Darren, a nice enough man. A very fast worker, seemed too fast though and had an answer for…read moreeverything regarding his subpar workmanship. I live in a new construction home. One owner. One carpet. One resident, me. The carpet wasn't the top of the line nor was it the bottom. It was pass the builders warranty so, I sought out Darren. Hire local small business owners. I being the only person living in the home, the foot traffic is very light. As with many homes in my subdivision we all developed carpet wrinkles. Darren said, the wrinkles are because they weren't properly stretched. After his estimate and his schedule, I hired him to stretch one bedroom, dining room with adjoining living room, a hallway and two stair landings. The other three bedrooms and the media room did not need stretching. The original carpet installers actually did a good job at hiding the seams as Darren had a hard time detecting the seams in my hallway and near my entry way. He had to reopen up three seams to restretch. One area the length of the kitchen and the joining livingroom he pounded about 20 staples through the carpet into the tack strip under the carpet after stretching When he was finished, I walked about. I brought it to his attention that you could still see the wrinkle lines, though not raised, the now reopened and resealed seams, which you didn't see before as it was even hard for him to find the original seams.  Also the new inserted tack indents in the carpet. Around the bedroom door frame you could see the carpet was now all puckered. And the wrinkles on the landing were still there. He assured me the creases from the wrinkles would disappear, the seams would reblend and as would the tack indents once I vacuumed and steamed cleaned. I steam cleaned and vacuumed. I even purchased a carpet rake and raked with each vacuum. They never did disappeared. They never blended. I emailed him and he did come over promptly. I was happy he was going to fix them, so I thought. The excuses began. He took no ownership in his work and said well, I don't know what you want me to do as he rubbed his face with one hand and the other on his hip. He said, I could pull out the staples but your carpet would curl. (Oh... It wasn't curling before I thought. What about the tack strip?) He told me I could buy a seam roller to reloop the seams he had opened and resealed. Gee, I thought, wouldn't he have one? Before he said the carpet wasn't stretched properly now it's a worn pad . I thought worn from a woman who weighs 130lbs? I said, really from one person, just me in this house? I didn't debate it with him anymore. It's like I made an exchange from bad to the worse. My previous wrinkled carpet for a now obvious seams, creases and tack indents that look like dimples the size of a fingertip carpet. Had I known what the exchange would be, I would rather have my wrinkly carpet back.  And I would hired someone who doesn't work out of their home. I'd use a larger company like my neighbors did who guarantees their work instead of saying, well, I don't know what you want me to do. You learn.

Darren is the best. We have three dogs and have used him for almost 15 years. He is reliable and…read moreprices are fair. He has even helped us with some emergency after hours work when a pipe in the house broke and flooded our carpets. Great service at a great price hard to find these days.
