It keeps getting worse each time we go in there anymore. I use to like Garcia's because it was at least consistent. Today my husband, my grandma and I went in for lunch. I ordered a smothered cheese enchilada dinner. It was 2 cheese tortillas rolled up no enchilada to it and the cheese wasn't even melted. I was going to say something but I was informed that bringing up issues with the food their first response is "then eat somewhere else". This restaurant appears to be teetering on the edge of going out of business. We've eaten there before and it was okay. The last time, the food was short on the pricier ingredients - cheese, meat, vegetables. The portions were still larger than any one person really needs to eat, but mostly beans. We're all feeling the pinch of inflation, but this was ridiculous. The furniture is worn out to the point of being comparable to something left out on a curb for free. Recently at 11:30 am group of seven friends and I met at Garcia's for lunch. When we arrived there was one other customer sitting alone at a table. As the waitress was taking the drinks order, one lady requested iced tea. The waitress replied that they "were out" of iced tea. When someone ordered guacamole to be added to their dish, they didn't have guacamole. Another guest asked for a shredded beef dish (listed on the menu) to again, the restaurant was "out" of shredded beef. As the meal progressed, extra salsa was requested from both ends of the table. Upon delivering the two small bowls of salsa to the table, the waitress informed us that they "only make one batch" of salsa each day, and this extra salsa would be all we'd get. Once everyone had served the salsa, the waitress did not return to our table to ask if any of us would like refills of our beverages. Not to ask if all of they food orders were correct or alright which almost everyone agreed that the food was not tasty or even okay. Not even to provide us with our bills. Again, there were only nine customers total in this restaurant. And please understand that no one at the table was rude to her at any time. We were not being loud and boisterous. Neither was the original single customer at the other table. After the meal, a member of the group, who has chronic stomach and balance issues requiring that someone assist them, needed to use the restroom. "Things" got a bit messy. When the person assisting our friend to the restroom advised the restaurant employees who happened to be gathered around a table at the back of the restaurant that the restroom toilet would need to be cleaned, an employee rudely informed them that them would have to clean it. Which upset our elderly friend, causing them to cry while they attempted to clean the toilet. The friend who was with our friend insisted that they sit down while they cleaned the toilet. Our elderly friend was embarrassed and upset about being treated so unkindly and rude. Our other friend was absolutely furious. The bottom line is that 7 out of the 8 of us will not be dining at Garcia's ever again. read more

I've never been to Mexican restaurant that charges $7 for chips and salsa. The chicken fajitas were decent although they only csme with 2 tortillas. The server was not very friendly, never came back to check on things or refill my drink. Evidently you need to be a mind reader and know to pay up front, otherwise you will wait forever and not see a bill. read more

I had the chicken enchiladas with a side of green chili, it came with the standard rice and beans. The green chili is mildly hot, savory, but on the thin side. My lunch partner also had an enchilada with the red chili and rice and beans. We started with an order of chips and salsa, they make their own chips here. They are thick with good flavor. The salsa sweet and savory paired nicely with the thick chips. The enchiladas were a bit on the under seasoned side making them a bit boring. Service as good and the restaurant is clean. read more

My mother in-law chose to come here for her birthday dinner. Hubby and I had been to the old location once before, but this was our first time to this location. I loved the dark wood dining tables and the chairs were comfy. We decided to get chips and "all the sides" to start off with. It's a great way to sample everything. The fried flour tortilla chips came with bean dip, guacamole, salsa, and queso. It was all ok, nothing outstanding. The queso is actually nacho cheese sauce which was kind of a disappointment. Not that I have anything against nacho cheese lol! I guess I was expecting more of queso fondito. Real cheese melted down. Hubby ordered a beef and been burrito with green chile and I ordered the carne asada taco plate. I was a little shocked when I saw the burrito. I'm so used to seeing them smothered. This burrito had the green chile inside. It was good, just not what I am used to. I told hubby next time he can order the chile on the side and smother it himself. The carne asada tacos were really good! And, you can choose what kind of tortilla you want them served on. They didn't skimp on the steak and it had great flavor. It was served with lettuce, cheese, onions, and fresh jalapenos. The beans were a little dry but tasty and I liked the rice. Hubby thought it tasted a little bland, but I thought it was good. My mother in law ordered a fried bean and cheese burrito which is like a chimichanga. It looked good, but again, not smothered. Over all it was good, hubby and I would come back again. read more

