For some reason there seem to be quite a few bars around the country named Shenanigans. You always…read moreremember your first and my first visit to a Shenanigans was in Sewanee, TN where unknown to me my pals Beanland were playing a gig much to my surprise! So I've returned many times to the Sewanee Shenanigans over the years while somehow missing the fact that there is also a Shenanigans in Metairie which I also learned offers a steak night. On further investigation I also learned they have live music on a pretty regular schedule so all that sounded like a real win to me! So I planned a time where I could combine steak night with some live music and I ended up having a fantastic time with both my steak and the live music for my first visit here. I made another return visit for more live music and sampled the burger which was also quite nice. I have returned for quite a number of visits at this point and have found this to be quite a pleasant place to pass a good time with good food, good times, good music and good people! If you happen to look on YouTube you might even find a video by NOLA Gent about this location as well!

When I walked in the bartender and the customers made me feel right at home. Very friendly neighborhood bar. The bar and the bathrooms were very clean and did not smell at all. The highlights were definitely the go-carts but also the arcade because the variety of games are great. There's something for everyone including adults so it's great for date night or just hanging out and watching a game at the bar. The TVs are huge. We had drinks but didn't have any food but from what we saw being served, it appeared to be pretty standard bar food. Can't wait to go back and try bowling and laser tag.

Kiosk idea is cool for people with small parties of ppl but I would have rather having an option to having a server. Getting drinks from the bar was a nightmare . Only 2 bartenders on a Saturday with a packed place. Food comes out on this big tray and thankfully after struggling a nice worker offered to carry it for me . Maybe what needs to be done is cafe style where you give them a number for the table and the worker can walk out the food to ur table. I also heard ppl complaining about the food and service. A lot of wasted space which I feel could have been utilized for seating area. Workers seemed over worked and confused. I feel like this place is a good idea but needs fine tuning. What I think is for the price of things the value of the service needs to be better. When ur paying resort prices but feel like ur at a motel 6 that's not right. I doubt drew Bree's would be satisfied with his experience last night. Which from my understanding he owns this establishment .

So I guess it was meant to be that we came here for lunch because they had oyster salad on their menu!!! It was delicious! The oysters here are from Acme oyster house (thats what I was told). Perfectly fried and so yummie! Plenty of seating at this little sit down joint. They have a TV if you want to keep up with the news and current events. Prices are very reasonable for the airport. I think my oyster salad was about $11.50. Not too shabby!

The restaurant options in B Concourse are pretty thin, so this is where we had lunch yesterday…read morewhile awaiting our flight home. The other sit-down options were a noisy bar or a crowded food court w/ the Praline Connection Restaurant, an ice cream place and Subway. Subway??? WTF?! There may have been other eat-in options beyond gate B9, but we didn't walk farther than our gate and we didn't want to take out food to eat in the gate area. Food at Jester is cooked to order, so that seemed promising. Alan had a cheese steak, Sherri had a grilled chicken sandwich, Ron had a hamburger and I had a fried shrimp salad. Alan also picked up a fruit salad for us to share. Ron and Alan described their sandwiches as "OK" w/o enthusiasm. Sherri said her chicken was dry. My shrimp salad was pretty good. You can't go far wrong w/ fried shrimp, after all. The lettuce was fresh and there was shredded mild cheddar cheese atop the lettuce. There were thinly sliced tomato halves at either edge. Dressings were those big pouches of Kraft's. I chose the balsamic vinaigrette. The tomatoes tasted nasty. I know winter tomatoes aren't great, but these were really bad. They remained on the plate. The fruit salad was equally bad. We ate a few bites of the various pieces of fruit and tossed the rest out. I wish it had been practical to stop at Stein's Market & Deli before heading to the airport to pick up sandwiches, http://steinsdeli.net/home/ since Joi's review was so great, but it wasn't. Service was polite and accommodating when we ordered. I find it unaccountable that the airport in a city known for its food should have such a paucity of options. Where are the Emeril or John Besh outposts? Or just the local good fried chicken joints? I don't know what's in the other concourses, but wasn't impressed w/ the offerings in B. All over the country we've found surprisingly good food options when we've needed them, from Houston to Newark to Kansas City to Boston. The lack of good food here goes along w/ the lack of music and the lack of personality in the airport serving a city known for all three.
