Outstanding food and atmosphere! We had grilled striped bass, with mushroom risotto and a drizzle of truffle oil, all simply amazing! We paired it with a lovely glass of wine and followed up with fresh coffee and dessert! I love the fresh, organic produce and use of local dairies and cheese selection! Chef David is very accommodating to special requests and offers a great selection to gluten free diets. David offers fresh produce from his farm along with a large selection of wines and craft beer!! I never go to Anniston without stopping here. It's super yummy and fresh. My favorite is the shrimp and quinoa. The homemade bread was yummers and I can watch them prepare my meal in the open kitchen. read more

We found this place via Yelp while traveling from Atlanta to Birmingham. We weren't sure what to think when we pulled up to the nondescript location in a strip mall, but the food and service absolutely blew us away. I was especially impressed by how hard the wait staff and kitchen worked with my many food sensitivities. We enjoyed our Friday evening meal so much that we made a point to stop back on our way home Sunday for their vegetable buffet - which was definitely worth the trip! We will be back! read more

What can I say that hasn't already been said? The food is amazing, the ambiance is perfect, the wine list is superb, and the service is terrific. I've been here for dinner numerous times, and I try something different each time, and I am blown away every time. Tonight I had the tomato salad in balsamic vinegret with goat cheese and roasted corn, then had the scallops with roasted cauliflower, and finished it off with the most amazing bread pudding ever! There is but only one problem with Garfrerick's... and it's not location, this restaurant could survive in Manhattan. It's not that Chef Jordan is young enough to get carded in her own restaurant.. It's not the fact that the owner(?) Is on the premises (mistakenly I thought he was the chef's Dad) quite simply it's the fact that Yelp only allows 5 stars!!!! This place is stellar, rarely do I post to yelp. Which means I'm a user more than a contributor but that only means that when I find a gem I post. This is not my first visit and I am not an employee!!! Honestly and not to brag I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, yes world and this place in Bama is top shelf. I had the oysters and the crab cake appetizers and both were good. Had the shrimp and grits as the main entree. It was good, but not great. A little too much heat but not much other flavor. We found this FANTASTIC spot on the way back home from the Atlanta airport. We were their first customer of the day- they opened promptly at 4:30. Super friendly staff greeted us and were genuinely glad we were there. Food was extremely fresh- salads tasted like they were just picked from the garden. Had the trout- huge piece of fish cooked to perfection. Wife had the quinoa and veggies- she loved them. I would gladly go out of my way an hour or so to go eat there again. If you love fresh food and are looking for a secret spot to impress your foodie friends, don't go to Atlanta, make the stop in Anniston- it's only a mile off the interstate. Great place, so surprised to find it in Oxford! It's located in a little strip mall with very little signage. We were immediately seated and served waters with a complimentary shot of green juice. The juice martinis were great! The trout and grouper were fresh and the steaks were cooked perfectly. You can sit at the bar and watch the chefs prepare food, a unique view. I've eaten at Husk in Charleston, The Kitchen on George in Mobile, The Lady and Sons in Savannah, and other awesome restaurants while on vacation. The food and service at Garfrerick's is every bit as good as any of the other places. It was one of the most enjoyable restaurant experiences I've had. They have an excellent beer list and an open kitchen where you can watch them prepare some of the tastiest dishes I've found in this area. It's vacation food close to home. Definitely worth the hour drive to get there and worthy of special occasion dinners... Or just to make a normal day a special occasion. The service was excellent! read more

I've had Garfrerick's several times. They have a wonderful beer selection with brews you can't find anywhere else in the area. I've been to a couple of work Christmas parties hosted there as well. The staff has always been friendly, the facility is always clean, and everything is well organized. Things are a little pricey for the area, but it's great food and service! read more

We had an amazing experience! As soon as you walk in the door you know it is going to be great. The smell is intoxicating and it immediately relaxes you. The food was delicious and so fresh. The next time I go I plan to try the scallops. We had our 2 year old with us, though, so I got a dish that I knew she would like too - Southwestern Chicken - which we both loved (as well as the bread and butter). The kitchen, in an incredibly trendy way, is open - you can see the chefs preparing the meals. It made the experience even that much greater when I saw the chef select each vegetable from the bar - this is true farm-to-table! The owner actually grows the vegetables. My family and I tried Garfrerick's Café for the first time last Friday while in town for a few days, and it was a great experience. The menu, atmosphere, service, and especially the food was outstanding. Eating out is often a limited and challenging experience for my wife and I since we stick pretty much to a plant based diet, but there were several options on the menu, and I could likely have worked with the staff to make adjustments. I make an occasional exception for fish done right - I had the trout with avocado and lime sauce - and it was a good choice. My wife had the tomato salad and it was equally good. Dave (owner) came by and sat with us for a while and crafted a wonderful dessert for us. I love the fact that most of the vegetables and fruits are locally produced. All in all a great experience, and plan to dine there again when in the area. read more
