On our first meeting we met with Xiao, the center director, and he paired us with Emily to begin with an initial verbal and written assessment to pinpoint his struggle areas. My son was very quiet and kind of closed off, but Emily was so patient and kind while she worked with him. I didn't hesitate to enroll because, it's a very constructive and warm and inviting learning environment. I know that it is early in this journey, but they spent quite a bit of time on the first day working with him. We scheduled his first two sessions immediately so that we didn't have to wait until after the new year to get started. Even though it's the holiday season he will have an opportunity to get lessons before we break for the holidays. As I waited, I could hear my son opening up as Emily worked with him. I have a feeling this will be a great experience for him, and I can't wait to post a follow up in 6 months.

So much that my child spent 4 great years at Owlets and we all cried a bit when we moved out of state and had to leave. I can't say enough about the warm, family-like environment. Teachers and classmates became a second family for my child, and families were really encouraged to get to know each other through events and gatherings. It felt like Owlets was a support system even outside of school hours. We loved the balance between structure and free play and really felt like Little Owlets prepared my daughter very well socially and knowledge-wise for kindergarten - the transition to elementary school was a breeze. My child LOVED the Montessori-inspired activity time and still talks about it. And there were so many creative and fun activities - cooking, yoga....We loved that outdoor time was emphasized in all but the worst weather and the kids got in quality outside play and exercise time. This year she began to manifest some struggles with emotional and sensory regulation, and her teachers (Ms. Susan and Ms. Allie) and the staff (Ms, Heather and Ms. Brenda) have been very patient, supportive, and creative as we work on these challenges with them and other caregivers. We had a couple years of positive experiences but something has changed dramatically recently. I…read morecould detail my many minor frustrations with the lack of communication and what seems to be intentional deceit with moving students between classes without notifying parents, but I feel the two major incidents that caused us to leave will speak for themselves: In the last week and a half my daughter was first directly given a known allergen by a staff member, causing an ER visit and extremely stressful day for my whole family. To be clear, this was not an accidental exposure - she was handed a cup of milk despite having a well-documented allergy to milk. Yesterday, my daughter was sent home with dried feces caked on the back of her shirt from a BM that occurred at 10 AM. She was walking around all day with a significant amount of feces on her. Based on the fingerprints and smudges she was touching it frequently, so it is fair to assume that everything she touched and even the other children she interacted with were exposed to the potential bacteria and illnesses known to be in feces. When I called to address both issues their response essentially amounted to 'mistakes happen.' Obviously this was extremely upsetting given these two incidents so close together, which clearly indicates a larger issue. After a tense but professional phone call with the owner I was told my daughter was no longer allowed to attend, effective immediately. Luckily we were already making plans since we didn't feel she was safe there anyway, but I was still appalled that rather than bear responsibility they chose to dismiss it. I am truly fearful for every student in that center. I don't know what it is happening but there is a clear lack of appropriate management and it is putting kids' well being at risk.

But the cafeteria staff on the other hand is horrible. In 2013 we found out my son is allergic to milk not lactose intolerant but allergic to milk. I filled out the paper work all is well. But my son has stomach aches, throwing up and was admitted in the hospital. I go to the school put money in his account and tell the lunch attendant he can not have milk is that in his account she says yes. 2014 I go to have lunch with my son,why does my son have pizza? I go to the lunch attendant at the register and tell her about him being allergic to milk again. My son barley eats cafeteria lunch he packs but once in awhile he wants to buy lunch and he should be able to. Today I decide to go have lunch with my son and guess what he brings to the lunch table pizza! I was beside myself I go to the lunch attendant she apologizes and says she saw the allergy pop up but he picked pizza wth he is 7yrs old. I go to the office talk to someone in the office she emails the person in charge of updating kids allergies, walks to the cafeteria with me we look up my sons lunch account and it says allergic to milk, yogurt. The lady in the office was truly worried and did what she could do asap she even left my contact info so I could be contacted. I received a call from the lady who updates our children's Allergies and She doesn't seem to realize how important this is my son was in the hospital. His organs were enlarged , they could of shut down. All she can say to me is get a doctors note, why wasn't I informed about this in 2013 it's 2015 lady. I ask for the information of the person above her she goes right pass that by apologizing. I don't want apologies I'm past that point I want results. I have so many Dr bills from blood test just to be told it's because he is digesting milk somehow. Yeah he was digesting milk at school. I trust these people with my child and what does the cafeteria attendant do who see"s the screen that says allergic to milk, yogurt she lets him get pizza. Not once,not twice three times. I'm not stating anyone's name because they have a right to privacy but I'm defiantly upset I've been more that nice this is serious this is my child's life. I'm giving one star because of the cafeteria and their incompetence behavior. This is not a reflection of the school and office staff they are wonderful.

Ms. Amina and her team pour so much love and dedication into each child who enters their daycare. Our little one loves going to daycare every day. She's learned so much and flourishes there.
