Honestly, this was the best ham and cheese sandwich of my life. I don't know what their secret sauce is, but it's well worth your dollars. The preparation, the aging, the combination of great quality meat with an in-house cheese that is also something to write home about all on its own make for the perfect sandwich. The house made chips are also vinegary, salty, and a perfect complement to their sandwiches. Portions are large enough to split and there's a park with a square across the street where you can eat. 10/10.

Fortunately, the sandwich was just as satisfying as it looked. For their sandwiches, they drape the slices of jamon iberico over the edges of the bread to make it look like a ton of meat, but they really do contain a lot of meat. The sandwiches I have had here contained way more meat than the sandwiches I have had at some other meat shops in Spain. And those velvety thin slices of ham were so rich, savory, and nearly melt in your mouth. Not to mention the bread was good, too. The crusty outside is a nice contrast to the soft ham, and the soft fluffy inside perfectly absorbs the delicious oil from the ham. Just a delicious and cheap bocadillo de jamon iberico that I wouldn't mind getting again. And if you have more money to spend, their freshly sliced ham looks like top quality meat.

We, unfortunately have been away for the past 2 1/2 yrs due to the pandemic and are very exited to be back. In the past I would haul 6 lbs of my own locally roasted coffee beans with me, so I could have as good coffee here, as I do at home. The coffee here locally has always been pretty bad, or at least nothing to speak of. When I was walking through town one day during our first week back I saw a new café/restaurant (Lisboa), so I of course decided to investigate. When I walked in, I saw a separate counter that had different bags of coffee beans from all over the coffee producing world. I have an espresso machine so I was very excited to find whole beans. Upon introducing myself to the owner, José, and having a lengthy conversation, I discovered that they roast their own beans, and they are all sourced in small batches from small farms that use ecological and sustainable practices. I have tried 2 different kinds at this point, Honduras and Brazil, and they are both delicious. José, and the staff in general, attend to everything they do with great detail to quality. Besides my joy at finding a café that serves and sells truly great and fresh coffee, I also discovered that they make fabulous desserts as well and delicious breakfast and lunch dishes. Lisboa is now my absolute favorite place to hang out to have coffee, dessert and wonderful breakfasts and lunch sandwiches. Bravo José!

It did not disappoint. The place is super busy (for a good reason) but the staff still managed to help us pick what we wanted. This is what a tapas place is supposed to be.. The bar is beautiful and those barrels of house made vermut made it look and feel so authentic.

The downsides - they don't really speak English, the menu is Spanish only, and it's crowded and standing room only type of bar - so it's hard to get the attention of the bartenders if you don't speak Spanish or don't know how to navigate a Spanish tapas bar. The food was ok in terms of quality, nothing super delicious but not bad either. Just average. But the value was phenomenal. The free tapas options that come w your drink(s) are a saucy rice & meat dish w bread or a mushroom dish with bread. The mushrooms looked canned (ew) so we went with the rice/meat/veggies dish which was pretty good.

Here's the deal with Kebab King: It's your Granada safety net. Stay out too late at the bar?…read more Kebab King is open. Every other place is packed? Kebab King is there. Drunk? Kebab King. It's the equivalent of your go-to college burrito place. When we went, the guy behind the counter was nice. Good English skills, which was a plus. I got a kebab with chicken and beef. I was dismayed to see the dude using his bare hands to flip it on the griddle. (Y'all got a spatula or something? That's going in my mouth.) The chicken and the beef were not great. They tasted dry. The picante sauce he threw on there resurrected the flavor a bit. I was also bummed when my fiancee ordered something with falafel and he threw the ball in the microwave. That's what you're getting, folks. Microwaved and bare-hand manipulated food. That said, it was not the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth. Because so many places in Granada shut down around midnight, you should keep Kebab King in your back pocket for an emergency, but this should not be your first option.
