Naemg Myun (Korean cold buck needle) - looks great, but overcooked and tasted like package

After a week of pasta, pasta and you know . . . Even more pasta, we decided to make Christmas about Korean bbq. This is definitely not in the upper echelon or Korean BBQ globally, but definitely will give you a Korean bbq fix and then some. Panjeon (seafood pancake) was light and tasty, and portioned for 1 or 2 ppl instead of the usual "family size" I normally see. We had the pork galbi, a favorite, and it did not disappoint. Not the best, but just all the right notes. My Korean wife had the kimchi jigae, which is a comfort food for her, and it hit the spot! (Go Florence!) The only miss was the Korean cold buckwheat noodle. Preparation had all the looks of a superstar, from slushee ice in the broth to slices of apple, carrot and cucumber. However, it tasted like "out of the package" and overcooked to boot. Lastly, this is "smokesless" bbq, so don't expect charcoal or super high heat. However, no problems getting a decent char. (Hint: turn up the heat!)

This was our go-to Korean restaurant during our stay here in Florence. The perfect break from pizza and pasta and it always hit the spot. We tried Goong Korean restaurant on the other side of the city, but it was way over priced and not as good as Gangnam. The food wasn't gourmet or anything special, but it definitely had all the basic Korean dishes to satiate our cravings!

Food was = 4.5, but service was = 2.5 The food was marinated very well, but what made me give this restaurant such a low score was when we we're seated I noticed my utensil & napkin had a dead fly on it which I pointed out to the server and asked for a new one. But instead, my fiancé saw with his own eyes that they wiped off the dead fly and gave me the same utensils and napkin. That to be is a HUGE NO NO and honestly very disturbing and unsanitary. And the service is very slow and servers weren't attentive at all. We kept having to wave the servers down.

Very delicious pork belly, with kimchi hot pot. Love love every bite of it....

Review is little late but, this Korean restaurant in Florence was a jackpot for us travelers from US. Honestly didn't expect too much (was just excited that we were able to eat Korean food in Florence,) but to our surprise the food was very.. very good. The owners are Chinese Korean and the food style is from their hometown cooking. Not that much is different from authentic Korean food ... just the cooking style that's all. My husband I had Sam-gyub-sal (pork belly) with Kim Chi pot... which was perfect for our Korean American taste. Went back couple times till on our way to our next destination ~~ Nice France. Recommend this place for good Korean food.

Tangsuyuk () - different but in a good way

Would I go back? Yes Keeping in mind this is Firenze, it's one of the few Korean restaurants in the area and one of the better ones. It'll fulfill the "I need bap and kimchi" fix. Wife and I (both Korean) ordered: Soondubu (): 2/5 so watery and bland Tangsuyuk (): 4/5 quite different, in a good way. Gogi kimbap (): 3/5 average kimbap Service: 3/5 - typical Korean service, not much conversation, not a bad thing

Bulgogi and samgyupsal as a ssam

I'd say this place is average. Not disgustingly bad, not amazing. If you really really need Korean food, this place is not too bad. I'd give it 2 stars if it was in NY or LA. No star if it was in Korea. But given that it's Florence, and my need for Korean food was very very desperate, I give it 3 stars.

Had a great experience at Gangnam! Service was good even though the waiters spoke very little English and the food here was delicious :)

The service was impeccable, and Danilo creates an amazing experience. Located in close proximity to the Academy Gallery and other landmarks, the restaurant has a big city vibe and sensibility for it. This is the place you visit with those who have a deeper appreciation for fine foods and harder to find delicacies. I highly recommend the La Carbonata Experience - an artisanal journey for two that includes the best dishes in the house. The tartare was packed full of flavor, the onion soup was a rewarding surprise and even the asparagus was a noteworthy treasure that left me astonished. The star of the show, the Florentine Steak, was amazing and its simplicity, its perfection, and then it's one of a kind flavor. Every morsel was presented at its finest and left me with a deep appreciation for this famous dish. Like most Italian dishes, the recipe is simple, but the mastery is truly something to behold. Desserts were such a pleasant surprise. The tiramisu was presented almost like a tartufo, and our other offerings were light, creamy, airy, heavenly, and quickly devoured. A must-visit location when you're in Florence.

The cute Korean rosticceria with wonderfullly nice service is located right near the main train station (Santa Maria Novella). The menu offers limited choices but, I can tell you that we've tried everything... EVERYTHING and it's all fingerlicking good. The place is small, but offers various seating options. Here are my recommendations: bulgogi - marinated beef with rice (€8.90), bibimbap - fresh marinated vegetables served with rice (€8.90), jap chae - glass noodles with vegetables and meat (€8.90), dakgangjung - spicy/sweet marinated chicken pieces (€4.90/6 pieces or €6.90/10 pieces) and the tteokbokki - spicy rice cake (€5.90). They added some summer drinks: iced american coffee (€3.50), pomegranate iced tea (€3.90), plum iced tea (€3.90), cherry iced tea (€3.90) to the menu and a korean dessert specialty patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet red bean). I agree with one of the reviewers that if you do not like spicy food, the choices are limited to the small menu, but there are definitely non-spicy items to try like the dumplings, jap chae and meat dishes. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for some Korean food!