As a volleyball team we made a reservation for dinner here. Our server was very rude when we arrived and it continued through the whole time of us being there. Along with all of that, they turned the grill off after knowing we had a reservation, and then they were out of over half their menu. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Beware! The owner screamed in my face when I asked if I could order something else because the refried beans were very salty. She yelled that nobody else complained (my food came first and all of our party couldn't eat the beans) so I will be paying for the meal or it's theft. When I stated I would not be paying, she called the police. The police arrived and obviously, the officers agreed nothing would be done and I did not pay for the meal. Honestly some of the best food in the area. The problem isn't the food. I can't begin to count how many times we've driven or ridden our bikes the 35 miles from Scottsbluff only to find these guys closed. If your big neon light says "OPEN", then be open. If your hours on the door say you're open from 11-8 and it's 4:00, be open. Being closed when you say you're open is arrogant and shows you don't appreciate your customers. Sorry... Third time to visit this establishment and unfortunately they will NEVER have our returning business. First time food was good, services was terrible. Tried again tonight we ended up with the same server as the first visit. At the beginning of our visit she had a terrible I hate my job rbf. Which already gave us a bad taste about tonight's dinner. Anyways...drinks were empty and she never returned but we watched our server sit and talk to others while we waited. So we took matters into our own hands and went to the bar to get someone to refill our drinks. Manger and server again just looked but never budged so we filled our own drinks. This caused a large commotion because the manger decided to become rude about the situation when she could have easily apologized for her bad server and took the cup to fill it but instead she yelled and through a fit because we filled our cup. Later the manger showed at the table to bring our food....as she continued to be very unprofessional and we asked for our tickets and she stated that was the best idea yet. We also asked the manger and serve for knives 3 times before we finally received what we needed. We are still in shock at how the manger decided to handle the situation. I've ate here for years, the service hasn't always been the greatest when dining in. Always had no problems changing something minor like beef and bean burrito to a bean and cheese burrito but the young lady I spoke with yesterday on the phone to place a to go order was snotty and rude repeatedly telling me they just can't do that when I know I have several times even from her. I guess they just can't get my business anymore either. I believe the girls parents own the place and she feels it's ok to treat paying customers anyway she feels fit. Horrible. They actually CHARGE you for basic chips and salsa. My mom and I ordered cheese enchiladas, and we had to send them back because we received beef instead. The enchiladas were served dry with a little bit of lettuce and tomato on top. I mean, thanks, but I can roll some cheese into a tortilla and microwave it myself for a fraction of the price. My dad ordered the tacos, and the taco shells were impressive. However, they contained only beef, lettuce, and tomato. No cheese, no sauce of any kind. Plus, our silverware was dirty. read more

The service was the absolutely worst ever!!! My sister ordered an appetizer of nachos. She clarified it twice with the server. Nonetheless, the main dish one was brought. It was prepared very different than it was ordered. My sister sent it back and was then told that "she ordered it, she had to pay for it". Last week was a disappointment this week was a delight. Food was excellent along with presentation. (Zero stars) We ordered chips and queso and we ended up getting a cup of heated up nacho cheese. My mom ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla and was given just a cheese quesadilla. She also ordered guacamole and when she got it, the guacamole was almost black. She never ate any of it and they refused to take it off our bill. When we told the waitress about the mistake she simply said "I think you just ordered cheese" and walked away. She never came back. We were driving through from Denver to Rapid City and stumbled upon this place for a bite to eat as we took a break from our winter drive. What a pleasant surprise! We had combination fajitas and the carne asada tacos meals. They were both fantastic! It's been awhile since we've had fajitas with seasoning on the meat - the chicken had great flavor, as did the steak and the steak was even tender. The veggies were cooked to perfection and were a combination of onions, green, red and yellow bell peppers. We asked for a side of salsa with our meal and it was spicy and delicious! Everything seemed fresh and homemade. We opted not to get the chips and salsa for the extra charge, but saw other tables ordering them and we were a bit jealous when we saw the homemade tortilla chips that came out on those platters. Next time we come back through, we will make a point to stop here again and you better believe we will order the chips and salsa! read more
