Creative Landscapes by Patrick Thomas - Our Clients

LOVE our new yard! My husband and I moved to Long Island a few years ago and moved into a lovely…read morelittle home that needed a fresh touch. We found Patrick online and after meeting with him instantly knew that we were so lucky to have stumbled upon him! Patrick is professional, timely, responsive, has a beautiful website and frankly provides excellent customer service. Beyond this, however, he is truly an artist. When meeting with Patrick, he first asked us what we would like, preferences, etc. As my husband and I have little to no knowledge of landscape design, we simply asked him to work his magic knowing that he would create a beautiful outdoor retreat. We are beyond thrilled with our experience! From start to finish, every step of this process has been wonderful and we absolutely recommend him to our Long Island friends!

He put in beautiful dry-beds and rock gardens at areas that used to get flooded. He convinced me to put in a underground dry-well to keep my yard from flooding, and more important to keep my basement from flooding. It works great and no longer have to worry about flooding in my yard and basement ( well worth the cost which was reasonable ), im so happy to have this !! It took Patrick ( and his team ) all summer to finish my yard. This is fine with me as I told him to 'take his time ". It worked well as he got to know my property and really design it beautifully. The yard is absolutely stunning and every single person that has seen it was impressed. I LOVE what it looks like. I pretty much let Patrick make all the decisions and let him do "his thing " as he's the one with the experience. It was fun coming home from work and seeing new rock, bush and tree surprises popping up as he craftily tweaked the property to look it's best. Patrick is a genuinely nice fellow and works very hard. Was not cheap, however it is easily the nicest yard on the block and maybe the neighborhood ( unless someone spent a whole lot more money ). You get what you pay for.

Mike & Marcos Landscaping - 3D design

When my wife and I decided to redesign our landscaping and driveway, we took the time to do…read moreextensive research. We received several proposals including one from Mike and Marco's. My entire time living on Long Island, I have always seen the Mike and Marco's trucks and signs. Their reputation is outstanding, but I always heard they were so expensive (BIG MISCONCEPTION). I invited Mike to our home to make a proposal, as I understood you pay for the best. I wanted someone who could do everything including the landscape design, Pavers, Blacktop, sprinklers etc. WOW, was I wrong on one point, Mike 's proposal came in EXTREMLY reasonable compared to the other vendors and the value for someone with his expertise and reputation could not be beat. After extensive design meetings and brainstorming with Mike, we selected a design that would transform our home into a showpiece that we love pulling up to everyday! We have had an unbelievable and successful experience with Mike and Marco's and the entire team. Mike and his team were always on time, meticulous and extremely talented. Their attention to detail and patience with me and my specific questions and demands were spectacular. Everyone on the team had a very apparent dedication to hard work and perfection. They were especially diligent in making sure every aspect of the project was completed on-time and with an extreme commitment to excellence. Mike and Camille (who I called and texted often) were problem solvers who were ALWAYS available day or night with a solution. Often Mike had an answer before I knew there was even a question to ask. Both Mike and Camille responded to my numerous emails, texts and calls immediately every time I had a new idea, annoying "suggestion" or "to-do list" that I thought of in the middle of the night! The quality of the work, craftsmanship and attention to detail was amazing at every stage of the project! In addition, it is so apparent that Mike ALWAYS stands behind the quality of their work. This project FAR EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS!! We love all of it! Again thank you to you and the entire Mike and Marco's Landscaping team for another job that has really been an amazing experience!

RECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Landscaping sketches should accurately reflect the size of the plants/trees…read morethat will be planted, 2) If there are issues with the work after completion and the payment has already been made, Mr. Daniele should address the issues in a timely fashion, not three seasons later, 3) Making the customer happy should always be a priority. I did my research on about three to four different landscape designers and while Mr. Daniele was one of the more expensive ones, I decided to go with him because his reviews were good and he provided a sketch of the end product and we were very pleased with the plan. The beginning of the process was smooth. Mr. Daniele was responsive and seemed knowledgeable and experienced with landscaping. The concerns started to come about the day he arrived with the plants. Some of the plants were not in the best condition, but he assured us they would bloom again before the end of the season, in which they did. But, also it was evident he was attempting to make the most profit by purchasing smaller plants (or much younger) than what was shown in the sketch. After completing his work, I noticed one of the trees was not planted straight, another tree planted is not the one that was listed in the contract, and 10 of the plants are either dying or dead. The job cost $3,400 so I expected to be completely satisfied. I reached out to Mr. Daniel and he mentioned the plants were dying due to lack of water. This is false as one of the dying plants is a few inches away from a sprinkler and all sprinkler heads were adjusted to provide adequate water for the plants. He then said he would replace the plants, but I would have to wait until spring of 2020 (as per a policy that was not noted in the contract). I do not believe it is fair to pay a few thousands of dollars for a landscaping project and have to wait almost a year for it to be properly completed. Also, Mr. Daniele would not mention anything about the slanted tree or the tree that was quoted in the contract but not delivered. I am guessing we would have to wait until the spring for those as well. Overall, I am dissatisfied with the outcome of the project and regret not going with another company.
