I tried to concoct a poultice of my own to remove the stain, but I called Tri-State after reading other positive reviews because I wasn't confident in what I did. Dan answered the phone immediately (yes, a human actually picked up!). He spoke to me at length about my issue and examined photos while on the phone with me. He reassured me that I was on the right track with the potion I used. Dan patiently walked me through recommended next steps. He even said he'd be happy to consult with me if needed, and if I still failed to see improvement after waiting a week for the stone to dry out, then he'd come out. But, he urged me to stick with what I started because based on what he saw, the treatment is working!! I walked away from that call feeling empowered and totally reassured that if I can't fix the issue, it's fixable. Dan stayed on the phone to answer other questions, including finding me a referral to another contractor who could do other work in my kitchen. What luck it was that I stumbled across those reviews and called when I did. I had to write this lengthy review because it's so rare to find a contractor who is honest, patient, and empathetic (not to mention someone who would be willing to take time out of his day to help a stranger). RUS eventually found the correct hinges and installed them and realigned the cabinets. Cost was reasonable. The technician knew what he was doing and happily answered all questions I asked of him. Side note he had to be droped off and my ring saw him getting picked up. So not sure if he had to rush and was pressed for time...not sure why he did not have his own vehicle. Anyway when I got home I was shocked to see the terrible job that was done on my teak furniture. I could have done the same thing and it would have cost me only the material of $80.00. There were sanding marks in my teak. I guess he did not have the right sandpaper to handle this job, It looked like it needed another coat of the stain well is a tinted clear. Plus he had did a test and it looked like he did not sand that off before redoing the enite table. Underneath the arms of my chairs were not done. So now I paid him more money and he was ony here for 6 hours. I paid more money and got a crappy job. I reached out and his reply was "So sorry for the delay. Im not too happy with the result. I will return to complete properly we can schedule next week." That was in May and I texted almost every week with no response until I gave up in August. Lisa, I am not going to go back and forth with you here or on any other forum. I see you are very upset but so was I for all these months my cabinets were not done properly the first time. It was a major inconvenience to me to have your staff come numerous times and I still have cabinets that are chipped and not level. I decided that arguing with you any further was just not worth it. You made the whole process difficult. I made so many phone calls that were never returned along with many emails. If the cabinets were too old for this process you should have said that. ​ I would have made a different decision. The fact is I am just not happy with the results. You can make any accusations you want against me because I know I did everything I could to rectify this situation and I am still not happy with my kitchen.
