Kyle had successfully done my blonde before, which made this experience especially disappointing. I…read morecame in with an established formula and clear expectations, but he took my hair much darker and made it far too solid. The result is a flat, dull, mousy brown with none of the brightness or dimension I wanted. When I told him I was unhappy, he was dismissive and rude. He insisted his judgment was right, told me the lighter blonde made me look "washed out," and said I was "too old" to be blonde? The attitude was very much his way or the highway. His opinion seemed to matter more than what I, the paying client, actually wanted. I found the interaction condescending, egotistical, and unprofessional. I was so upset by both the result and the way I was treated that I cried all the way home.

That's just how you feel when you leave. Cleanliness is top notch, products are out of this world and I love that they try different brands and get feed back from their clients. I love it. It keeps me from buying something over the counter that may not work and then I'm stuck with it. I book three to six appointments out in advance and sometimes the full year. If I ever need to change my appointment there is no hassle and they work with me but in return I work with them. That's just building a smart relationship. I love this place!

I debated leaving this review as I have had great experience with previous massages and facials- my…read moremost recent being in May. I went this past weekend for a massage and facial and left a bit dissapointed. My massage was great, even though I think it's absurd to pay extra for aromatherapy when that literally sets the tone and vibe for a massage. The masseuse did a wonderful job addressing my problem areas. On to my facial- the esthetician, Raleigh, was friendly. I scheduled the dermaplane facial. She didn't assess my skin before the facial, didn't ask about problem areas, didn't even tell me what she planned to do for my face. I let her know that I was interested the Oxygen facial and wanted her input for what I was trying to achieve for my skin- brightening and even texture, but said I'll let her tell me what my skin needs. Her only response was "this is a dermaplane facial". And that was it. After it started I asked if there was a heated blanket on the bed as it was cold. She checked and said there wasn't. That's it. She continually used a lukewarm, thin rag on my face through out the session. Afterwards, as I was getting up to my robe back on, I noticed Ordinary skin products on the counter. Not sure if this was used on my face but this is a dissapointment that they utilize these cheap products on anyone given how expensive their services are. When I walked out of the room, she showed me to my locker, said thank you and that was all. Nothing telling me about my skin or services as others had done in this very place. Overall this service alone has deterred me from coming back as I can get better services, better product elsewhere. It felt rushed and almost like she was there to do her job only, not to offer the customer experience one expects when coming to the Retreat.

Today was my first time at Cucumber & Mint at West Lake Commons and they have a client for life…read more From the moment I stepped in, I was treated by staff like a cherished friend. The "lobby" is stunning- expertly curated, surpassing "boutique" and feeling more like a high end spa in Chicago or New York, and showcases the products used in the spa as well as other luxury gift items. Once you've checked in, you're welcomed into a true spa waiting area, a feature so often overlooked in off-resort spa venues, where you're given time to unwind before your booked experience. The lighting and ambiance is *chef's kiss* - you can sit or lounge, enjoy a snack, water, or cup of hot tea while you wait, or simply just immerse yourself in the multipoint soundscape. I forgot I was in Evans, GA. I had a lymphatic drainage massage and facial with Emily and if nothing else was as I previously described, I'd still come back just to be treated by her. She was such a doll, was thoughtful and thorough, and expertly skilled at what she does. I didn't feel rushed at any point, I felt comfortable throughout, and I didn't feel like a customer- I felt like a cherished client, which is hard to find today. Long story short: I've already booked another service with her in a few weeks. When I checked out I asked about the C&M Reserve membership, which I'd read about online. I asked several clarifying questions, all of which were answered in full by the attendant. Such an insanely good deal and I am so happy I am prioritizing myself at least once a month! Please do not hesitate to book an appointment here and if you're trying to decide between two spas in Augusta- I have tried almost all of them and there are some good ones- Cucumber & Mint can have all of my money.
