenings and cold beer...que más quieres? read more

I have been there a couple of times with my mom and cousin and we all had their great fish tacos. Food is ok. Found hair in my water. The bartender Anastacia is extremely rude and curt. I won't be coming back here.

We came because of the name and it was close. It's actually too nice and clean to be a dive bar. The TVs are on sports and car stuff. Drinks and service were good. I like that it's in this little mall place with a dog grooming and laundromat close by. read more

Make bar tender on Friday nights is a total jerk who can't even be bothered to get you drinks on a non-busy night. While we were already ordering he literally stopped taking our order to go help one of his friends get a beer. As I was trying to pass through a tight area to go to the restroom he pushed past me and I smacked a wall (I'm a small female), he didn't even apologize. With better staff and customer service this bar would be a nice chill place. read more
