What is there to do on Christmas Day in Nuremberg? Eat good Indian food!!!!…read more Ganesha is clean upscale Indian restaurant in old town of Nuremberg, with absolutely fantastic food, and good looking environment! Samosas were great...slightly smaller than in the US but excellent. Mango lassi was fantastic, all inclusive of the cup it was served in. Tandoori garlic chicken was the main course and was great. Super tender juicy chicken with a sauce that packs a punch. I did observe that Naan bread was a bit thin compared to what I experienced before and waiter explained that Germans prefer it that way! The only thing I would say could improve is customer service....this place has none. Order food, you get food. That's about it. Staff appears not happy, and the feeling you get is that jail guards dressed as waiters are serving fantastic food. Don't ask any questions as they are not happy answering them.

The menu is extensive, with descriptions in both German and English…read more The peshwari naan has fresh raisins, slices of coconut, and shaved almonds. The Aloo Palak is very flavorful, with spinach, potatoes, and a strong fresh herb flavor. The paneer is tender and mild. Everything is delicious and well portioned. Both the mango lassi and chai latte were great. Not so sweet like American versions. Such a good afternoon trip away from Germany and to India.

I was quite surprised to see no momos on the menu.. but it was written on a board as day's speciality... so not sure if it available everyday.. We ordered keema paratha..veg momos and Nepal masala & with garlic nan .. everything was well prepared.. was mild compared to typical Indian dishes.. I first time tried a pork dish prepared in Indian spices.. and was surprisingly decilious.. Good ambience.. the sitting capacity is not really big.. so even on weekdays.. if you are planning to go there in a group.. better reserve.. A bit expensive.. but almost similar prices as in any Indian restaurant in Nürnberg... quick service.. and delicious food.. surely worth trying..

GIGANTIC PORTIONS! it is a bit expensive but the portions were twice the size of a normal indian…read morerestaurant portion. best indian food I have had so far in Germany. The seasoning could still be improved. The vegetable pakoras were the best ones I have ever had. The daal was really tasty too. I had the palak paneer. It was nice and spicey but I was still missing authentic indian blend of flavours. the paneer was the best one I have had in germany but it was still missing the right flavour. The chicken Handi Lazas and it was really nice and spicey. The badam pasanda was great but a bit too rich and creamy for that size of a portion. They have a really nice selection of unusual ayverdic teas. I am definetely going back, but next time we re either having more starters and no mains or just the mains. The portions are true Franconian style!
