Really good service. Fair price…read more I brought in some trailer wheels and some tires I got privately on craigslist. They said yes and that they could have them done in 20 minutes. I was in a hurry so I came back for them later. Also, I got some used tires here and they had some good ones. They let me in to the back to go see them and examine them. I said looks good to me! They got to work on my truck right away. After they inflated them, they dunked them in water to look for leaks. None. Nice! As the guy was working on installing them, he pointed out a better solution for lug nuts than what I had and made a recommendation. He didn't have to, but he did. He saved me from a big problem in the future! They also used a torque wrench to tighten. In total, it was maybe 30 minutes! All-included price for everything was fair. Credit cards accepted. Awesome service! I am very very happy and they are now my #1 go-to tire shop.

Lets get price out of the way, it is not bad on wheels, but not good; average on wheels in other…read morewords. Alignment is pricy especially if you do not buy tires, however here is where things get tricky with this place. If you do not buy tires, aligment is supposed to be 120 (this price should not include tax, but more on that in a bit), 90 if you buy minimum of 1 wheel in 2025. Again, this price should not be including tax as they did not indicate it does or does not, and most companies do not include tax on their advertised price unless they say otherwise, and services most of the time do not have tax as part of the listed price. Now to why this a 1 star location AND a place to avoid: We purchased 2 tires in October 2025 for 120 each (again without tax on price, this is important as it is part of the 1 star issue), and had the alignment service charged as well at the price of 90. In total with tax, we were charged 353.57; this means each wheel was charged 120, and with tax should have been about 130.50 per wheel (about 261 on wheels alone with tax). This leaves a balance of 92.57... which is 2.57 more than the 90 dollars they quoted... ok no issues so far if the service is taxed as well. I leave the car to get the tires installed and get alignment done, to which they tell me it will be done in a few hours. I come back later in the day expecting everything to be done and I get told that wheels were installed but alignment was not performed and did not bother telling me until I showed up... and they left me going WTF? They said they needed a specail part that was not available and needed to be ordered before alignment could be performed; and instead of asking me what I would like to do, they simply said they would refund me 90 dollars for the service that was not performed. I immediately told them that we needed the service and asked how long it would take for the part to arrive. They told me 2-3 days, and I asked them to not refund me that day as we need the service performed (we still do as of this writing). 2-3 days go by and nothing, no follow up calls, no updates, so I had to call and I was then told the part was delayed and they were told it would be pushed into next week but they could not provide an exact date as they were not provided a tracking number. Again, no communication on this and I had to reach out to get an update, but I wanted to get the service we paid for and told them ok we will continue waiting until the part arrives. We continue waiting until the following week and again NO UPDATE. So I called and they did not answer the phone. I called them 3 times per day throught 2 days and no replies or follow up. I then go into the shop in person to ask for an update and they tell me the part was cancelled a few days before I went in and they would refund me the money. I did not bring the card I used as I was not expecting that at all, so I left and came back the next day in the morning to get a refund. They wanted to give me 80 dollars back. I immediately told them that is wrong, and the person attending me called someone to confirm the refund amount, who specifically told them to give me 80 dollars (I heard this as well). The person attending then said sorry they said 80; I told him to hold on let me get the receipt, and unforuntately I had forgotten it at home, so I had to leave and come back in the evening after the work day. Their carbon copy receipt said 2 hand written things: Wheels x 2 Aligment No price line, no tax line. Stapled on top was the prined receipt for the credit card transaction of 353.57 I go into the shop in the evening asking to get my money back and again the person attending me said they could give 80 dollars back. I then got upset and got a little aggressive, but I told him 2 people had said 90 dollars, and if it was 80 then the price per wheel were higher than what we were told, so I asked which was it. He realized this and then said to me that price for aligment was all over the place and has seen people get quotes for 90, 80, 70, and even 50 in special situations. He finally refunded me 90 dollars and we left it at that. As mentioned before, at the start, based on total pricing, they did keep a little more, but at this stage we simply wanted out. We had decent service with them up until this point, but after this experience, we will no do business with them again.

My story is long and rather unfortunate, but the team at Olivera's helped make a bad situation a little more tolerable. Let me explain. I was on a joy ride from San Diego, where I live, all the way up to San Francisco to visit a buddy of mine who I never got to see. I own a 2014 Mini Cooper S Convertible, and it was a beautiful day for a long drive up the coast with the top down. But while passing through the cute little city of Buellton, my car suffered a catastrophic engine failure. I initially thought the alternator died, but that wasn't the case. After inspection at Olivera's, it turned out to be much worse. They (correctly) determined the coolant was somehow pouring directly into the engine and mixing with the oil. The dipstick looked like it had been dipped into a milkshake. Not good. But the car is secondary to the *actual* service I received from the staff at Olivera's. Cars can be fixed. This review is about hospitality. That said, I would fully trust these guys with my car. They've been doing this for many years and clearly know what they're talking about. All car owners worry about being lied to by their mechanic. At Olivera's, I do not see that ever being the case. These are genuinely nice people, and trust goes a long way here. I arrived just shy of closing time on a Friday evening, around 4:40 p.m. Seeing me come off of a tow truck, they immediately broke the tension with, "So, how's YOUR day going?" It put a little smile on my face. I explained the situation and that I would likely be stuck in Buellton for the weekend while the car was repaired. They immediately offered suggestions on where to stay and where to eat. No pressure, no rushing since it was closing time, no macho car talk. They simply heard my story and felt my pain. Bob, one of their mechanics, even offered me a ride to the Motel 6 down the road. That was Green Flag #1. I chose it based on their recommendation. Yes, it's a simple motel, but for my needs it was spot-on. They placed me in the least expensive and most centrally located place in town, with restaurants, parks, and a grocery store nearby, and still only about half a mile from the shop. That ended up being a huge deal because I would ultimately be stuck in Buellton for an entire week. On Monday when they inspected the car, Emmet, the owner, invited me down to see the diagnosis in person. I could immediately see the concern in his eyes and from the mechanic working on the car. They knew the news was bad and delivered it with genuine empathy. They were incredibly gentle with me, which meant a lot. Over the following days I had several phone calls with them and made a few visits to the shop. Each time felt more like visiting family than dealing with a repair shop. Mark, who has been there for years, was always great to chat with. Matt, the future owner, was a really good guy. Chu (I believe that's his name) was always supportive. None of them felt like "staff." This clearly felt like a family operation. Emmet has been an unbelievable support through the entire experience. Even as we shook hands goodbye, he offered to keep my car safely parked in his lot while I figured out transportation back to San Diego. I am writing this review from San Diego while my car still sits in his lot in Buellton. It's unsettling being five hours away from a dead car, but I feel completely safe knowing that it's in their hands. Let this review serve as a huge thank you to Olivera's, Emmet, and the entire staff. Everyone there was exceptional. And from watching other customers come in, it is clear that this is how they treat all people. They treat people like people, not numbers. It truly feels like a family.
