On February 9, Perry's installed a new Chamberlain opener. From day one, the HomeLink system in my Escalade worked intermittently--or not at all. My 25-year-old opener had worked flawlessly with HomeLink, even with a smart device connected for app and voice control. After installation, Derrick mentioned that device might interfere with the Wi-Fi, so I disconnected it. The problem persisted, confirming it wasn't the cause. I was also told the opener was Alexa-compatible, which it isn't. This was disappointing, especially since some family members rely on Alexa Auto. Something about this opener just isn't compatible--or possibly it's defective. Derrick suggested contacting Chamberlain and HomeLink, and said he'd look into it himself. But he never followed up. I contacted both companies, but neither could help--each blamed the other, and Derrick stopped responding to calls and texts. Because HomeLink wasn't reliable, I left the remote in my cup holder. One day while backing out, my keys bumped the remote and triggered the door to close--damaging both the garage door and my car (see video). I got a hold of Naudia, who scheduled Derrick to assess the damage on March 22. After multiple calls and texts, Naudia informed me that he was running late. He eventually showed up 3 hours late, and made a temporary repair to the door at no charge. He also agreed to let me swap for a different opener and said he'd look into a replacement panel for the door. After that, communication began to fade. On April 11, Naudia said the new opener and threshold had been ordered and she would have a panel price that day. Since then, I've followed up repeatedly by text and phone but received no response. It is now May 12. I don't like posting bad reviews. I chose Perry's because they're a local, family-owned business. But they didn't live up to their commitments and ultimately ghosted me like a Tinder fling. I understand the opener technically works; it just doesn't work with my HomeLink system. That may not be entirely their fault, but they installed it, misrepresented Alexa compatibility, offered no meaningful support, and stopped responding altogether. Furthermore, my car was damaged, and I am now looking to replace the door--damage that could've been avoided had they responded in a timely manner. I've since filed a dispute with my credit card company. Based on this experience, they're not getting my recommendation. read more

Excellent service. The spring on our garage door broke at approximately 8pm on a Thursday. I called at about 8:15PM and they answered the phone and talked with me about a repair the next day. Perry came out to my house 1.5 hours before the appointment time slot (he did call and ask if it was okay) and replaced the torsion tube and spring within an hour. I value his service because he: 1) explained to me what was wrong and showed me, 2) gave me options on the repair and gave me an estimate, 3) fixed the issue quickly and effectively, 4) demonstrated the problem was solved, and 5) he showed me the broken part (this quote honestly was one of the most important things he did).
