Others had advised it would take hundreds of thousands of dollars, require massive equipment, and could be replaced only by something brute or artificial looking. Not only was Don Thurber able to use all of the stone that had been piled up for decades and hidden in the remains of the landslide, he recut it and blended it in with new stone so that the resultant terraces looked like extensions of the original wall, Furthermore, everything was excavated by hand. No dump trucks or bulldozers. Then, his crew of amazingly talented master stonemasons spent 5 weeks executing a beautiful set of terraces of his own design. The result is nothing short of magnificent. Focusing on the aesthetic, he also created and installed a drainage system into each terrace to address the hydrostatic problem that had led to the collapse of the hill originally. Plus, he added lighting that I never would have thought to include. In other words, Silver Spring Landscaping exceeded all of my expectations. He and his team were professional, always arrived on time, and the results have transformed the exterior of our home. Whenever I had concerns or questions, he was extremely responsive. I couldn't have imagined how beautiful it would be. I contacted Don because we were having some problems with the drainage that runs through our property. This was eroding our driveway and creating a hole similar to a sinkhole. He listened to my concerns and created a plan to address the erosion and beautify our property. He created a yard that will have flowering plants for 3 of the four seasons, keeping in mind that we have deer and other animals that love to eat plants, while maintaining the rustic environment. He also added a walkway so that we could easily get around the property. He was even able to use some stone plates we hadn't used. When he was finished with the project, they made sure everything was cleaned up. I would highly recommend Silver Spring Landscaping. I know I will enjoy Don's work for years to come.

When issues arose, I even paid an additional $1,000 for them to return and fix the wooden wall. Despite this, the wall was not properly fixed, and the entire structure is now broken after only three years. The owner refuses responsibility and offers no remedy. This company is unaccountable and cannot be trusted.

They charged a lot $$ (thousands) and we trusted them to install a 16x4x4 garden bed. They planted several vegetables - beans, tomatoes, cucumber, chard, carrots, okra, beets, leeks, eggplant, some blueberry & raspberry, fig and persimmon trees. We informed them beforehand that there's a huge deer issue in our area and they ASSURED us that everything they're planting are deer-proof. Aside from the eggplant and cucumber, none of the other plants produced anything worthwhile. Moreover, the two trees were consumed by deer, and a blueberry bush died within a month. When we brought up these issues, they pointed to "fine print" on no guarantees, and pretty much shut us down saying they will not discuss the issue any more. No offer to replace any trees/bushes, etc. Pathetic service. They talk a good marketing game, but once they have the money they don't care.

We bought this house about 2.5 years ago and saw a small drainage area next to the driveway. Not only was it an eye sore, but the area was quickly eroding towards the driveway.
