I booked a car 3 weeks in advance, but when I arrived at the desk, I was told the car was not available. Instead, they offered me a bigger SUV, but only if I paid an extra 60 CHF per day, which I refused because I wanted the same price I originally booked or a similar vehicle without extra charges.
Then they told me I would have to wait 3 hours for a similar car. I agreed, but after only 1 hour they called me back saying they found a "better car." When I returned, the car they offered was actually smaller and not even equivalent to what I originally booked.
At that point, I lost trust and requested a full refund because this felt very misleading. The manager agreed and told me I would receive a refund confirmation email within 1 hour.
However, it has now been over 7 hours and I have not received any confirmation.
This is the worst car rental experience I have ever had. Poor communication, misleading information, and unfulfilled promises. I do not recommend Sixt Zurich Airport at all.
