I can't even begin to to tell you how comfortable and amazing my experience has been with Dr. Gay…read more I finally bit the bullet and went to the dentist. At the time of my initial appointment I hadn't been to the dentist in about 10 years (I know, shame on me) so I was a little nervous going on. I had this fear that I'd be shamed or judged and be made to look careless about my oral hygiene. I experienced none of that. My appointment started with an initial consultation with Dr. Gay that included my background, my goals, his goals for me and a general plan of action. It proceeded on to x-rays etc with another discussion about the status of my mouth. From there Dr. Gay laid out my exact issues with both teeth and gums, and the steps we would take, while making sure to treat me without blowing through my insurance limits. He made sure to convey to me the importance of treating the issues with my oral health in a way that wasn't condescending or judgemental. He seems like he truly cares about getting his patients back to great health (he mentions often how he feels bad when people say they hate going to the dentist). The office staff from the hygienists to the reception team is fantastic. The location is prime (great views of the city). And the entire process has been painless ;) I'm glad I did a little research to find Dr. Gay and his team because it's given me a new found appreciation for the treatment of my teeth and gums and I can thank Dr. Gay for it.

I was going to write a long piece about how Dr Gay ('Skip' to his staff and clients) has almost -…read morenot quite, but almost - taken away my prior phobia about dentists. About how his hygienist has a marvelously calming attitude and how his front desk staff are lovely and generally accommodating to my scheduling needs. About how understanding he is to my financial concerns when potential costs for work look like being expensive and how fantastically he willingly - and speedily - looked after my elderly father's dental emergency whilst on holiday with us from England (and then refused to charge us anything for his professional assistance). About how, after any kind of dental surgery, he calls you personally in the evening to see how you're faring and to find out if there's any problems he can address. Then I realized I can sum up how good a dentist he is with one sentence.... I am British and he has successfully managed to deal with MY teeth! That is all.

I needed an extraction of a molar that had previously had a root canal. Dr Krishnan did a through exam and explained his recommended course of action giving me plenty of opportunity to ask questions and provide my own input. I saw a different oral surgeon (at another practice) before Dr Krishnan and appreciated that Dr Krishnan involved me in the plan (a major weakness at some practices). Sedation was well prepped and seamless. Carla, my nurse, did a fantastic job reviewing the process and getting me ready for the procedure. All I remember after that point was Dr Krishnan starting sedation. I remember Amy, the assistant, setting things up and she was also very friendly. Amy wheeled me out to my sister's car after the procedure. I took ibuprofen as prescribed and had very little pain after the procedure. Overall, my experience at this office was excellent. I would definitely recommend this practice.

I was allowed to schedule an appointment months out only to have my referral rejected after being told it was sufficient at the time of scheduling. Due poor record keeping at scheduling my phone number was recorded incorrectly and they failed to contact me, and would not allow me to reschedule until the referral is rescheduled and processed (another 10 days to process). Glad I'll be put on another two months wait list when I go to schedule with no sympathy for being told incorrectly about referrals, having taken my number incorrectly, or the urgency of my case with infection and recurrent pain from impacted teeth (I called multiple times to try and get my appointment bumped up). Thanks UC.

He kept his promise. I was awake during the procedure, and saw him working with his resident doctor, and how meticulous he was in guiding him to do everything aspect of his assist with exacting precision. Dr. Krishnan installed the implant, and made sure the resident sutured the surgical area perfectly. During my recovery, I followed his instructions, and with regular Ibuprofen, felt no pain and virtually no discomfort at all. Unlike a previous implant by another oral surgeon, under Dr. Krishnan's care, the recovery was easy, and the implant integrated beautifully into my jaw bone. Dr. Krishnan is an excellent oral surgeon who demonstrated excellent technical expertise and a deep concern and care for his patients. He answered all my questions, which were many, fully and graciously. I also felt his costs were very reasonable compared with other oral surgeons. I highly recommend him.

A New Year's resolution to use my newly acquired health benefits put me to task of finding…read moreproviders a few years ago. What did I look for in a dentist? A conveniently located office taking new patients. For a teeth cleaning, what else did I need? Dr. McDonald's office met the criteria, and I've been going back every six months for a few years now. With my regular cleaning/check-up, I'm pretty sure I'm the most boring patient he sees (check out his website of specialties and conditions). The hygienist (whose name is escaping me) is friendly and gentle. She's only there on Mondays and Thursdays during regular business hours; which could be a draw back. The 8th floor view of Clifton while your teeth get a little polish isn't half bad either. This is a pretty old-school practice; I came from one that used ultrasound to detect cavities and had a little pen camera to take pictures of any issues and project them on a screen for you. Those bells and whistles are great; but really, I don't have a lot of issues with a few bite wings and cleaning to do the job. (Again, knowing his specialties, these types are things probably wouldn't be used in the majority of the practice.) Unless you LOVE having someone else's hands in your mouth for thirty minutes, or there's suddenly a non-invasive dental practice, I'm not sure that a dentist could ever get five stars. All of the staff are friendly, they've always run on time, parking is validated, and who doesn't love a free toothbrush? All of these things make this practice a-ok in my book!

In addition to his assessment he paid a great deal of attention to my personal life (really personal questions) and was very condescending. He stated that my problems stemmed from too much stress and recommended that I see a psychiatrist. He made me feel like all I do is work which is actually not true (I walk marathons = lots of time training because no one walks that fast). I cried during most of the visit due to intractable pain feeling like I was being berated. Dr McDonald did give me medication that made me really drowsy (I couldn't drive with them) but they did help a little. Lucky for me, I actually had a sinus infection which drained about a week later and I am completely pain free. I will not be returning to see this provider.
