Sangam (Nuremberg) is by far the best Indian food that I have ever had. I've traveled all over the world, including India, and this is by far the best, no question. I had the chicken curry and added a side of naan, and my coworker had the chicken tikka masala. My entree was absolutely amazing and my coworker stated his was great as well. The service we received was great and the ambiance was fantastic. This restaurant definitely hit all the markers. I think my meal was around 27 euros total, which is very inexpensive. SUMMARY Sangam is a traditional Indian restaurant that you might be familiar with in the United States. The service was friendly and ordering was easy, as our waiter spoke English and made recommendations for entrees. If you are looking to change things up from traditional German cuisine, I would recommend dining at Sangam for dinner, and selecting something from the "Various dishes on a plate" page in the menu. PRE-DINING Sangam is a short walk from the main train station in town, near the old town entrance. We were able to walk from our hotel, so I can not speak to the parking, but would recommend looking for a public parking lot outside of the old town and walking in. AMBIANCE The ambiance is that of a typical Indian restaurant in the states. There were quite a few tables, and ones that can accommodate large parties as well. SERVICE We were seated at our table immediately upon entering the restaurant, however it took a while for our waiter to acknowledge us after we sat down. Once he did, the service was very good from there on out. Our waiter took an interest in our site seeing plans, as well as recommending dishes when we asked. I'd recommend just being patient, as it will be worth the wait! F & B I was dining with my spouse, and for the two of us we shared a 6 dish variety from the "Various dishes on a plate" page of the menu. Unfortunately, I did not capture the names of the dishes to share here, but we did opt for the chefs recommendations and all were delicious. I would recommend this option if you are adventurous and don't want the burden of selecting each of the dishes. While 6 sounded like a lot for two people, you can see from the picture the portions are small, so you get to try a variety of things. Yummy!!! We spent the weekend in Nuremberg and after a long drive all we wanted was yummy food and to relax. So we ordered a bunch of food from here and had a spread in the hotel room. We got the naan, samosas, butter chicken, and daal. To start, everything was so yummy. For the samosas, tasty...but I really would have loved more of the sauce they came with! So flavorful! Be careful with your spicy levels - my husband said medium and this was hot hot hot! Still very tasty, but everything was spicy so we didn't really have a ton to break it up. I would recommend if you can't handle tons of spice, get extra mild or mix it up with some medium and some mild. Overall it was so yummy and I wish I wasn't so tired so we could have eaten there. read more

So after a day of touring we came in. The spicy chicken vindaloo was hot enough for me. The mild chicken Marsala was just right. The fragrant rice was perfect and a lot. We were getting tired of German food so we decided to go Indian. The service was so friendly and when I noticed that they didn't have aloo gobi on the menu the waiter said they would make it for me. How nice! So, We had that, The chicken tikka masala, garlic naan best I ever had, and vegetable samosas. Everything was delicious. Their chicken curry was almost like butter chicken. The chicken was incredibly tender and absolutely delicious. We also had the chicken marsala, my NEW favorite dish which is the perfect creamy thickness to pour over rice and garlic naan. I tried their Rote, but it wasn't as good as I hoped. It was more like a very thick flat bread. I'm used to to the very thin style. Even though it was a Saturday night and several folks made reservations, we managed to walk-in and were seated immediately. The service was prompt and friendly. This is our favorite indian restaurant in Nuremberg. We always have great service and the food always tastes the same, delicious! If only I could give negative I will. We came as a family for dinner. Being of Indian descent we are quite familiar with the food and culture. As I was talking with the two hosts or servers at the entrance a British family came behind us. The hosts stopped talking to us and started attending the other guests and taking them to their table before attending us. It was very unethical and shows lack of customer service. When I told them that we were here first, they started to show us a table inside the restaurant even though we asked for a outside seating. So moral of the story, this place shows clear disrespect towards people of color and the food sucks. It's full of heavy cream and no where close to a good Indian Cuisine. I had upset stomach after the dinner. Save your money and enjoy some other restaurant. read more

The service was...disinterested? I didn't feel like our waiter gave a crap if we were there or not based on our interaction. (until he processed our card, then he was suddenly interested if we lived nearby. Shifty.) The food came out slow too. I ordered a vegetable curry in a mango sauce. I was here twice within a few days and I have to say - this place is fantastic!! The food is absolutely delicious. We tried the lunch specials the second time we were here, and while they were absolutely yummy, I would definitely always go with the "normal" menu. The lunch deals consists of a little bowl of your choice of food + rice + a salad or soup as starter. It's enough for a quick meal in your lunch break, but if you have time (and hunger) for a bit more, go with the non-lunch menu! Those dishes are even fresher and tastier! The service is good, the servers are attentive and professional, and the food is prepared relatively quickly. You are always served a wine or tea after you finished your meal, of course for free! It's a nice atmosphere, the restaurant is separated into several parts and the dividers help retain the feeling of a small restaurant - it never feels too crowded. All in all, it's definitely my new favourite Indian place - even though it's a little pricey compared to others. read more

So I came to nuremberg for a business trip , after walking a lot ( christmas market ) i was really hungry and being an indian , indian food lures me anytime . But this place ruined my amazing evening all the happiness from christmas market was taken away from the sloppy service and specially the attitude of the staff . Mr bimal one of the staff happend to ask me after ignoring me for 20 mins if i need something to drink . Chicken vindaloo was salty and not as spicy as I would like. The chicken was very tender and nice tasting. Rice and nan were good. Samosas seemed to be overcooked and not as tender as I would like. Stopped in for a quick dinner while in Nuremberg on business. Nice variety of selections on the menu. The Dahl Makhni was very good and just the right amount of spice. They only have one selection of rice, but it was very tasty as well. I ordered Naan bread, but they forgot to bring it. Just as well, the portions are a good size for sharing and as I was alone I wouldn't have been able to finish the Naan. Will definitely go back again. read more

As soon as we entered we encountered So called "Raj" Waiter. The Food was very bad, the Palak Paneer was smelling Bad. We wanted to order some Drinks, asked him to get the Menu. He bought it after 15 minutes, what a great Service. My friend ordered sober Lassi and he gave Sweet Lassi :-), he didnt even say sorry, He took the Lassi back and came with another Lassi. He was behaving as if he is giving food for Free of Cost. He was behaving as if Why these Indians have come to our Restaurant. At last we asked other waiters, where is your Manager. CHEAP LUNCH DEALS! you get a soup with any dish at lunchtime. The menu big and there is a wide variety of dishes, meats and vegetarian ones. I was a bit disapointed with my paneer as it was like eating tofu that had just been thrown into the sauce last minute. My mango lassi was salty which was a surprise. It also had some spices in there which made it taste more like a curry than a fruity drink. I would like to give it another go in the evening but am not expecting anything amazing. We had a very nice dinner here a few nights ago without reading the Yelp reviews, which were a surprising 3-stars. Our service was attentive, the vegetable samosas were excellently spiced, the chai was very good, and the garlic naan was excellent. We ordered two dishes--veggie and chicken korma, which had a coconut base (I'm used to an onion base). The texture and consistency of the korma was like butternut squash soup (same color too), which was a little surprising. It was still good but I think I prefer korma made with an onion base.
