And it was a very big store with many different rooms. It seems that somehow they reduced the size of the building. In the past, they had a lot more in the way of unique gifts and country type items, antiques as well as cookies and candies. They still have some of those things, but it seems like it really it has been toned down quite a bit. I also remember in the past there was an old firehouse outside nearby, and I think they renovated it. And turned it into an empty building, which resembles the same building as the country store. My friend ended up buying a bar of lavender soap and I bought a couple of bags of netties kettle corn. The staff was friendly and helpful. We found the prices to be a little bit on the steep side.

Instead, each bite takes your taste buds on an incredible journey, allowing you to appreciate the distinct flavors and thoughtfully balanced ingredients. My favorites include the carrot cake, where the warm spices really shine; the crème brûlée; and the macarons--especially the multi-flavored varieties and the coconut macarons with chocolate bottoms, which are absolutely to die for! The homemade marshmallows and creative seasonal treats are also not to be missed. Studio Bake also does custom cakes, all styled with creativity for any occasion. I highly recommend Studio Bake to anyone who appreciates beautifully crafted desserts made with care and imagination. It's well worth the trip to Plainville, and you won't be disappointed!

Met one of the descendants of Peggy Lawton at stop and shop where I was working. He was making a delivery of cookies to Stop and Shop Norwood Massachusetts. He was a delight to talk with. He told me that a family of 9 people ran the company. One of Big Brand years ago made oatmeal cookies semi hard the way Peggy Lawton does. Peggy Lawton Oatmeal cookies beats major brands like Keebler and Nabisco for flavor and texture. Dipping briefly a half a cookie in Milk does a great job for taste and softening the cookie. Yes, it's not as luxurious to shop in, it's usually mobbed, the aisles are tight and the parking lot sucks. Produce is not as great in some items, and they don't carry as many super-speciality foods as Whole Foods or Stop & Shop. However, the people who work there are amazing. They are abundant (try almost every checkout line open during rush) and helpful, and friendly, and the store is well stocked and well managed. No self checkout crap. You don't need it, there's always a line open. We'd kill for an upgraded facility like the nicer newer Market Baskets that do exist, but our Bellingham store crew, from the managers to the baggers are amazing, and make shopping here worth the visit. Their meat department is wonderful, the seafood is great and if you can get near the deli, they work hard and are great too. Finally, a shout out to the bakery and prepared food folks - they are awesome. The food is great and they couldn't be more helpful. We love MB, just wish it was as a new one. Oh, and don't go near the place the day before a major snowstorm, or any Sunday at noon. Plan your visit if possible. 5 stars for the staff and people and management, 3 for the facility. It really needs an upgrade.

They have multiple little green houses / tents, some of which you can rent out for events. Their apple cider was really good; it wasn't too thick, it was perfectly sweet, refreshing, and tasted like fresh apples. The apple cider donuts were the best I have ever had (they were freshly made, so that might've played a part). Some of the characteristics I loved about the donuts is that they were moist, the sugar on it wasn't overwhelming, and a great size. They also have some animals, mostly chickens. Some of them were roaming around outside their coop but most of them were living their best lives in their coop. As a lover of chickens, these seemed well fed and well taken care of which made me happy. You can walk around to get to the different types of apples, but they also did have a hay ride to bring you to a more central location. They have a good variety of apples, and for an additional cost, you can also pick peaches, pears, nectarines, and maybe some other fruits. I filled my 1/4 peck bag with about 8 apples, the bag was about 6 in x 8 in x 4 in. The apples were delicious, very few had pests which were noticeable at the time of picking, but most of them were good. I didn't get a chance to go in but I did peek my head into their store, which they do sell apples, apple products, and other goods. One thing I noticed that has improved is their parking. They had more space, but also someone directing traffic to parking spots. I would recommend this spot for anyone looking for a good fall activity.
