We didn't want something generic from pottery barn/ikea/etc. but were also discouraged to find that any vintage-style dresser of any decent quality was outrageously expensive. Lo and behold, my wife stumbled upon a posting for Vintage Lane on our neighborhood blog and we decided to check it out. We were so thankful we did! Not only does Carrie and her partner, who own the store, have great pieces, they are remarkably affordable. We found the perfect-sized dresser for our toddler's room and Carrie painted it for us for an extremely reasonable price (she also had to spend a lot of time getting the stain just right on top, so it was no small job). The piece came out looking fantastic. If you like vintage-style furniture (e.g. annie sloan /distressed/Brooklyn flea mkt/etc.), this place is for you. You'll find beautiful dressers/sideboards/cupboards/mirrors/etc. that are far more affordable than comparable items you'll find in any other stores/fleas. Also, the folks who run the store are exceedingly friendly and willing to work with you to make sure you find exactly what you are looking for. We will definitely be coming back.

I've joyfully purchased furs, boots, scarves... shall I go on? Lol Today, however, my experience was, at best, humiliating. Today, I came with a small bag of donations, a few gently worn items and some new "Chico's" dresses still with purchase tags. I had no idea there was a protocol to follow: 1. Make an appointment 2. Everything must be pressed and on hangers... I was only 'stopping-by" to to good deed... nothing more. The woman who greeted me, very curtly told me that I was supposed to have made an appointment. After the dressing down for no appointment, she said she'd see me. Then, giving my small bag the once over without opening it, told me she couldn't take anything, to take it back because everything had to be on hangers. She then opened the bag and showed me how very wrinkled my things were and launched into a dissertation about how there wasn't enough 'woman power' to press all the clothes. She said I could take my things elsewhere. I am so glad there were no other customers in the shop within earshot... I was mortified. I told the woman that I had no idea there were rules to follow, I was only doing a good deed. (Please note: I do understand that, as with anything, there need to be guidelines. Surely I would have complied had I known.) The woman then told me to leave the bag and she'd go through it, keep what she felt acceptable and 'donate' the rest. She thanked me and then, in a somewhat condescending tone, invited me to browse. I thanked her and said, "I don't think so.". I left feeling embarrassed and quite hurt. Shame on that woman... she should not be allowed to represent Consign Design! Her unkindness caused unnecessary hurt and humiliation ... and isn't that what Consign Design champions against? He used the CAD system to make sure everything fit properly, and to help visualize creative ideas. In April of this year (2023), I purchased a table from White House in Wayne New Jersey. It was…read moredelivered in June and there were no issues with the delivery and everything was fine. Shortly after getting the table, I placed a couple of plastic bottles on it. Later, I noticed scratches where I had placed the bottles (see attached photo). I thought the scratches might just be marks on the surface and tried to rub them out. I used a plastic scrubber and only made matters worse. I contacted the sales rep at White House Furniture and their response was basically, "oh, well." They would do nothing to help me repair the damage aside from giving me the name of a refinisher. This is a DINING ROOM TABLE but now I am now afraid to put anything on it because it scratches so easily. This table, plus delivery cost me almost $2,000 and I am stuck with a table that needs to be covered to be used. I might as well have gone to a Bob's furniture store and purchased a cheap one if it is going to be covered all the time. I like working with the smaller vendors but will not support vendors who do not stand behind their products. Avoid these people.

I had originally designed two closets using the online tool. I asked to speak with a designer, and she called that night. She was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. She liked the design of my simpler closet but had a lot of very good suggestions for my wife's walk-in. I took all of her suggestions (and I'm glad I did). The closets are for a townhome that I just bought but had not even moved in yet. I needed them to delay the shipment of the product until a certain day. She took care of that, and it arrived just when I wanted. I received 30 --- yes, 30 --- boxes ranging from small to very large. Every box is labeled with what parts are in it and, importantly for me, which closet the parts are for. Every box was amazingly well-secured, and the strengthened cardboard packing/protection did its job. Long story short (ha!!): I prepped both closets --- took down the old hardware, spackled the walls, sanded the walls, and painted the walls. Then I took about 8hrs to build the simple closet and about 12hrs to build the walk-in closet. I was *never* frustrated or led astray by the amazingly clear, well-illustrated, and well-organized instruction manuals (that are personalized for each individual closet). The resulting closets were beyond my hopes for what they might come out to be. I feel a sense of accomplishment and I felt like EasyClosets was an amazingly supportive and competent partner in the whole process. To be clear, if you get frustrated by the complexity of putting together IKEA furniture, or if you have a hard time sticking with a project for more than a couple of hours, then you should go a different route. However, if you think you are up to it, then you will not be let down by the pros at EasyCloset. Great price, great service, great product. Thanks. I'm glad I found you.

And while it's not as easy as building IKEA furniture, the system goes quickly once you get the rails installed. We recently worked with Saray Ortiz to retrofit one of our closets. We explained the modifications we wanted, they provided some feedback on what would work, we provided the measurements, and they crafted an order with every part needed to complete the retrofit. The retrofit went flawlessly and you would never have guessed the two parts were installed 10 years apart! I will continue to do business with them!
