After a…read morelovely morning of sightseeing in old Montreal, we made our way to Bar a Beurre, a charming and cosy bakery in the heart of the Old Port. The interior is gorgeous, plant and floral motifs everywhere. The seating upstairs is small and a bit of a squeeze but the decor with its bookshelves, greenery and brick wall, makes it feel very cosy and elegant. The girl serving us was very friendly and hospitable. She gave us a tea menu where we each chose our teas and were shortly presented with a big teapot each of the tea, gorgeous floral china cups and a mouth-watering two-tier display of fresh sandwich bites, scones, crossaints, lemon macaroons, chocolate bites and buttercream cupcakes! We devoured every single bite and were truly impressed with the quality of the delicacies and the service. Everything was superb and so delicious - a wonderful and memorable experience overall :) Highly recommend!

The adorable macarons really caught our eye and were not disappointed with the flavors offered including Nutella, Oreo, strawberry cheesecake, matcha, and more. I so far have enjoyed the crème brûlée and Oreo and can't wait to the others when I get home. The mango pieces were soft and fresh, made to taste sweeter with a drizzle of condensed milk. Small pieces of mochi contributed to elevating the texture even more. Overall, we had a wonderful time each visit and could see ourselves being able to relax and spend hours there. Staff were kind and tried their best to work as fast as they could. Just everything about this croissant was perfect. A but flaky on the outside with a soft, buttery goodness on the inside. Couldn't really ask for more than that. Brioche a tete It was good. I did enjoy the subtle sweetness that it came with it but the croissant definitely overshadows this pastry. Chocolate croissant Good amount of chocolate in the inside and the chocolate itself tasted great too! Almond croissant This one I wasn't too sure about. It was good, but probably wouldn't order again. The almond filling just didn't really do it for me and my friend. Cheese croissant I thought this was great. It was a perfect amount of cheese to this pastry and my mouth is watering thinking about it. Cheese and ham croissant My friend got this for me and I did really like it. After eating this, I just had to try their regular cheese croissant. Overall, this place was great. I came back here a couple times during my stay and if I were to rank it, it would be: 1. Croissant 2. Cheese croissant 3. Chocolate croissant Would definitely go slightly out of my way if I was in Montreal (with a car) for this.
