Owner was amazingly friendly and nice. They'd actually booked up with reservations and he made room for us. The food was delicious and he even brought us out a homemade meatball while we waited to eat. Nice little atmosphere and place.

The atmosphere was very pleasant, absolutely loved the exposed rafters in the ceiling. Seating was not too long but there was a wait when it didn't look too busy. I wished it was better advertised that they didn't have their liquor license and that we could have brought our own wine. The food presentation was well thought out and the portions were way too big. They probably could save on food costs if they didn't give such gigantic servings that can't be finished. There also seemed to be confusion with the ticket orders bc the chef?? Came by with salads and ricotta bread after we had finished our meal and asked if it was ours. It looked like he just gave it to another table on the house as they were about to close. As for the food, it was just ok. My husband thought my chicken Alfredo tasted odd and his lasagna was just like any ordinary lasagna that I could have made at home myself. The Alfredo was good but it really wasn't spectacular but the ricotta bread was tasty. That was the best thing in the entire place and I've been here twice.

Shrimp Alfredo - sauce was smooth and delicious. Not heavy.

What a pleasant place -- and most importantly, what great food! Truly enjoyed the experience.

The food is homemade. Very quaint! The service is great! It's a local restaurant! The portions are enough to share or to take home!

They didn't have an open sign lit up and it appeared dark, but I had looked them up online and they were open (as of 11 a.m.). We parked in a public deck across the street. It had no gate infrastructure, so I assume it's free all the time. There is also street parking within a block or so. The restaurant itself is located about half a block north of the downtown square along a row of shops (records, etc.). The interior layout is booths along the left wall, tables in the middle, and a long bar down the right wall. There appeared to be a large brick pizza oven towards the back also. It was not overly busy when we were there, so there were only 2 servers handling tables and the bar. A few booths had patrons and there was 1 or 2 people at the bar. Service was good. The menu had a decent variety - salads, pastas, pizzas. I don't recall if there were other items. My wife got some sort of pasta dish that wasn't what she expected but she liked it. I also got a pasta dish - angel hair pomodoro. I thought this would be angel hair pasta with the 'pomodoro' in the form of a red sauce. The pasta was there, but the tomatoes were finely diced along with some onions and greens. It was different, but fine. I finished it. So don't be surprised with variants from 'standard' presentations, but the food is good. They appeared to have a full bar and a decent wine / beer selection, but we skipped that this time. We also skipped dessert. If I'm back in Carrolton, I'd consider stopping in again.

Porto Di Venezia did NOT disappoint! We opted to go for a late lunch/early dinner. We were immediately greeted when we walked in. They weren't busy at all, which is what I was hoping for. They had soft music in the background and since it wasn't busy, we could hear each other and carry on a conversation! We were seated quickly and our waiter came over to take our drink order and ask if we had any questions. We opted to order from the lunch menu. It's great option, especially if you eat smaller portions and/or on a budget. The portions are perfect and it includes a soup or salad. I ordered the Lasagna Bolognese with the Sicilian Chicken soup. My husband ordered the Penne Bolognese (with sausage) with the Italian salad. Everything was SO delicious. We ordered the Limoncello cake to go. I have been craving a piece of this cake for so long, it was so satisfying to eat Definitely recommend coming here. Afterwards, you can walk it off in the cute downtown area!
