Definitely one of the best barber shops I've been too. Not only because of the price( I'm use to paying 25$+) but because Sean jr is super hard working. It definitely shows when he is taking care of you. Even as a walk in he still acted like I was a previous client of his. Great customer service and Sean jrs precision skills were absolute. Knowing that he has been cutting hair since he was in eighth grade definitely made me feel safe. Man! This place is great. What an upgrade as well. Although, Lynwood is super great considering it was my old barbershop but this new shop is such an upgrade. Such an amazing service. I found this barbershop to be exactly what I was looking for in a convenient location... skillful staff and a welcome environment. On my first visit a little over 6 months ago, I was greeted by the owner, Sean Sr, and I've been a client of his ever since. What I like the most about this place is the fact that I can go online and see what times my barber is available and the book my appointment right then! All of the barbers there are top-notch professionals. I can go there and get my fix of sports and entertainment talk or catch the news on the large screen TV. Joined Yelp JUST to express my extreme disappointment with jack the tripper at Gandy's. My first experience at Gandy's was good enough to have me return, but sadly this story takes a familiar turn for the worst. Probably the worst experience I've ever had with a barber in terms of pure lack of professionalism and bad attitude, and I've seen pretty bad. Never seen anything like it, not in the grimiest neighborhoods. He had a terrible, unprofessional attitude. He arrived late to the appointment, which is unprofessional, but that's not he worst part. The worst part was how angry he was that he actually had an appointment.... like he was mad he had to come make money! Go figure!!! He interrogated me about my previous experiences in the barbershop as an introduction and a greeting...he got mad in discussing what I wanted for my cut, which was relatively simple easy cut...He angrily asked me if I wanted a line up WITH my haircut (???doesn't everybody??), commented on my hairline. He had a hostile vibe and tone while cutting my hair like he didn't want to do the job. Stay home if you don't want to cut hair!! On top of all that, low-tier pathetic haircut. All that attitude and no cutting game to back it up???? From the looks of it, I can see other people have had better experiences with other barbers in this shop....and also from the looks of it, others have had similar experiences with ol jack...that's a sign for the owners word to the owner and his son, If you keep barbers w attitudes like his around, it will ruin the reputation and integrity of your shop and chase away your customers. read more

We were in town for a football game and had a couple hours to spare so i this I'd try and get my 4yr old a quick haircut. This shop was the closest to us so we went in. It was 1pm on Friday. There were 5 barbers with clients and they each looked at us real quick and that was it. I know they at least saw me so they probably just made a mental note of where we were as far as "clients up next" for walk-ins go. We waited an hour with not one person saying anything to me. Each barber seemed to be taking clients as they walked in almost immediately. I figured these people were scheduled. I noticed a sign that said "No Walk Ins after 6pm". Eventually, I caught a barber who was chatting with people in the waiting area on his lunch break and asked him about the walk in policy. He said they were busy today and tomorrow and the walk in guy happened to not be there today. This is totally understandable but not one person could have asked me or told me this an hour ago? It appears after looking this place up that Sean Sr is the owner. He was one of the busy barbers who didn't acknowledge us at all. If the owner doesn't have customer service skills nor cares to be an example of them then how and why would he expect any of his employees too? read more

Thomas couldn't cut hair if it was as simple as a bowl cut. I went in for a simple fade and at the end of the day my head looks like a bird shit on top of it. The guy really needs to improve his skill. I volunteer to buy him a notebook if he's willing to take notes from some of the other barbers in the shop. The sad part is I wont get back my hair or money....and I look like I belong in a circus :( read more

Do not go to gandys barber shop!! Worst barber I have ever been too! Literally was almost in a fist fight with one of the barbers! I came in at six and he told me he was done cutting... so I told him I would come in earlier tomorrow to get it done... I was in my car with it already started and he came out to my car and said he would do it now. Once I came inside he asked what I wanted... I told him I wanted it a 3/8 on top and a shadow fade on the sides. He asked 3/8 off the top and I said no 3/8 left.. he told me that wasn't a number and asked if it was a certain size etc... he then got more irrited with me and asked what size my last barber used... I said I didn't know and he replied with sucks for you. Fucking sucks for you! I then went to get out of the chair and he grabbed my arm and went to put it behind my back and told me to not be disrespectful! I then continued to walk out and every time I turned around he was a half step behind me almost mid swing! He followed me to my car like this and antagonizing me the entire way out read more

My boyfriend needed a haircut but wanted to try a new barber shop closer to home. We felt the environment was great and welcoming. In comparison to other places we have been, his haircut here was by far the best. Prices are very reasonable and all the barbers were friendly. The overall experience was enjoyable. I got the worse haircut yesterday from Thomas. I read the reviews and I was excited to go get a haircut because of the reviews were great until I actually got a hair at this place. I will definitely not recommend this place or Thomas because #1 he acted like he didn't know how to cut my hair (but he calls himself a barber which hes not) which I told him is their anyone else here that could cut my hair and he says that I would have to make an appointment, but he could do it anyways since I have an appointment. I was very confused because I have been looking for a black barbershop in forever since I moved up here and its like if you don't know how to cut a black persons hair and your a black barber, theirs a problem here. So I gave him my little trust I had and he totally messed my hair up. I told him to leave the top and cut the bottom portion because I was growing out my hair. I thought he was just trimming the top because my hair was at a 3, he then cuts my hair to a 1 and when I told him that hes touching the top to much and he told me that he got it, but he still kept cutting the top. I was so pissed off I just paid for this raggedy ass hair cut and I didn't tip him because not only did he did not do what I asked, he also didn't blend my hair as well. PLEASE BEWARE OF GETTING YOUR HAIR CUT FROM THIS PLACE OR FROM THOMAS because I was looking at everyone haircut when they were walking out and it looked like a blind man was cutting everyone's hair including mine.
