Ganesha is clean upscale Indian restaurant in old town of Nuremberg, with absolutely fantastic food, and good looking environment! Samosas were great...slightly smaller than in the US but excellent. Mango lassi was fantastic, all inclusive of the cup it was served in. Tandoori garlic chicken was the main course and was great. Super tender juicy chicken with a sauce that packs a punch. I did observe that Naan bread was a bit thin compared to what I experienced before and waiter explained that Germans prefer it that way! The only thing I would say could improve is customer service....this place has none. Order food, you get food. That's about it. Staff appears not happy, and the feeling you get is that jail guards dressed as waiters are serving fantastic food. Don't ask any questions as they are not happy answering them. read more

The menu is extensive, with descriptions in both German and English. The peshwari naan has fresh raisins, slices of coconut, and shaved almonds. The Aloo Palak is very flavorful, with spinach, potatoes, and a strong fresh herb flavor. The paneer is tender and mild. Everything is delicious and well portioned. Both the mango lassi and chai latte were great. Not so sweet like American versions. Such a good afternoon trip away from Germany and to India. read more

Upon entering I was stunned by the interior decor it feels as if I'm in an Indian palace being served with loyalty. The service was splendid as they took our order and gave us an appetizer. (Popper with chutney). I ordered a chicken tikka masala (my all time favorite dish) with garlic naan and my dad ordered the lamb biryani. Once the food came the presentation was outstanding once they served with a tray and a heater underneath. I tasted the chicken tikka masala and it is a dish to die for. Afte to was finished with my dish a got Galub Jamun served on a little tray just like the biryani and tikka masala. Overall, if your looking for an Indian cuisine in Nuremberg, Germany this is a place to go. read more

Hi Guys Go to this restaurant at your own risk. As I have been fooled by good rating and good comments I think its my moral duty to make people aware about the pathetic experience. We went to Nurnberg on 15 April 2022 for a day trip. I did a quick check here and quickly decided on nearby Indian restaurant to fortress based on decent comments. Waiter has been the most unwelcoming. To quote his responses: Jahan man kare wahan baith jao- on asking for where it is better to sit Sabhi bhadiya banta hai- on asking for recommendations Everything is prepared- on asking for amplifying chillies to indian taste bud. For pakoras- he said its already prepared we will refry. Even though he said its prepared in morning but from taste I can tell it is 2-3 days stale. Tandoori chicken had gravy and when we resent for drying it up and add charriness he says log bolte hain jala diya. Lamb curry and chicken kadhai had same grave as tandoori chicken:P Fresh and decent tasting items were papad, onion, tomato, lemon and beer. Chole had cream gravy.. but was palatable. Quantity is very less for the prize which ranges upwards of 14 euro. As we were at new place plans on trip we did not say much and left. I had to bathe 2 times to clear the head from the disgusting food. Lunch at this place actually ruined the trip and noone enjoyed anything after it. The overall experience can be summed up as if someone gave you a stale indian tea by reheating the next morning for your bed tea. It ruins your entire day. Zero star and staying away from all unknown indian restaurants at least for six months. Can't attach pics as none taken. Delicious reasonably priced Indian food in the center of Nuremberg. Stopped when site seeing. Both vegan and gluten free options. We had something from the lunch menu, at the back of the regular menu. Included rice, salad, entree. I had the lamb Korma which was tender, had a bit of spice though not too spicy and I very much enjoy. My husband chicken curry which was mild and very tasty. We are outside. The inside is very cute. I've eaten Indian cuisine nearly everywhere from New York to London to Berlin. This was easily the worst I've had. Food was tasteless and not fresh. A tandoori grill should not require gravy/sauce...the oven/spices should speak for themselves. The paneer pakora was almost certainly frozen or prepared days ago. It's tough to ruin Indian food...they managed to do it. The decor was inviting...but no one goes to a restaurant for that alone. read more

I would just give 1 star to this restaurant only because of it's luxurious comfortable ambience and style. For food and beverages - I would not give a single star . It was a very bad experience both in terms of cost and taste . We ordered a mix of veg and non veg food . Most of it was either half cooked or tasted stale. The chicken seemed very hard to bite and the mutton was stale . It seemed to us that the pakoras were half fried and this was later confirmed by the server that these pakoras are made early in the morning and then re fried . Being Indians , we do understand that when we serve pakoras , it should be made fresh and not re fried at all ! It seemed that in order to save time the chef dropped the pakoras in burning hot oil . Because of this the pakoras were uncooked from inside and only half cooked / cooked from outside. The garlic butter naan left a sense of heaviness inside as it probably had a lot of soda in it . Rating is not propotional to Taste: The menu was okay like most of the Indian restaurant in Germany. I was looking for veg food, ordered Veg Pakora which was supremely bland,uncooked from within,wen asked if it can be made spicy I was told its made hours in advance and will be refried n served.. Later gave try to paneer pakora, heavy layer of oil,bland,tight stale paneer made me loose hopes. So for main course ordered the safest thing chana masala, unfortunately it was made with gravy of cream,who makes chana masala as dessert. Other frnz ordered variety of non-vegetarian food,and I constantly saw them returning the dish requesting to cook the meat properly as they found it uncooked, requested constantly to make it little flavorful but the food kept returning with not much improvisation. We didn't expect food like restaurant in india,but lowered down expectations were also hurt here. #Cost: Usually in Germany we pay around 12-15 euro per dish (veg or non veg) ..here many of these low efforts dishes costed us 20euros per dish and we ended up paying such huge amount in end. Conclusion: I don't mind paying good amount for amazing food.but swiping so much money for food that doesn't digest easy, is not even mediocre in taste ruined our further trip in the city. Great atmosphere, amazing food, prompt service! The food was served quickly and is beautifully prepared. I had a chicken and spinach dish served with Jasmine rice. The dish is spiced with a deep herbal mix and a hint of sweet. So good! Also, I got the naan bread with garlic. Just the right chewy and crispness. The flavor of the garlic worked well with my dish. If you are black or of African descent, please do not go into this restaurant. They will not welcome you in their hearts and will keep you waiting over an hour before a waiter will start to serve or offer you beverage. They treated my family indifferently because of our skin color while treating other patrons who were nonblacks superbly. They had disgusting attitudes with us and when we brought our concerns to the owner he simply told us to find another restaurant. How rude and unprofessional. If you are black, please do not step foot or support this restaurant for they will treat you inferiorly while treating their white customers like majesty. read more
