I had a very negative experience working with Florence & Cecilia at Flo's Gardens when I inquired…read moreabout maintenance for my rooftop garden. I highly recommend you consider other options as they quickly became unresponsive, then rude. Before meeting with Cecilia, I sent an email with our address and a full schematic of our property. She visited and provided an estimate for $3k annually (5 visits). When I asked some follow up questions, she was initially unresponsive, and then responded very rudely and suggested she had told me previously she would not serve my area now or in the future. This experience was extremely frustrating as I provided our address, spent time away from work to be home to meet Cecilia, and she never mentioned that my location was an issue. If it was an issue, why schedule a visit, review the site, and write up a formal estimate? Overall I'd caution anyone considering Flo's Gardens as they are unprofessional, rude, slow to respond, and frankly very expensive for what they offer compared to competitors in the area.

I don't think I could give a higher recommendation for Lauren and Ryan from Sacred Garden…read more TL;DR - Amazing customer service, Beautiful job completed early and on budget. Hire Sacred Garden to do your yard. I first met them when Lauren responded to my request for quotes on Yelp! (did anyone else even know we could do that?). She was among the first few to respond, and quickly made an appointment to come over to see the backyard firsthand. She worked with me over the next few weeks to adapt our design and work to fit our budget, coming up with more than a few creative ideas and putting up with my endless mind-changing like a champ. When we had trouble getting materials delivered on-time, Lauren worked with us the whole way and even tried to source a truck herself to go pick up the things we had purchased ourselves. Let me tell you - you just don't find this kind of amazing customer service anywhere nowadays. Fast forward to the day we started. Ryan showed up with his crew first and they jumped right in to clearing the yard and getting ready. When Lauren got there a few minutes later we all ran through the plan again together and off they went. They maintained a furious pace - finishing the entire patio and fire-pit area in the first day and positioning them to do the whole synthetic grass area on the 2nd day and finish an entire day early (we had planned 2.5-3 days). The finished product looks incredible. We had a big unveiling party a week after they finished and all of our friends were blown away. Great job Lauren and Ryan. Thank you.

Adrian Santos from East Coast Landscaping and Property Manager did an excellent job on my Spring clean-up. He removed all the leaves as well as fallen branches. He cleaned the flower beds in the front and the overgrown weeds in the Fruit cage in the rear of my home. I had no issue with the quality of his work. Yes, he performed the job alone; nevertheless, I know I received as good of or better results than I would have received from a larger organization. He assured me he and his crew would start and end on the dates given. However, he doesn't have a crew it's a one man show and he will bring one extra guy if you are lucky, sometimes. He is always backed up bc he takes on more jobs than he can handle and never shows up when he says he will. He doesn't call to cancel and is full of excuses. He did a mediocre job, never leveled the yard and has been stringing me along for months to come fix the areas he did not do properly. He is equipped to do zero of the things shown on his fancy flyer and has to go out and rent all of the machines to do the job. Of course I paid him in full so I'm no longer a priority. Do not use. We only live a few miles away from their Wantagh office but nope, they still rigidly adhered to that 2 hour waiting period. A synopsis of our horrible experience follows: The owner, Larry, arrived at our home WITHOUT A MASK to discuss our landscaping job and did not social distance either. Larry took a large deposit, refused to sign his own contract afterward (claimed that "wasn't necessary"), never answered our messages and emails about desired plantings/start date over the next several weeks. When we politely tried to firm things up numerous times, rude nasty secretary Susan always said "I can't help you I can only leave messages for Larry and he's very busy"; of course Larry NEVER deigned to reply. Since Larry was nonresponsive we tried contacting his son Matt (also an owner/manager) but he didn't reply either. After weeks of being given the runaround and with fall planting season coming to an end, we finally asked for our deposit back since they didn't do anything. No refund as of now. Huge Ripoff!
