Ever since GameStop announced it was restructuring their operations after going bankrupt, If I remember correctly. But ever since then, they've(GameStop) turned into a version of themselves that's not worth supporting anymore. This is my location for the last 20 years roughly. So I ABSOLUTELY know what's going on here. All sorts of things are different now and just feel either more difficult or more disappointing. From the lack of Games, they've taken away all the Used Games besides the current gen or used current gen. Then they've stocked their shelves with more Comic, Video Game or popular products like Funko POP! Figures. They have gotten better about trading in games when it comes to protecting the consumer and their own business. But at the same time, still offer the LOWEST amount for your Trade-In's. (advice; there's actually a considerable amount of Really Good Game stores in the surrounding SLC areas that will give you a better amount for your Trades. GameChangerz, Numbskull, Gamers Asylum, Minus World, Retro Game Vault, etc.) Then they demand the oddest things now when it comes to trading in Consoles. Having every single little string, tie, cord, cover, etc or they won't accept the Console. Very frustrating. They still have basic rules that help them prevent any faulty or fraudulent Consoles. But now have taken it to another extreme level. Then there's the Rewards Points system that used to be able to use on just about anything that GameStop sold. Now you can only used the points in store on a game that's already released and on their shelves. You now can't use the points for gift cards, or PS, Xbox, or Nintendo online purchases, or games. Unless you have redeemed your points for Online Only. But then you can only use those points for only the items offered on the GameStop website. And you can't bundle them, like if you had your $5 web coupon and you had a Redeemable Points coupon. Just dumb. These little things can make ppl want to come back. But corporate just doesn't care it seems now. And customer service. It feels like they're not trying anymore to please the customers. Now I do understand sometimes, simply because the customer has become an A-Hole. But I mean the whole thing to make you feel welcome, talk games, or experiences with the customers. Little things that make you feel like you're at home. Just not there now. Because of everything in general, I order games from either Online(Amazon, Best Buy, or Target) and Amazon if I need accessories, etc. And I only trade in at other Game Stores. I very rarely go inside GameStop locations now. But every time I do, I seem to have a bad experience. If GameStop is going to keep trying to survive, their CEO needs to get customer feedback, and go see these locations first hand. Maybe, just maybe they can turn around the in-store experience again. read more

We came here looking for wii games and another controller. Bad customer service in my opinion. I mean I guess we left with a controller. But it took more effort than necessary to get there. Not really great communication with the sales rep guy, I wasn't sure what I was supposed to ask for, but this guy was making it difficult. He could've made suggestions or been a lot more helpful. The controller itself was kind of gross. It was pre-owned, but hadn't been cleaned at all. I think they could like wipe it down or something. Their selection of games is weak. I likely won't find myself here ever again. Doesn't really seem like quality and they price stuff way high for being pre owned. Might as well buy whatever it is new. I know I've attempted to sell games at game stop in the past and they will offer like less than a dollar. It's insulting. Not worth it. I'm not a huge gamer, but it's a pretty big hobby in my family and game stop has not been our go to and most likely never will. read more

Leaving this review as I leave this GameStop and noticed the yep reviews. This is my main GameStop. I purchase from here, preorder from here and more. The customer service is fantastic and the employees communicate well. I have asked some questions on games before which had been met with a confused face. The employees are helpful and will look it up and help search for the answers to my questions if they do not know. The products in the store are not always marked correctly but, quickly corrected when asked. Such as, the photo attached...says $54.99 when the shelf said $34.99. I asked and got a response that the shelf price was the correct one. To easy... all it takes people is to be informed, ask questions, know what you're buying and at what price. Either way to some it up this is a great store with great employees. The only negative thing I have come across are the opening hours being 12pm. Personally for me this sucks because I'm up and moving early and after the gym in the mornings sometimes wish I could stop by before heading home. I can live with it though and won't 1 star because the times don't me my schedule. Enjoy all! read more

I've come just to look a few times and I've also bought a few games and there is always something incorrectly priced. I would be more understanding if it was once or just a few times but this happens on several occasions. If you try to purchase a game for the price on that the tag has on it and it's incorrect, they will try to charge you a higher price without telling you. On three separate occasions I had to ask why they were attempting to charge me more than what the game costs. Every time they said because it was mistagged. This is the closest location to my house, so I frequent it often. The employees have always been friendly, helpful, and attentive. They even took the time to call their customer service line for me and spent about 30 minutes on the phone trying to get the right serial number for an item since I had lost the receipt for it and was trying to exchange it for a new one. This isn't the largest store so sometimes they don't have the best selection. read more

Went here asking for information worker was a bigger douche than the cast of jersey shore. He also acted like he knew programming and tried explaining to me when a game was coming out because of the sophisticated programming that was being put into the games engine. I might not know release dates, but if this guy is such a great programmer then why is he at a job making 8 bucks an hour? read more

I bought a season pass for my son for Christmas & specifically asked the worker if you had to have a gold membership to use it because I am not going to pay for gold. He told me you didn't which is THE ONLY reason I bought the season pass! Now come to find out that our gold free trial has ended you actually do have to have Gold. So now I pretty much wasted my money on the season pass & I will NEVER buy anything from GameStop again!!! read more

Every time I go to this store, I'm disappointed. The staff won't stop talking, trying to get you to pre-order or trade something, even if you've said you're just browsing. When I went to ask about a Pokémon event, I was told that I would need to pre-order the upcoming games in order to get the card to download the item in-game, and was asked if I would like to do it then, even though I had made it clear I wasn't interested in reserving anything. I've decided that I'm going to avoid going to this one again. It's easier to go out of my way to visit the other gamestop in town than to go across the parking lot to receive poor service. read more
