I would of gave it no stars actually. My father was brought there for rehab which they lied and said he wouldn't participate in therapy and needed a family member to help out. When I arrived to do so at the appointment time the therapist suddenly had a family emergency and they canceled it. They also sent paperwork to his insurance saying he wasn't participating. They stole items out of his room and left him there for hours without checking on him. When he was sent to Griffin Hospital he was dehydrated and everything was shutting down and I lost my Dad 3/29/24. I've been getting a bill ever since he passed away for resident amount and he wasn't one. If I had to do all over again I would of never sent him there. read more

My 89 y.o. father had a two week stint at Gardner Heights Apple Rehab last month after a being in the hospital for a few weeks prior. He was brought there on a stretcher, but after two weeks of physical therapy, he was up and running again (ok, maybe not running, but he was walking again). I was impressed with the progress the staff made with my father's rehabilitation. My interactions with the staff were positive and informative. My father actually enjoyed his stay here and liked the staff. Overall, it was a positive experience. read more

I've been an enthusiastic supported of Gardner Heights, up until the pandemic, when visitors were not allowed. I don't consider myself a visitor at this point, although I've visited friends I made among the residents two or three times a week for several years., I started gettig involved with Gardner Heights twenty years ago playing music for churches services with First Baptist Church. I even did a music service for a couple of years when First Baptist was between pastors. I've done a Men's Club, and book club, as well as Jerry's Place where I told stories, sang and played guitar and read short stories from my books. In the twenty years I've volunteered and visited friends, I have come to see Gardner Heights from the inside at all hours of the day and night. My wife Ruth spent the last three and a half months of her life there, and the staff couldn't have been more attentive and caring than they were. As soon as they bring back volunteers, I'll be one of the first to come. I've already given notice. :-) I've performed at several nursing homes in the area. Many are newer and more beautiful, but none could match the loving kindness of the staff and administration at Gardner Heights. read more

My mother has been at this facility for almost a year and I can't say enough good things about the place. In the other place she was at I was afraid they were letting her die and since she's been at Gardner Heights my mom has been more herself. My mom is sick and she won't get better but knowing that people like Anthony and Juanita, two head nurses that I deal with constantly, are treating her with dignity and respect make me feel so much better. On the negative, residents' clothes are all mixed so I take care of my mom's but to me that's a small price to pay. THIS NURSING FACILITY NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN, and that's not a joke. I don't even know if I have the time or energy to even begin to explain how horrific this place is. They are lazy, dirty, the phone system is ridiculous. Every time you call your either on hold for 10 minutes and then hung up on or you just get hung up on. The smell alone makes you want to gag. They honestly could care less about their "residents" whom are mostly left in bed all day with no care or human interaction. And I've seen more then one elderly resident with black eyes from them falling because no one was doing their job. Probably one of the most incredulous experiences was when 2 of the aids decided to get on their tablets in a patients room while the patient was God knows where and browse social media while watching their favorite soap ON THE RESIDENTS TV. Best part they could care less they we walked in on them when my fiancé and I came to visit my father in law mid day since we had the afternoon off. We could not get my father in law out of this place fast enough. We knew in the first few weeks we hated this place and we wanted him out. They don't treat their residents like human beings nor do they respect them. It makes me sick. Not to mention that physical therapy was a joke and I mean a cruel joke. The laziest staff I have ever seen. We had to wait almost 2 years to get him out of their and the new nursing home is the Hilton in comparison to Gardner Heights. The worst part was we had no choice but to choose Gardner Heights (my father in law suffered a massive stroke and is completely paralyzed on the left; is almost completely deaf and his vision was terrible even before the stroke, and when he had to be transferred to a nursing home from Gaylord because his insurance would no longer pay for his stay there the only nursing home within a decent distance from our home was Gardner Heights and I couldn't find any reviews so we had no clue what a nightmare this place would be) I am telling you PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TO CARE FOR YOUR LOVED ONES, there is no care and no human element here. And seriously the staff is ridiculous and the smell alone is enough to make you gag. I wish I was kidding. read more
