Being hit with an insane total I found out that if I use the single cans sitting there (in a mess) to make up a case with several flavors I get charged the single can price. Can price for a small can one flavor case is $2.37. Putting them together myself for more than one flavor it goes up to $2.79 each. I changed and chose two cases / single flavors. $4.11 extra for paying with my card. Checked with the person I was buying for and she was horrified too at their extortionate prices. Decided to return the cans - unopened cases bought two hours earlier - and they made like they were doing me a huge favor. They are not returning the card processing fee. They charged me immediately but I have to wait 3-5 business DAYS for my refund. Dr Gerrity makes $8.3 million a year and yet apparently still has to extort naive customers. Because we are blind and easy prey when it comes to our pets. The vet assistants were all very nice and polite and had ABSOLUTELY NO interest in making ANYTHING RIGHT. I sincerely recommend staying away from there.

Our Vets were Cornell University Vet School Trained. Two associates in the practice graduated from University of Michigan. Our Vets have been an integral part of our lives and as important to us as our own doctors. Without hesitation, all of the Vets at Valley Oak have been far more knowledgeable about medications and their potential long and short term side effects for different breeds of dogs, as well as alternative less evasive treatments and root causes for conditions and illnesses. Our 14 year old dog had teeth removed due to infection and deterioration. At that time, the surgeon who removed the teeth is the same someone who has one of the highest reputations for canine surgeries in the Bay Area. It was our great honor to meet him after hearing of him and reading so much about him. You can research him yourself. Valley Oak will give you his name. Not knowing how long this Post will be up before you read it, please call to see who the surgeons are when you take your animals there. Thoroughly research and ask questions of every surgeon who cuts into your animal. Another attribute of Valley Oak that set them apart for me was their pure love for animals that every cat and dog that came in when I have been repeatedly there, picked up on. You can gauge your own pet's response. My 14 year old dog (2025) never been more relaxed at the Vet even after surgery. Some of us got into this conversation in the waiting room. This is a great place to bring your animal. But it's also a great place to be as the vibe is exceptional and the collegiately among the Vets and Techs heartwarming. Update: Reading the updated reviews and there has been a turnover, I cannot confirm the Vets I used are still there. Ask lots of questions. Remember, you are hiring them to do a job for you and your pet.

I've had a couple of cats in my life... Only one had had diabetic symptoms…read more I'd taken him to the vet clinic in Saratoga - I'm not gonna mention them by name. The point is, Dr. Gerrity is much more advanced, in terms of modern technology. I've had my cat - Max - for over 10 years! He's my savior! Yet, he was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago. He'd never been diabetic before. But, he was prescribed a "Vetsulin " by the clinic. The clinic is kinda far from where I live, so every trip there was a huge disturbance to Max. Then, I'd discovered Dr. Gerrity, who was within less than 1.5 miles away. She recommended that I put a blood glucose sensor on Max. Which I did. She had also prescribed a different Insulin type for him. And what do you know? After only 3 injections, Max went into remission!! It had now been nearly 3 weeks - and I didn't have to give him insulin!!! That's after over a year of him being on Vetsulin, which didn't do anything for him. So, I'd say, Dr. Gerrity knows a lot more about how to keep your pet healthy and safe. She seems like someone who GENUINELY cares about your pet! Be it a dog, a cat, or anything in between. I know I'd trust her with my own life. If she cares THAT much about my cat - absolutely, YES!!!

1 Star -- Traumatic experience, lack of post-operative care and compassion…read more I am sharing this because I truly wish I had read the warnings before trusting this clinic with my dog. On February 10, my senior dog underwent an eye enucleation performed by Dr. Evans at Soquel Animal Hospital. After having his eye surgically removed -- a major procedure -- he was sent home without antibiotics and without any pain medication. Within a few days, his surgical site became infected and began leaking. I called the hospital Monday because it was clear something was wrong. I was told Dr. Evans was on duty, but that he "did not have adequate time" to see my dog, and we were advised to go to an emergency hospital instead. What followed was heartbreaking. My dog required emergency care, additional medications, and ultimately a second corrective surgery with a specialist to repair complications from the first procedure. This meant more anesthesia, more suffering for him, and thousands of dollars in additional expense that could likely have been avoided with appropriate post-operative care and follow-up. Watching your animal suffer after you trusted a professional to help them is devastating. What has stayed with me most is the lack of humanity and accountability. Sending an animal home after major surgery without infection prevention or pain control is unacceptable. Refusing to evaluate a post-operative patient with complications is even worse. After this experience, I went back and read other reviews and found concerning patterns. I deeply regret not doing that beforehand. Please advocate strongly for your pets. Ask exactly what medications are being given, what should be sent home, and what happens if complications occur. I would never want another family to go through what we did.

Every time my husband and I have been here (with at least four different pets through the last 10-15 years ranging from mild to very serious) the care and veterinary expertise has been very good.
