Friendly, professional, and efficient. Their phones are ringing off the hook BECAUSE of the good business they do. Cathy is a busy woman but boy does she get the job done! Matt is helpful and informative! When calling the office any other agent who answered the phone was warm and inviting and it seems they all root for each others success and really work as a team!! Would recommend them to anyone. Was a little worried at first when I saw a couple reviews about phone calls/agents being hard to get ahold of but in the process of selling our house and then buying a new one both through Garlocks, I realized they are always working hard for their clients and their busy schedules are just proof of their good work! read more

SO glad to be getting out of our contract with Garlock Realty. Just plain BAD service - astounding laziness to do anything above basic MLS listing and a couple local newspaper ads, straight up ignoring phone calls & taking days to get back to us, dropping the ball on a possible buyer/offer and passive-aggressive emails when questioned about (gasp!) THINGS RELATED TO THEIR JOB. And the icing on the cake was the speed with which they took down their sign and lockbox (the fastest they EVER did anything for us, it should be noted) and, with a maturity and professionalism on par with the rest of their service, locked our keys INSIDE our house - presumably so it would be difficult for us to get them to the next, better, realtor. A message for Matt Garlock specifically - You can't coast on an old family name, you have to actually provide good service to the clients/customer - YOU WORK FOR THEM. I would never NEVER recommend them to anyone, buying or selling. Good riddance! read more

Matt's expertise in helping us sell our house was a good experience. Since he was a native of the area, he had a lot of information for us to consider. I purchased a house through Garlocks almost 4 years ago. I was totally dissatisfied by the level of knowledge and the overall ineptitude of the agent that had the listing I purchased. Since it was her listing I was forced to deal with her throughout the entire process and I quickly realized right away I had more knowledge of real estate and the process of purchasing property than the real estate agent I was working with even though she was in her 50's. Unfortunately she is family and its a family business so it was obvious she got her job not through her abilities but with her last name. I found a number of serious errors in what the agent listed the property as having which affected the price quite substantially and when I pointed out some of these technical errors I realized that she did not understand the difference in what I was saying and obviously this is why the listing was misrepresented. She tended to focus on subjective things like the roominess and the feel of the property rather than the technical nuts and bolts which any buyer places alot more faith in when we are talking big money like buying a house. When I made my offer she tried to talk me out of it saying ohh they will never take it I said go ahead and make the offer thats how this process works they start high I go low and hopefully we meet in the middle somewhere... to her surprise they took my first offer because that truly was the real value of the property and they knew it and it was only $14,000 under their asking so its not like I was making an insulting offer obv since they accepted. My lawyer that was involved from that point on also relayed to me a sense that the agent lacked real knowledge in the field and bordered on unprofessional at times and if anythong complicated the closing. These are nice people and maybe some of the other agents are different especially since this property was only around $100,000 but I wouldnt know and can only relay my experience with this agent. I had the funds to write a check and the agent put off the closing for a number of weeks waiting for me to find a mortgage source and seemed confused by the fact no bank would be involved in the purchase. It actually almost caused the deal to fall apart but once they realized how I intended to pay and awaited for my funds to clear the deal did go thru but I was not impressed by the involvement of their agent in any of the process and if anything she was a detriment which I have never encountered before when dealing with any real estate agency. If you are buying and they are the agent be sure to double check and verify all the claims in the listing and do all your own homework and if you are selling with them as your agent ask to see the listing and make sure it represents your property correctly as potential buyers may be put off with inaccuracies especially serious ones in your listing. read more
