This is something that has been a lot of fun and brought back great memories from my childhood and teen years; it gives a great sense of nostalgia. They have a pretty decent (albeit shrinking due to less demand) DVD and Blu-ray selection and it's cheaper than Red Box or downloading. So this is a massive bookstore, music store, video store, toy store that specializes in buying used items and reselling them. It is a great place to offload things you don't need and get a little cash on the side. I have a touch of sensory bias, which is why it's difficult for me to enjoy it. But I totally understand why others do. If you are planning on selling stuff, make sure you get there early. If not, when they open there will be a line not of people wanting to sell stuff just people wanting to get in there to check out anything new that came in the night before. It is always busy so do not expect to come and it not be packed. If that is an issue for you probably not your place. But a big plus is the parking lot is absolutely massive. The owner has been here as long as I can remember. McMinnville truly is a small town and in some areas it doesn't have a lot to offer but in other areas it does. Granted, it is like I said this is the last of it's kind but this is the kind of town that everyone knows most everyone. You can still stop in places and see people you went to school with or get that personal help from a privately owned and operated business. You can't get that in larger places. In larger places they may be friendly enough but that's attached to the depths of your wallet. Not here.

The selection for used single issue comics is massive, but the selection for new releases as well as trades is always very limited, so if there is something specific you want, it's best to add it to a pull list otherwise you miss out. The prices on everything is usually pretty good, but be wary on some of the singles. It's not very often that a single is outwardly expensive compared to its market price, but every now and then you may overpay. Im a seasoned collector, but if I look at the business from the point of view as a new comic book collector, I would say that the shop could use a bit of growing. The staff, as I said, is very friendly, but they could definitely do a bit better at making conversation easier with new faces. Overall, I think if you're new to collecting, just go inside and ask questions. Be honest and say you don't know what you're doing. Several of them will be more than happy to help. Finally, I would like to see a more expansive selection of trades. When I used to go there, there was always 2-3 shelves full of trades and now it's one manga and one trades. I love manga, but there are trades I'd really rather buy from a small business instead of going to say Barnes and noble.

The back of the store upstairs is nothing to brag about really. The gentleman at the desk with the beard was very helpful. There is no theater at all, only video booths. The front 5 or 6 were just regular ones and toward the back were they fun ones. Lets just say they are very interactive with one another. The cliental varies, couples 8 to 11 on fridays and saturdays. After 11 well you get what you get and honestly it was enough that we left the place due to the creeps. I would not rank them as 2nd in the country. I am sure their are far betters ones out there.

I just called since we had not heard from them and they said they finished the evaluation on 5/30 (day after we took the books in) and they said since we didn't respond they gave us store credit of $57.00 and the cash price would have been $27.00. There were books worth over $100 used and they were going to give us only .25 per book. This is a ripe off. It might be a good place to buy books but don't sell your books to them.
