Let me first start this review by saying I love the staff in the office. They all have great…read morepersonalities and they do go that extra mile when need be. But the cafeteria staff on the other hand is horrible. In 2013 we found out my son is allergic to milk not lactose intolerant but allergic to milk. I filled out the paper work all is well. But my son has stomach aches, throwing up and was admitted in the hospital. I go to the school put money in his account and tell the lunch attendant he can not have milk is that in his account she says yes. 2014 I go to have lunch with my son,why does my son have pizza? I go to the lunch attendant at the register and tell her about him being allergic to milk again. My son barley eats cafeteria lunch he packs but once in awhile he wants to buy lunch and he should be able to. Today I decide to go have lunch with my son and guess what he brings to the lunch table pizza! I was beside myself I go to the lunch attendant she apologizes and says she saw the allergy pop up but he picked pizza wth he is 7yrs old. I go to the office talk to someone in the office she emails the person in charge of updating kids allergies, walks to the cafeteria with me we look up my sons lunch account and it says allergic to milk, yogurt. The lady in the office was truly worried and did what she could do asap she even left my contact info so I could be contacted. I received a call from the lady who updates our children's Allergies and She doesn't seem to realize how important this is my son was in the hospital. His organs were enlarged , they could of shut down. All she can say to me is get a doctors note, why wasn't I informed about this in 2013 it's 2015 lady. I ask for the information of the person above her she goes right pass that by apologizing. I don't want apologies I'm past that point I want results. I have so many Dr bills from blood test just to be told it's because he is digesting milk somehow. Yeah he was digesting milk at school. I trust these people with my child and what does the cafeteria attendant do who see"s the screen that says allergic to milk, yogurt she lets him get pizza. Not once, not twice three times. I'm not stating anyone's name because they have a right to privacy but I'm defiantly upset I've been more that nice this is serious this is my child's life. I'm giving one star because of the cafeteria and their incompetence behavior. This is not a reflection of the school and office staff they are wonderful.

WONDERFUL staff and teachers. Always going the extra mile to do fun after/before school activities.read more

When we were looking for a daycare which was focused on early learning, we received many…read morerecommendations for The Garden of Learning. We have been pleased to see how our son has blossomed since starting there! He immediately started to impress us at home with what he has learned at the Garden of Learning, while having fun and building his social skills with the other children at the school. As a bonus, our child gets to engage with nature in an amazing outdoor area. Our six-year old also spent the summer there and loved her time there as well. She really enjoyed the crafts and field trips they took. Scotia and her team provide a learning environment which is kind, safe, and fosters curiosity and a sense of connection to nature and each other. We have been very pleased with our decision to join the Garden of Learning and would recommend this school to anyone who is wanting their pre-school aged child to be prepared to enter Kindergarten.

My children began their journey at FMS as Kindergarteners…read more They are currently in middle and high school, respectively. Located on a beautiful vast campus, FMS offers a unique and nurturing environment that encourages students to grow and thrive. With a focus on Quaker values, the school emphasizes the importance of respect, empathy, and social responsibility, providing students with a strong moral foundation that will serve them well throughout their lives. Another key aspect of the school is its commitment to diversity and inclusivity. The school celebrates the diversity of its students, faculty, and staff, and provides a safe and welcoming environment for all. As a mother of bi-racial children, it is of the utmost importance that our children feel safe, and well-respected. Especially at a place where they spend the majority of their time. Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion are reflected in the school's curriculum, which is designed to promote cross-cultural understanding, empathy, and respect for differences. In addition to its academic programs, FMS also offers a range of community service opportunities that encourage students to give back to their community and develop a sense of social responsibility. From volunteering at local charities to participating in environmental conservation projects, students are given the chance to make a positive impact on the world around them. If you're looking for a school that will help your child grow into a confident, compassionate, and socially responsible individual, then Friends Meeting School is most definitely worth considering.

Where to begin.... 1st there is favoritism. The kids from wealthy families get special treatment…read moreand their bad behavior gets overlooked. Kids call teachers by first name which is weird and doesn't show respect. My daughter had a teacher who made sexual comments to her and when it was addressed with The head of school no disciplinary action was taken. In fact the teacher was presented with an award in front of my child at graduation. Terrible!!! The same teacher also gave another student the finger and that was also reported. No disciplinary action was taken. What are we teaching children when this behavior is allowed especially in a Quaker school. I would never recommend this school. Safety should be the number 1 priority and clearly the school is more concerned about their reputation than the students. On a positive note there are some teachers there that are very good.
