Garage Guru - Garage Guru. Family owned. - Garage Door Services Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

Andrew and his father, James, are the best. They not only get the work done they were hired to do, they go above and beyond such as tightening other bolts, applying lubricant, installing screws to shore up parts of the door not included in the original job, etc. The price was about half what I thought it would be. Great value. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

I have used Garage Guru a couple of times. For clients who are moving into a new home, and recently for my own home. Our garage came off the track, and completely broke. They were able to come out, let me know the issue, and after much conversing, we got a whole garage door upgrade complete with windows. It's beautiful, we got a great price and I'm so pleased with it. read more

I was happy I didn't have to wait for days. Joseph came with a wifi connection garage open. I was elated and the price was very reasonable. The garage door operates quietly and smoothly . Absolutely love it. Joe took the time to explain everything before he left. Great service . I will recommend to anyone to use this professional business. read more

Second time using Garage guru, first we installed a new garage door with them years ago. Everything went great.. this time I wanted to higher our garage door opening from 7ft to 8.6 to fit an RV inside. Kind of a tricky custom job with the space we had available but Joseph knew what to do and got the job done. RV fits inside so I am happy :) read more

Reviewed job gave quote told me would call to schedule. Never called, showed, no explanation at all would not use again. Buyer beware

Garage Guru was fast to respond to my call. They arrived on time, were very professional and efficient. In addition their prices were better than other quotes. Josh explained the problem and fixed it within an hour. Problem: the pulley system/spring broke. read more

Veronica dispatched Josh to fix my garage door within couple days of my Call. I could have had it done the very next day, but my own schedule conflicted. I was anticipating significant repair or replacement, but Josh fixed right quick & gave me patient instruction how to maintain @ minimal cost. The *other* guys assured me I need a whole new garage door opener, and an expensive one at that! I decided to get a 2nd opinion. Garage Guru was prompt, professional, friendly, and easy to deal with for the appointment...and best of all, Josh agreed with me that all I probably needed was a new sensor. It was installed at a very fair price on the spot. Months later now...and the problem remains fixed. Love it when I find a small business like this! read more

It was Mother's Day, Sunday, we are on our way out to the trail then it happened... that creaking sound when the garage door was slowly trying to open and it did but wont close anymore. Tried to figure out what's wrong while in dismay, the day is ruined! After scouring youtube for 10 mins for a solution, I remembered that Joseph the Garage Guru lives around the block from me, so I sent him a message in FB, I was doubtful that I would get a response since it is a Sunday and Mother's day too. He replied back after 10 mins and was in my house shortly. He replaced the springs, cables, tubes and hardware in less than an hour, he did a good job for a reasonable price and our garage door was up and running. Joseph is a pro, very respectful and a kind man. He saved the day! If you ever have any issues with your garage door or need a new one, I highly recommend Garage Guru! read more

They were on time and very efficient. They repaired the door and it is much better than before it broke.

The install and sale were fine, Joseph seemed honest. We really liked meeting him and his son, looked forward to doing b usiness on several more garage doors. Did a super fast install. But, he installed the weather stripping wrong. Our garage door wouldn't close or open properly. When I asked him to come back out, he said he had too many other jobs, and would come out *if* he was nearby, but did not know when. Then one day he showed up when I was not there, and said he could not wait 30 minutes for me to get there, and would not come back later in the day. He says his wife handles his scheduling, so I emailed asking to be put on the schedule to complete the job. His wife emailed me back aggressive and insulting, saying it was my fault for not wanting the guy who didn't install it right the first time to do it again with me not there. WELL OF COURSE I wanted to be there to make sure it actually works this time. This could have been easily solved by either A-installing it right the first time, or B-simply calling ahead to let me know he was on the way... instead of just showing up unannounced and trying to get away with unfinished work again. THEN he blocked my phone number, and she blocked my email. Joseph will not service what he sells, and his wife/manager is the same. Avoid doing business with this guy. read more

Garage door Key pad was no longer working with pin and tried resetting with online chat with Genie, watches videos and used online instructions with no success. Called Garage Guru and in less than 24 hours. They were able to get my keypad working in no time. They were very responsive when calling to set up time, professional and on time. An accident caused my garage door to become bent and I needed a replacement. I contacted the company through their FB page (owner responded), arranged a replacement door and was quoted a price. The owner himself, and another employee family member showed up on time and replaced the door quickly. They even noticed my veteran license plate and gave me a generous discount. There was no drama or tricks, just a professsional job done for a fair price. It should be noted this was on a sunday. Thanks guys. I am thoroughly impressed. read more

Quick. Fast. Efficient. Honest. Helped my family after the ice storm and really took great care of us. My dad already knew what we needed but hes older now and couldnt handle it himself so we called for help. needless to say they helped and we could tell they were being honest and not just trying to make a dollar. Honesty is always the best policy so as a woman taking care for her elderly parents; we appreciate when businesses dont attempt to try and take advantage. Thanks a million!! read more

My fellow Yelpers, if you have a problem with your garage door, call the Garage Guru. No need to look further! In my experience, this family-owned business is beyond honest and not looking to jack up prices.  I called them today when my garage door hung on me and wouldn't close. Not only did they fix a minor spring issue and put a wheel back in alignment, they didn't charge me. Why? Because it didn't take him no time at all. I was beyond touched ESP since money has been tight and the last thing I needed was an unexpected expense. I've read other reviews of customers who experienced the same kindness. Joseph did explain to me how my garage door was getting heavy for the spring and will need to be replaced in the future. He also showed me the plastic brackets that were broken. He gave me a low estimate for a spring replacement (they use metal brackets instead of the flimsy ones like mine that broke) and with a lifetime warranty. It is a great deal. I will indeed call Garage Guru in the future for all my garage issues and maintenance and I highly recommend you call them too. read more

I want to thank the Garage Gurus for the great work they did installing my new garage door opener. I was tempted to go buy a garage door opener myself and try to install it. So glad that I called them first. Hassle free, great work, fair price. Thank you Rodriguez family. I know who to call for all my garage door needs. Much appreciated! read more

Husband got home from work and the garage door wouldn't open! After some research he called Garage Guru. Since the car was already outside there was no reason for an evening appointment, but they were here at apx 8:30 the next morning. The broken spring was replaced within an hour, but also revealed another future problem. We have an 18' wide garage door vs traditional 16' and the builder's grade door's starting to sag. Eventually it'll quit working! It also explains why it gets hung up occasionally. He gave me a quote for a replacement, but no pressure sales tactics were used. Garage Guru's very professional and timely. It was a pleasure to work with an honest small business owner vs the big box stores!! read more

Our 17 year old garage door opener quit working leaving my wife's car on the driveway. I was looking for someone that would be willing to come to Lytle and see if they could fix it. I read the 5 star Yelp reviews for Garage Guru and even though I was outside their coverage area shown, I gave them a call. I called them Monday to see if they would come out to Lytle and they said yes. They told me that they could be here between 8:00 and 8:30AM on Tuesday. Tuesday morning At 8:10 AM Joseph was standing on our front porch. He looked at our old garage door opener and said he could try and fix it if we wanted but he couldn't guarantee how long it would work. He gave me a price on a new Liftmaster with two controllers and an outside keypad that was $30.00 cheaper than another company I called. I authorized the work and in less than an hour they were done. They were quick and professional. When my other 17 year old opener eventually dies I know just who to call. The only recommendation I would make to Garage Guru is to update your service area map. I almost didn't call you but I couldn't ignore all the 5 star reviews. read more
