Our garage door spring (left) decided it had had enough and decided to break late on a Saturday. I found the Garage Guys on Yelp after a quick search and found David who responded very promptly and showed up within an hour as he promised right on time. He did a thorough job, at a reasonable price and also recommended what I should do to extend the life of my garage door components. David had a great attitude and being a local merchant I'm happy to give them more work. Kudos on a super efficient and fast job done. read more

I had a 3 year track record with David. He had completed 2 projects to my satisfaction. I always accommodated his need for cash. In November David came out promptly to replace a spring. In hindsight, he gouged me on the price. I paid him in advance to replace the opener. He installed but did not connect the safety eyes nor deliver the remotes. Despite many promises to return over the next 3 months, David has gone missing. read more

Do NOT use this business. David's service has gotten worst over the years. Let me count the ways... Sowed up one hour late for the appointment. He'll ask cash in advance to buy the parts before starting the repair/install. You are a business owner, you should have enough capital to buy the parts and finish the job before charging customers!! One time he didn't give me the receipt despite asking many times. I needed the receipt for proof of warranty and as a rental owner, need it for tax reporting. If you pay by check, he'll say the price I quoted you was cash. Sounds like he's trying to avoid income tax reporting, thus not giving customer's receipt. This is from the About section of their business, "We carry all major make and models. We will show up on time and on budget. Give us a call and let us surprise you." Yeah, you'll be surprised... by the terrible service !!! read more

Garage Door spring broke. Made appointment. Replaced spring in 45 minutes. Door is as good as new.

Our garage door spring (10 yr old) broke without warning. Someone in a social media group recommended Ron. I looked him up on Yelp and his reviews convinced me he will do a fine job. My only reference point in pricing was my neighbor who had their spring replaced 2 years ago. Ron's quote came in 25% lower than what they paid 2 years ago. Without wasting time to call more shops to compare, I decided to go with Ron. Next day Ron came on time. Finnish the job in 30-mins and showed us how to upkeep the garage door with lubricants. We did ZERO maintenance the last 10 years and now we know! Thanks Ron for the excellent job done and the great friendly customer service attitude. Will definitely recommend him to anyone who needs garage door services!! read more

Best prices, parts and service! I got quotes from about 10 garage door companies who I found on Yelp - all 5 stars and Garage Door Guys were the cheapest and they use high quality products. My garage door spring broke and David gave me a excellent rate and I upgraded to the 40,000 cycle springs for longer life. He uses oiled springs and he also changed my garage cables. The new cables he put in are thicker and more durable than my old ones. He repaired the garage door quickly and with the best products and price. I highly recommend David! read more

As good as it gets sums it for these guys. I called Saturday evening after coming home with broken springs on very heavy wood garage doors. The doors were so heavy that my wife, son, and I could not open them to get our car out. David arranged his schedule to come Saturday morning. He quickly realized the problem and said he could order the springs and install them on Monday. Monday afternoon he showed up as promised and within a few hours, my garage doors were working. If you need garage doors repaired or have a problem with doors in general, this is the vendor for you. read more

David did an excellent job installing a new garage door opener for a house in San Jose. He was courteous, professional and remained unfazed when the installation required the removal of extra wood pieces and the installation of new supports -- more work and time than he likely anticipated. He was careful and thorough with his work and made sure the area was clean before he left. We will definitely hire him for future projects, as his service area extends up to the Tri-Valley area. Highly recommend! read more

Called Dave on a Friday and he came out on Saturday morning. The price is about the same from several places I called and Dave was available the next day. He was detailed, took his time, and made sure the installation was not just up to code, but also looks clean and professional. He also explained to me how to maintain the opener and lubrication points, and how to program remotes. A very pleasant experience. read more

Just bought a home and go at recommendation from my contractor to use David as I want to change old chain type system on my garage door. Called up David, he is professional and gave me options what I could do. Set up a time and day to do it. He had some delay on the day but he called earlier to inform me and still came in to get my garage door fixed even though it was late. What surprises me was I did a similar change in my previous house a yr ago, David charged me less and gave me a better product, I now have the quiet belt system from lift master, and can open/close from my cell versus the last one I did, which is only changing to belt system and it was more expensive! Thank you, David! read more
