Elegant Relic is both a home furnishing store, with a fair mix of redone antique items and modern equivalents. But they also have a cute clothing boutique that has some unusual items. There's a vintage vibe to everything. Maybe it's the subdued lighting, the scented candles and the hardwood floors, but everything is well displayed and draws you in. The clothing in the upstairs area (hen feathers) has a bohemian feel with mostly unstructured garments, but that might be owing more to the time of year than anything else. Although I didn't find anything I had to have, it was nice change of pace. The owner directed me to quite a few items on special and owing to her salesmanship skills, nearly had me buying it all. She wasn't pushy about it, though, and that itself was pretty remarkable. For the most part though, when I preferred to browse without a sales person following me around, the Elegant Relic staff let that happen. The environment was not welcoming at all, and they were definitely not helpful toward me. Honestly, the way I was treated made me feel like there was some type of bias involved. I shouldn't have to walk into a business prepared to spend my money and feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, or as though I'm bothering the employees. And I'm not looking for anyone to contact me with excuses about why their behavior or customer service was the way it was. I want to know what is actually going to be done to improve the customer experience, improve the service, and ultimately improve the reviews. Customers are spending their hard-earned money. We deserve to be treated with respect, professionalism, and good customer service from the moment we walk through the door.

I found and purchased a two piece powder lavender pant suit at one store but unfortunately found no blouse to match. My search then began for a blouse. I then entered into the LOFT Outlet store and saw they had the PERFECT blouse match for the suit. I was thrilled that my shopping adventure was a success! In addition to my lavender blouse purchase I grabbed two more pairs of slacks and an additional blouse for checkout. Upon arriving home much later that evening, to my astonishment, disappointment and anger I found that my lavender blouse was missing!!!! The clerk never placed the item in my bag and never charged me for it! We had a lengthy conversation about how excited I was to find a blouse that was the PEFECT match for the pant suit. She even had my "purchased" lavender slacks behind the counter with her as I shopped in the store for additional items. On Friday afternoon I placed a call to the Loft store and requested to speak with Associated ID: 6861688 and I requested to address her by name. The young lady who answered my call said "ummm I don't know who that associate is off the top of my head." She never offered to look the ID number up to help further assist me. She then asked how she could help, without giving me her name. Which of course leads me to believe that SHE was Associate 6861688. I explained the whole story to her and I asked, "how are we going to remedy this situation?" I offered 3 solutions - which I was answered with "unfortunately we can't do any of those." My response was "what do you recommend?" She then said, "you can drive back to our store and purchase the blouse." I told her that was not possible since I was from out of town. I then requested to speak to the store Manager. I was told Friday was her day off. The Associate placed me on hold while she called her manager. I waited and then the call was disconnected by the Associate. I called back immediately. Since the Associate and evidently the Manager were having a difficult time understanding the seriousness of the issue, I requested a call back from the Manager, who is Liz Carroll. As of Tuesday May 21st I still have not heard from the store Manager, Liz. I was told by the Associate that I was making her "uncomfortable" because of insisting on conflict resolution. I explained to her, "do you know how uncomfortable I felt when I realized you had not done the one thing, you're getting PAID to do and that is to provide customer service during checkout." Associate 6861688 made a terrible error in doing her job and is not held accountable. She and the Manager represent the quality of employee that LOFT Outlet employs and stands behind. To date there has been no resolution offered by Loft!
