Mani Jassal - M A N I J A S S A L prêt COLLECTION AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE NOW IN STORE

Mani Jassal

I discovered Mani Jassal while I was a bridesmaid for an Indian wedding. I was helping a friend…read morefind formal dresses for her ceremonies, and we were getting very tired and frustrated with finding just the usual, traditional, boxy Indian wedding garb that we were finding at a majority of stores in Mississauga, Brampton, and East Toronto. We wanted something more hip, more modern - and Mani's creations are just that. Mani's Style: Mani marries traditional Indian clothing with hip. That's the best way I can describe her style and designs. She tries to make sure her clothing appeals to a younger crowd (while also having stylish but conservative attire for older age groups). Her designs are incredibly stylish, inventive, and reflects current trends. Colourful, but cut well, and stylish. The Showroom: Mani Jassal herself is incredibly sweet, helpful, and responsive. Visiting her showroom is by appointment only, so you have to reach out by email to set something up. Once you're there (with Drake and upbeat hip hop humming in the background), someone is there to assist you with finding what you're looking for. The showroom is clean, presented well, and reflects a truly modern and trendy style without straying too far from the foundations of Indian dress. Pricing: We actually found pricing to be very reasonable, compared to other more traditional shops we visited in Mississauga/Brampton. Overall, we were really glad we found Mani. If you're looking for Indian formal wear that's on the trendier and modern side (but still reflecting Indian dress style), this is the place for you. I highly recommend checking out her shop!

Sahiba Fashions - Did not remove the treads or the cups or cancan despite asking many times. Super disappointed.

Super frustrated with my most recent experience. I used to be a huge fan of Sahiba Fashions and…read morebought many outfits from here about 5-8 years ago for all our wedding shopping. I was really looking forward to shopping here again and made a trip from the United States to Toronto to get a lengha for an upcoming event. However, I ended up rather disappointed. After purchasing a lengha and paying for alterations, it seems that the majority of my requested alterations were neglected entirely. I thought this must be a simple mistake, but when I called the store to inquire about the issue, the woman on the phone denied that the store had made an error at all. Instead she argued that I had never requested those alterations and rushed me off the phone, hanging up before I could finish my sentence. I had clearly expressed at the store that I wanted a lengha skirt without can can, and that I needed the cups removed from the blouse and that the threads at the bottom of the skirt that would need to be trimmed. Per the attached photo, you can see the threads were left quite messily; perhaps the store no longer values excellence the way it once did.

The first time I visited here was this past summer as my husband tagged me in their Instagram post announcing a sale. I needed to get an outfit for my brother in law's wedding reception and am so glad I came to Sahiba. Since I am not a standard size, I didn't find too many samples that fit off the rack however the tailor was kind enough to let me know which pieces she could alter properly to fit my frame. In the end my husband found a beautiful anarkali dress which fit almost perfectly - I just had to get it taken in a little bit. Not to mention, it was marked down over $1000 off! The store employees were very nice to me and helped me to find what I was looking for, which was very much appreciated! I ended up sending my mom here as well to find outfits for the same wedding and she also enjoyed her experience here plus found a few beautiful pieces. Will be back again soon in the New Year for more outfits. Thanks Sahiba!
