Quick service. Walked up in a Saturday afternoon and got seated immediately. Haircut I requested was pretty simple but he got it done quick and to my liking. Best value I've found in the downtown Everett area. When every barber shop around charging almost 50 dollars for a haircut Neal is charging less then half that. Neal's Barber Shop is great! Neal has been cutting hair for over 25 years. If you want an efficient good haircut this is definitely a great place to go! No hair washing, adding of product, or even wasted time here. I have a simple cut of short on the sides and a little off the top. At a regular hair salon or "modern" (ie expensive) barber shop, this same haircut takes 30 minutes somehow. I wasn't timing but I'm pretty sure Neal knocked it out in about five minutes. There's this moment when you're on vacation, your travel razor breaks, and you just don't want to buy another since you've got a replacement at home. In times like these, Neal's really helps a guy out. I found myself in said predicament and knew I needed to find someplace for a shave (I keep my head bald, just like my cheeks). Neal's happened to be just down the street from where I was staying and one of the few places open at the early hour I desired. Oh, and so affordable. Neal didn't have a wait when I arrived so I took my seat and he buzzed my head. He was friendly and conversational, though not pushy or awkward. My only complaint, thought I realize this would up the price considerably, is that he doesn't offer a razor shave, just a cut with scissors and, in my case, electric clippers. He was finished with the cut in 5 minutes and it was much better than cuts that have taken me 30 minutes or more. What's more, I only had to tell him once what I wanted. He is a one man show and he is great at it. I brought my son in to get his hair cut on the recommendation of my brother in law. Good choice. $10, cash only. We only had to wait about 15 mins and then the cut only took maybe 10. My son looks like a little man now which is always a good thing. I wanted to like this place a lot. I got a great haircut and it was only $10. I just couldn't look past the fact that he uses the same combs, trimmers, etc on each person without any cleaning or disinfecting. You can see the pieces of the last guys' hair (and maybe lice) on comb as it goes into your hair. read more

I've been going to Neal for my Flat top for approx. 12 years. He's fast, friendly and courteous. He can carry on a great conversation. I'm in his shop about every 45 days or so. As for the Tim S. review, he is so far off base, it's funny. That's why I decided to post this. I have known Neal a long time and NOT ONCE, has he reused a comb, brush or other utensil on another person. His shop is very clean. Good people go there. I have been a longtime customer of this barbershop. There are things that draw me back to Neal's barbershop and one of them is his excellent work ethic and skill as a barber. Yes, in the afternoon on some days, you may find folks sitting reading the vast amount of material he has to read. When haircut time comes he greets you, and he remembers you from the last time you were there. For me this may have been a year or more at times. Prices are fair and reasonable. He seems to get along with children well. The best of Neal is that he is a good man wanting you to look a bit nicer to yourself than when You entered. read more

Neal provided me with the best haircut I've ever had with over 30 years on this planet and seeing at least 100 different people cut my hair during this period. Not only did he follow directions to give me exactly what I wanted, the haircut only took maybe 8 minutes and every other person's hair he cut was easily under 10 minutes. Also, his price is very reasonable at $10 and for military I received my cut for just $8. I would recommend him for any guy living in Everett or even just visiting and need a quick cut. read more
