FedEx Office Print & Ship Center - Sandy, hard paper with rounded cut edges

FedEx Office Print & Ship Center

I've gone twice in the past week for something or another and they're so incredibly nice there…read more For one thing, dumb me went in through the entrance where the FedEx pick-up truck was and rather than have me move, they moved and let me park. For another, Liz has attended me both times, and she is efficient and welcoming. Seriously was in and out both times in five minutes flat. As for what I sent out, the first was a care package with fragile items that arrived in one piece. The second a letter that will be arriving later in the week. I've no doubt everything will go swimmingly. I mean, so far everything has, and minus one incident years ago with FedEx, I've never had any issues with this chain whatsoever.

However, my package is going to a government office and they are very specific on how the address must be written or it gets returned to me. She then complained about me within earshot to the next customer! She said, "There's always that one person trying to tell you how to do your job." There's no excuse for talking about a customer to other customers. I smiled. I didn't raise my voice. I send a lot of packages at that location and she was just nasty to me. When I asked the other employee in the building if there was a manager name or business card I could have, she told me I needed to leave. Terrible, terrible customer service at this location. It used to be great. Not anymore.

Target Print & Mail - A large production facility with all the equipment and talent needed to handle your project

Target Copy has always been able to meet our needs, even at the last minute. Their staff go above and beyond to be accommodating. More small businesses in our Tallahassee community should be run exactly like this place.

My own company had sponsored the cost of reprinting wife's 20th law school class reunion guides and there was no question as to where to take the project. Leave it to me to wait until the last minute to execute this project, but I did and Target Print & Mail committed to my deadline. In fact, when I picked up the packets on Friday afternoon (an hour prior to the event) the manager (Jeremy, who if I remember correctly is the son in law of the lady who started Target Copy "waybackwhen") offered to show me the facility - VERY impressive indeed and clearly capable of handling ANY job that TLH could send their way. Digital AND offset printing operations along with all the esoteric machinery to accomplish common and uncommon tasks. I've depended on Target Copy off and on since undergrad days (I'm FSU '89 and '94). By no means have I been a high profile client here, but I've always been made to feel like I actually was.

Let me preface this before it gets drowned in my sea of words from a poor experience: Go to…read morefireballprinting.com or catprint.com instead!! They are online but SUPER quick and are wonderful printers with amazing service!! I used to use their service quite frequently! I had wonderful experiences with their printing and they were always on time with me with all my orders. They were incredibly expensive but local which was convenient when I needed something done the same day or next day. I had this ONE incident happen with them and rather than resolving it with me, they decide to cancel my invoice and stop doing business with me altogether. That's perfectly fine with me though, there are plenty of other print shops available that can fill the order. Here is exactly what happened: I am an illustrator and get my art printed/shipped quite often. I had been using a few other printing companies but I just recently moved out of Tallahassee and wanted to remain a customer of Express Printing so I decided to have them blind ship my prints. I've had items blind shipped from many other companies before but this would be my first time handling it through this business. I contacted them Tuesday for an order I needed to be printed and shipped out to multiple destinations. Tony was incredibly prompt with me, processed my order and had things printed/shipped Wednesday. It was great! During the phone call Tuesday, I gave him my credit card information and address so he could charge me whenever it was processed. Everything was running smoothly and I was very happy. Fast forward to Thursday, I get 2 emails from Tony saying he couldn't process my card because it was incorrect. I'd been using it so I emailed him back saying that was strange and I will give him a call tomorrow morning between 12-1 EST. I've moved to PST and I'm a fairly busy person so I have that 1 hour dedicated to emails/phone calls. No big deal, though. Very happy to support a previously local business of mine. This is where things turn sour. Early Friday morning, I receive a complaint from a customer saying their order arrived crinkled. I apologize to them and offer to get them a new order. But then another person contacts me about an hour later. He tells me his print arrived crinkled and TORN. What? This can't be. So I ask my client to send me pictures so I can see how it possibly could've been damaged. He sends me them and I am distraught because they look terrible. I was very upset and managed to get back to Tony via email Friday evening but clearly EST they were closed. I told him about my situation and asked what can be done about this as I was quite upset, it had never happened with anyone else. Rather than trying to fix the issue or even work with me, he assumes I do not intend on paying (really?) and cancels his business with me. As someone who has been working with him for a few years now and had a pretty good relationship with everyone there, I am pretty shocked at what occurred. He also mentions that his business is reputed and has been around for 30 years. I understand that he may have good printing results, but customer service is a HUGE thing nowadays. I'm lucky because I have many options to have things reprinted and reshipped to customers that were effected but his response was quite surprising. I ended up just responding with some advice about shipping out posters because it seems that they don't do it properly. With shilling out posters, these triangular tubes don't work because they aren't sturdy. If you use them, they will inevitably get crushed so either use proper mailing tubes or add something sturdy inside so the box can take weight to it without creasing the contents. At first I thought it was USPS' fault but when I saw this packaging, I knew that it was just carelessness in their part for not securing the insides. It is basically like sending something fragile with no bubble wrap. You can't fault the postal carrier for such negligence. I guess it works out since they won't even bother dealing with me anymore so I suppose I don't have to pay? It still baffles me because it was such a small order to cancel everything over. Let me also clarify when I say expensive! I got 18x28 posters from them for $23 per poster (yikes) when I have gotten various 18x28 and 20x30 posters done with other companies for roughly $8. I have found a local printer near my new house who does my 18x28s for $5. I used to get my 11x17s through Express printing and the price would range between $1.5 - $2.5 per poster. That is on par with pricing from Staples, Fedex, and Kinkos. UPS (which is highly hit or miss with quality) is cheaper at around $1-$1.5 per 11x17. I would HIGHLY recommend fireballprinting.com or catprint.com. Even places like Vistaprint.com are better than them. Summary: Good quality but overpriced Bad customer service
