Ring after a resize missing a diamond.
Clayton E.

When making any decision with jewelry, you tend to take advice and recommendations from friends and family. I had Ganem recommended to me by a few different people. All of them said great things about their service. After my experience, I would suggest you stay away from Ganem. My wife and I used Ganem to resize a wedding ring. They completed the resize, but upon giving the ring back it was missing a diamond from the bottom on both sides. I brought this to their attention as soon as I saw it, and they replaced it right away. However in their haste, they did not set the diamond properly. Because it fell out shortly after. Fast forward a few months, and the employee who serviced us then called my wife and was incredibly upset and rude because we did not end up buying my wedding band from him. Needless to say he called 5 months after we initially came in to look at a band and after we had already dealt with the missing diamonds. All in all, save yourself a headache and avoid Ganem.

Rough edges now on the caseback thanks to poor quality service.

Brought my Tissot T-Touch that I've owned for 17 years in for a new battery. Ganem is listed on the Tissot website as a service center, so I figured it was a safe bet that they'd be able to replace my battery with no problems. I was wrong. While they were able to replace my battery, they didn't exactly use care when opening the watch. I try to take good care of my watches, and I often replace my own batteries, but, I am unwilling to work on my Tissot due to its more advanced movement. After 17 years my Tissot had a nice patina of normal use. Now however, after getting my battery replaced at Ganem I find my caseback and two of the lugs have damage, gouging from where the case opening tool slipped and marred the titanium case and caseback. This is the 4th battery in only 17 years, and every other service from two different jewelers (in two different states) has returned my watch in the same condition it was brought in. But, that's no longer the case after getting it serviced at Ganem. I'm very disappointed with the quality of the service I received, and I definitely won't be back with any other watches from my collection for service.

Ganem had been recommended to me by a friend for their great service and cleaning. All seemed fine until my fiancé went to pick up my ring and there was a diamond missing from the band. He immediately turned the car around and brought it back. They had apologized and were embarrassed about the mishap. It made me a bit nervous that one could be so careless as to FORGET to put a diamond back in a ring. Well, a couple weeks later the same exact diamond popped out. I have had no issues with this ring until bringing it to this jeweler. Not sure if they were in a rush to get the diamond back in, but now I have to find a replacement diamond for my wedding ring. A disheartening experience, I would look elsewhere for a more trustworthy and careful jeweler.

Triton ring they had in stock but for about half the price I found online

First time jewelry shoppers. We had toured all around Scottsdale looking for tungsten, carbon fiber, or zirconium rings to no avail. We were pointed in the direction of this jeweler from another on Scottsdale Rd and they had exactly what we were looking for. Nora, the store manager, helped us find what we wanted and gave us additional information from a website they get some of their supply from. This showed me that they were willing to lose a sale if the customer found exactly what they desired from a competitor. I really enjoyed their selection of Triton rings, to which I will likely return to buy.

I wanted to have an additional band made for my wedding ring to match the existing one. Both my engagement ring and wedding band were made at a jeweler in Atlanta, so I was concerned about getting the new band to match up correctly. I met with Brittany and explained what I was looking for, and she assured me they would be able to match the original set. Ganem Jewelers did not disappoint!! Brittany was very attentive throughout the entire process and made sure every step, from molding the band, to setting the diamonds, to soldering everything together, was exactly what I had asked for. I could not be more pleased with the finished product- you cannot tell the original from the new band! It is everything I had hoped for and will definitely be coming back to Ganem in the future. Thank you Brittany!!!

Great work. Thanks Ganem!

Stopped in to see if they could help set my Dad's watch day/date and walked out with it all set in a matter of minutes. Nicely done!

We then came back in 2017 for our wedding bands, and in 2022 for a second wedding band for me and resizing. Throughout all these years, I have put my rings through the wringer, and they've held up wonderfully! This year my husband and I decided to upgrade my ring, we initially thought to buy a new ring altogether and placed and order, but after some thought, we came back and spoke with Marc, who completely understood the sentimental value of my original ring. He had us sit down and discuss what stone size they could make fit, the quality of stones (they carry natural and lab grown), that they could make my original center of my ring a pendant, and man did they deliver! I will forever be coming back for any of my jewelry needs.

To be honest, I'm surprised I'm writing this review, but our experience in our recent visit made it…read moreso we're definitely never returning, and would highly recommend people go elsewhere for their needs. The first time my fiancée and I visited, we were freshly engaged and needed her ring sized a bit smaller (from a 6). We saw that Schmitt had good reviews and it was in our neighborhood, so we paid them a visit. During our first visit, the employees (a young woman and a gentleman who was billed as sort of the "expert" on ring resizing) were very kind to us and worked with us to determine the correct size to go down to on the ring. The gentleman was extremely insistent that we need to go all the way down to a 5 and, despite the fact that my fiancée was honestly and vocally uncomfortable with it, we trusted his expertise (after all, we had gone in seeking advice) and paid to have it resized to a 5. Fast forward almost a year of us convincing ourselves a 5 was the right size, my fiancée is at this point having extreme anxiety about how much effort (and pain) it takes to put on & take off the ring every day, and we decide size 5 is simply too small. While a 5 fits her finger fine once the ring was on, getting it over the last knuckle is difficult and painful, and has been leaving the skin on her knuckle irritated and inflamed. Yes, Schmitt was wrong (and confidently, emphatically wrong), but we understand that nobody is perfect and we were totally willing to trust them again to get it right this time. However, when we visited this time, the energy we were given by the employee who "greeted" us at the door (an older woman with gray hair wearing a ton of jewelry) was immediately hostile. When we explained our situation and that we were hoping to have the ring resized (and obviously willing to pay to have it done), the woman was flippant and condescending and not AT ALL consultative. Without seeming to give it much thought, the woman asked if we wanted to go to a 5.75. While we were open to this, we pointed out that the previous gentleman we worked with was insistent that a 5 (from a 6) was the right size, so we were hesitant to go all the way back three quarters of a size so easily. The woman suggested that my fiancée's knuckle "must have grown an entire size" in the time since our first visit. She then again asked us if we wanted to go to a 5.75, with the impression that she didn't really want to go back-and-forth any longer. I understand that ring sizing is a sort of imperfect science and that bodies (and fingers) DO change, but the energy and attitude we received was seriously off-putting and, frankly, unwelcoming. We probably don't look or dress like most of Schmitt's customers, but we are nice people and can afford to shop there (not that that should matter). We left Schmitt's and took the ring to another local jeweler (see my other reviews) the same day where we received excellent, friendly, and consultative service. Turns out you can put beads on the inside of a ring that is slightly too big to help balance things out! My fiancée now has a perfectly-fitting ring, size 6 with two small beads on the inside to help stabilize it once over her knuckle. We gave Schmitt's an honest chance even after they messed up badly the first time, and they blew it. Please go elsewhere.
