Yes, it is expensive, but it is custom, and you don't have to sort through boxes trying to find something for yourself! The quality is beautiful. It's about 8 minutes away from the original location and comes with hassle free parking. I went there today for the first time since they moved and boy was it worth it! The studio/shop is lovely and shopping was fun and hassle free and unpressured. I had a better sense of how stylish the clothes are. I had a mandate in mind. I'm doing a lot of travelling and I wanted to put together a wardrobe that was easily interchangeable and fun to wear and that would easily fit into a carry on suitcase. I'm thrilled with what I bought. The value and quality was great. I look forward to my next visit. Thank you Julie. I love your vision.

I came to find Miik clothing & bought two of their Emily Cardigans & a dress. Julie is the store owner & she was there the day I came in. She was so helpful & I loved her positive & friendly attitude. The decor of the store is nice too. There are natural wood logs acting as posts for the clothing racks. It's a nice, light, airy feeling in the store. There are two change rooms at the back & a mirror nearby so you can check out how things fit on you. He primarily caters to the professional woman (it has been described as the boutique for "women who read"), and men who love well-tailored but hip shirts made out of quality material. If you need help putting things together, they will be happy to help. Otherwise they will let you be as you explore the merchandise. The clothes are well-made and well-thought out- it is a good place to get conservative wardrobe staples if you can't afford Max Mara (or even if you can). I can't wait for him to design Alpaca wool women's coats...hint hint. One concern I have - and the only thing keeping this review from five stars- his clothes tend to fit the average woman and the long and lean type. If you are petite, choices are more limited. I think you can get pieces tailored to fit, so this may be an option. The prices are very reasonable for the quality- maybe a little more then Banana Republic or Club Monaco- and you are supporting a Canadian retailer!

Think dress shoes, dress shirts, ladies shoes, shirts, and accessories. This location isn't terribly large, but they do have a modest selection, (especially of shoes), that gave me some variety in my search. When I walked into the store, the salesman approached me noticing that I was attempting to match my suit jacket to appropriate shoes. We proceeded to walk through a number of different options and chose a number to try. J&M service has the nice touch of having their salespeople hands-on fit you with the shoes when trying them on. Though to be honest, even though I appreciated this, I eventually asked to just try them on myself. Too much good treatment and my bougie meter would explode. I quite like the style of their shoes in general, and even better, most of them are surprisingly comfortable. At the time, they had a sale going on, which made their shoes even more accessible, but even without the sale, I must say that J&M's value to price point ratio is pretty high. Take walk to most of the surrounding stores and you'll be hard pressed to find shoes of the same style & quality at the same price. If my job necessitated more business casual or formal wear, I would certainly make a couple more purchases at J&M. Come for the clothing, appreciate the service, take advantage of the price.

They have super cute vintage dresses that I was particular taken with and still love to look at (even though during covid my preferred outfit is sweats). I got so many compliments on dresses I bought from that store, whether I wore their stuff socially or at work. Actually it kind of made me feel like I was one of those glamorous women in Mad Men. I'll always have a soft spot for this place - highly recommend if you're into vintage, pretty dresses. Most of that part of Queen Street has great vintage finds.

There were more adorable earrings, purses, and clothes than I could fathom. My friend and I wandered the store for nearly an hour alternately exclaiming, "cute!" with mouth agape or chatting up the staff. As Erin H mentions, each showcased artist/designer works onsite once a week. The only downside to this is if inquiring minds have questions about something other than the artist du jour personally made, there won't be any answers. And as a person with some hard core metal allergies, I won't buy jewelry unless I am certain that it doesn't contain anything that will make my earlobes swell. However, I was lucky to encounter the artist who crafted the earrings that fell in love with and so, got to take them home with me (and support the local arts). Plus, I was able to be a helper that day (I love being of assistance). As the resident artist handed me a credit card receipt, I was able to pass along this little tip: legal colors only please! I passed on the pink pen handed to me and instead signed with a my own, handy blue plume. For, although I wasn't planning on contesting the charges, anyone could attempt to do so and without either a customer's blue or black ink signature on file, the store might end up "out" some fundage.
