The perimeter of my yard had years of ivy (poison, English and Vinca Vine) growth that was preventing my wife and I from enjoying our space and creating a hazard for my dogs. I found Marvin, one of the "Brothers", to be a pleasure to work with - professional, knowledgeable, communicative, and respectful. He came to my home, listened patiently to what I wanted done, made suggestions without any pressure, explained his pricing and scheduling, and then started work within a week of my acceptance of his work proposal. I couldn't be more happy with this drainage project! We have a driveway that has a slight slope downward toward my flower bed and we've always experienced issues when it rained or when I watered my plants. There would always be a puddle of water and it would simply not drain anymore after a while. I was frustrated and hired Two Bothers to see what my options were. They came up with a cost effective, and solid solution. They installed a drainage box with a 4 inch pipe under the flower bed. A crew of five folks showed up in the morning and within hours my problem was solved! Ironically, right after they left we had quite a bit of rain come in ,and the drainage system worked very well! They even suggested how to maintain the drainage box, which promises to be pretty low maintenance. When I inquired about warranty, they promised that everything will work just fine, but they would come back in case there are any issues in the future. They also told me that they would reach out to a different company, on my behalf, to help me find a recurring lawncare service. They said that they would follow back up with me later. Jorge, Marvin, and their team did a phenomenal job! Last year, after trying to clear out the poison ivy coming in from my neighbors' yard, I ended up in urgent care (where I learned I'd also been exposed to poison sumac and poison oak). This year, my neighbors still hadn't cleared out their yard, and as a result I couldn't weed alongside my fence because the poison ivy had wrapped around some of the trees and plants. I also couldn't tell what was poison oak or sumac, so I just let the yard go. 2 Brothers Landscaping cleared out the weeds and poison trio, and they even cleared out some of my neighbors' yard to make it easier for me to maintain my yard. Also, I'd been having trouble making my front yard--which is partly on a hill--look nice. They figured out cost-effective solutions to improve the look of it, installing a new drainage pipe that they tucked underneath the ground. They also built wood borders on the hill to keep in the mulch. I couldn't be more grateful. What they do is hard work--especially in this heat. I'm impressed by how quickly they finished the job. Great guys. Got back to us right away; came out and looked at our backyard. Worked with us on our budget, and took time to help plan the best possible use of our space. We live in the city and some other landscapers were reluctant to work in our neighborhood. Very happy with the product. Our backyard is level and they built a wood frame to hold in the mulch. The mulching and clean up was done to satisfaction, however a large portion of the grass in various areas of the lawn was destroyed from driving the truck over it or crew removing grass for an unknown reason. They said it would be fixed, but instead of using proper dark soil & seed, or sod, a clay-like cheap dirt with rocks in it was put down. When grass would not grow back with frequent watering, another landscaper took a look and made us aware that grass won't grow in that type of dirt. For almost 4K price, that is unacceptable. 2 Bros would not fix. read more

Our neighbor had work done by this company, so I looked them up and saw all of the great reviews. I called and left a message to schedule an estimate. Jorge was very friendly and professional when he returned my call. One star for the initial professionalism. The day of the estimate it was chilly out. It was 6pm and the sun was already setting when Jorge arrived. He walked around the area we wanted worked on, and asked about other areas, which we told him we did not need. He wrote some stuff down in his notebook and took some measurements, then he spent several minutes presumably doing math in his notebook, and asked about the other areas again. Nooooo, just what we initially requested. He continued writing in his notebook.... then his phone rang. He spent about 15 minutes on the phone while we just stood there waiting. It was dark at this point, and we were both cold and annoyed. When he finally hung up we'd been standing outside for over 30 minutes total. He quoted us $3,500 for one option and $5,200 for the other. I was floored, and I let it show. I won't name the other company, but they quoted us $750 and $2000, including extra features that Jorge's estimate did not include. That's how utterly ridiculous this was. Ten years ago 2 brothers landscaping put in drainage, laid flagstone paths, and created flower beds at my property. I am very pleased with how well everything has held up. I contacted them for the free estimate (as advertised on Yelp) and he said the only way he would even look at the property would be for me to either be home or pay $40 today. To look at my yard would take maybe 5 minutes. I explained that I was working and couldn't leave and he told me that is the way he does business. He suggested I get other estimates. I hired 2 Brothers to regrade my front and back lawns. They quoted me a top of the line price and claimed years of experience. Long story short: they proceeded to remove the top 4-6 inches of soil of entire lawn, removed a flower/shrub bed they were supposed to EXPAND, compacted everything with bobcat, seeded it with grass, and covered it with curlex. When asked about topsoil replacement Marvin told me "that costs money". When I pointed out that the grade of the lawn was not changed or amended in the way we discussed, Jorge put a 3 foot carpenter's level on the ground and said "See..it slopes" I realized then that they didn't have a clue how to do the job. I should have made them at least remove the curlex, replace my topsoil, and the missing bed but I wanted them off the property and I had no confidence they could repair their damage. A warning sign I ignored was their constant demand for money--up front and daily. They have probably been kicked off many jobs in the past. This was a horrible experience that is an open wound every time I look at what is left of my lawn. Be warned--these guys are very expensive and either incompetent or cheats (I think both). read more
